Question A22 5G: NFC under GSI? - Samsung Galaxy A22 5G

Hey everyone!
I recently got myself a new phone, which is A22 5G. I'm looking forward to installing any GSI ROM on it. However, my only concern is having NFC under it. I know it might require some patches to get it working, but my question here is if it works at all, at that moment? I need NFC working at my work and it's the only thing I care about working.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

NFC does not work. It should be simple to patch, but I had no luck so far.

I understand, thank you for that information. I think it would be easier to get a hand-on on a device that has at least some Custom ROMs support and uses same NFC as A22 5G. But until then, I think I'm gonna stay on stock A12 then.
Thank you!

@PhantomUser2002 great news, with the android 13 update for Pixel Experience Plus 13.0 NFC is working.

VOLTE on Lineage and Resurrection ROMs

Hello XDA'ns
Is it possibleto activate VOLTE on custom ROMs like Lineage and the Resurrection? Ive learnt (and tried) that the engineering mode is locked in these and hence the Volte option cant be tweaked.
Just wanted to check with you members if there is a way we can activate VOLTE on these ROMs?
Thanks for any help!
ATM. No VoLTE on custom ROMs
Thanks for the response! Hope we have one soon!

Getting VoLTE is no big thing as compared to other things like Camera, video & few stufff..
right now VoLTE is not important for the devs..
its just a matter of time...
True that! Man, the wave JIO has created
I think what frustrates most of the letv 1 users in India is the fact that though the phone supports volte, the company is not ready to release an update that will enable the service. I know a friend who has a one plus 2, and the company was gracious enough to roll out an update with the volte enabler. May be they want users to move to their newer device.
Also, looks like most of the ROM developers are not India based, so we can't ask for more from them; atleast we have a good development support for the device, which itself is a great thing!

We need VoLTE in India because we can't experience smooth calling by jio4gvoice app that consume lot of battery too

Yes ,it is possible to get Volte in custom ROMs (you can see redmi note 3's Lineage OS) . But as said by other people it is not as important as camera and other bugs and the devs are not Indian so hard to say when le 1s can get Volte in custom ROMs.
I think by using psycho kernel.
It can be done.

Is the phone treble enabled?

Hello Everyone!
I'm currently trying to decide whether to get the Honor Note 10, or the Xiaomi Mi Max 3. While the former clearly shows strength in terms of processing power, design etc., the later one has a major advantage in software due to it having treble support.
Hence, if I may ask to those of you who already have the phone, is the device treble enabled? I currently have my OnePlus 5 running Android Pie because of treble, and I would like to have my secondary phone be as flexible as well! I am highly aware that the bootloader unlock requires a paid service, but a few dollars for having barebones AOSP roms would be something I look forward to.
Thank you in advance to those who'll answer!

Yeah! So that it may be possible to flash GSI roms
Hi,
As Huawei doesn't allow to unlock the bootloader, you won't be able to install any GSI to it...
Some people report to have managed to unlock it with a paid option and to install TWRP.
But I am almost certain that even if they did and assuming a GSI will install and boot, you'll end up with a crippled device with features missing or not working...
I'd like to see that also but I think for now I'll stick to stock to no get stuck ,?

Well, maybe we could find workarounds for it... But I do understand your point with having incompatible roms.. I have bricked a device before because of it. But I hope someone knowledgable could look into this, especially those who work on the Honor 10 and Honor View 10 . Anyways, I guess I'll just try by myself, got my unit just today :fingers-crossed:
Is Note 10 a A only device?

Searching for good smartphone

Hi all,
I'm searching for a good smartphone which uses non-stock ROM and supports VoLTE / VoWiFi and I want to keep privacy, so root is needed
Which experience do you have and which smartphone you can recommend to me?
Thank you!
it seems you are Indian right,
secondly, what is your budget and expectation in terms of specs of smart phones.
please elaborate about your budget and expectations on specs of mobile.

realme phones have good developer support (if its a famous one)
alternatively you can use samsung phones with sanpdragon remember exynos variants have less support

Well snapdragon Samsungs that America variant (second hand)like XXXXU, XXXXT, XXXXU1, XXXXT1, XXXXP can not unlock bootloader and hence cannot flash roms. Only XXXX0 does the job.
Xiaomis are fine if you have patience to wait 7 days for bootloader unlock.
I have no idea about realme phones as I do not buy them.
Famous exynoses are also supported like the 'unkillable' Galaxy S II I9100.
ya but you know how hard is exynos to develop any ways it depends.................
The commom agreement is Huaweis, especially those released after 2018-06, are out of the selectable list.

because unlock bootloader forbidden Offical way and can be only done unofficially with patch below 2018-06
Most important for me is: Root, Privacy, VoLTE and VoWiFi (and I love LineageOS)

then blacklist GSI roms only devices like J7 Pro(j730) as those broken volte and some even sim
blacklist old phone like S II too as those probably does not even support lte.

Question Enabling NFC On Redmi Note 11E Pro in custom roms

Hi,
Just received this and have tried putting on several ROM's (Pixel, Elixir, ArrowOS) none of which can un-grey the NFC toggle.
How did others achieve this for their phones?
I believe this has to do with getting a required firmware flashed but thus far i have been unsuccesful in finding which one it might be. I've tried vendor_boot with no success.
Appreciate anyone's input into this.

I am using spark os and it works..
But again maybe i had initially good firmware, not sure
FYI for anyone else that reads this post. I tried multiple ROM's, attempted firmware sideloads via xiaomifirmareupdater.com and none of them have worked to un-grey NFC. I flashed the China MIUI and NFC was going there. I am now using the MIUI China ROM and NFC is showing. So, i guess i'll be sticking to MIUI with a good deal of de-bloating occurring.
Edit: Have tried Custom ROM's with Android 12 and 13 and both yielded the same result of nil NFC even with firmware sideloads.

Hello again.
Another question:
With NFC activated on the CN rom i still can't undertake contactless payments (security error message when attempting to add a card).
1) Have others experienced this on their phones? Is there any fix? Have any of the safety fixes helped you? Or are you stuck and unable to make contactless payments on this phone?
2) Out of curiosity does anyone have the Global version Redmi Note 11E Pro phone? I was only able to see the Global ROM versions being sold on Aliexpress and picked that.
Thanks.

Question Galaxy A12 NACHO (One UI) Rom on Galaxy M12 (One UI CORE)

I noticed that the Galaxy A12 Nacho (SM-A127F) uses the same CPU as the Galaxy M12 (SM-M127F) and in addition both have very similar specifications, however the Galaxy A12 uses the normal One UI. Is it possible to use One UI from Galaxy A12 Nacho on Galaxy M12?

Galaxy A12 Nacho doesn't have normal One UI, it also has One UI Core.

Also, off-topic question, does VoLTE only work on ROMS, not GSIs?
Since, I saw a rom on M12 that had VoLTE support somehow?

Should also work on GSIs, but sometimes it might not work, and you need to install a special .apk called ims.apk for it to work.

Also does this work on Google Fi Network, and if you don't mind, can you upload the APK for me to use?

Better to use an AOSP ROM though, it is fully optimized for the device, although GSI increases how many ROMs you can use.

I think you can use this one from GitHub:

Also, what GSI do you want to flash? I can recommend the LineageOS 20 and Pixel Experience GSI. I helped my friend yesterday to install a LineageOS 20 GSI on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G. It all worked, except the mobile data, as it could not connect to mobile data (but find the SIM and detect the provider). Switched to a Pixel Experience GSI, and all was fixed. But this does not say that you also have that issue, it is a completely different device .

Pixel Experience GSI, definitely. Thank you for this fix! Also, was your device an A12 or something else, since I want to see if I have any bugs before I install, if not, still thank you for your support, and I will be installing a GSI later today!

Yep, but I love the original stock feel, so maybe I will go for the pixel experience GSI.
(Mainly because of the more compatibility with themed icons)

I did not test it on my devices. I helped a friend to install it on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G, although I do have an SM-T290 (Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019)) which is rooted and has a LineageOS 20 AOSP ROM.
I did try to install a LineageOS 20 GSI on my SM-T290 while it was not available yet with TWRP, but somehow it bootlooped. Then I switched back to stock and later I found out that there was an AOSP ROM, which works very good now!

Yes, although LineageOS also looks much like stock.
Installing custom things works the same on every Samsung device, not the files though. But most steps are the same. I still don't know why my tablet was bootlooping while flashing the GSI, I had wiped the data partition and also the system partition I think. I'm not sure whether I did format them. I wish we could dual-boot on those devices. I know there is MultiROM, but that is only for a few older devices.

Maybe, because of that, you don't need any patch! Maybe it will already work.
