Can't unlock after restart - every time

Hi all, did a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for. Feel free to point me in the right direction if I missed it...
Quick setup: Drowned my original S6 so bought a replacement second-hand, in really good condition. IMEI and such checks out as legit so no concerns about it being a fake.
Fingerprint scanner would NOT work reliably for the first couple of months - would accept new fingerprints OK but just wouldn't recognise them 80% of the time so I went with basic swipe for a while.
Then an update came through and ever since the fp scanner has worked flawlessly.
My issue is, whenever I restart the phone, it asks for my password to unlock instead of fp. That's fine, I know my password HOWEVER it will not accept it.
EVERY single time I restart my phone, I have to use Samsung's FindMyPhone on a nearby PC to unlock the phone. After which, I can reset the fingerprints and password and we're all good until the next time I have to restart (something I do VERY rarely now, because of this issue - if I'm not near a computer at the time, my phone is useless).
Has anyone else encountered this issue/know of a fix?
*Running stock Android 6.0.1. Optus (Australia) firmware, kernel 3.10.61-8829014
I dont know exactly the fix for this bug but if you did a backup, you can try a factory reset.

Hook your phone to computer and let connection be for transferring files.
Then use computer file manager to find your files. Easy.
All you need to do is remember your swipe, then after unlocking swipe down from top for change notification of where to tap to change the connection type.
Prolly find photos of everything online.
Also, you can run adb commands to pull files from your device.
Look how helpful google is:

The simplest method is to connect one plus one from twrp and transfer all the data

Fingerprint issues

Hi everyone. I have an issues with my fingerprint sensor on my device (XQ-AS72,Android11 : 58.1.A.5.441) It's stopped working. When i'm trying to use it, i get a message like : "wipe the fingerprint sensor and try again". So, my hands are clean and the fingerprint sensor too.
I've checked a service test fingerprint sensor from service menu and i've got a message that sensor is not ok. I've tried to boot in safe menu-same problem. I've tried to make a factory reset for a few times. Sometimes it's start working correctly, but not for a long time. When it works, i can see in service test a message that sensor is ok. After the last factory reset, i even can't add a new fingerprint, but if my phone will be off for a few hours, it works, for a few time. Looks like it's a firmware problem, isn't it?
Any ideas to fix it? Thanks.
P.S. I did nothing with my firmware, bootloader, etc. Stock version.
Same thing here, I have receive the last update few days ago : 58.1.A.5.507 on my device : XQ-AS72. Since the update I had have few message when unlocking through fingerprint sensor : "wipe the fingerprint sensor and try again" but fingers and sensor are clean, it was working though. But now this morning my device wont accept any fingerprint anymore. I have restart it in safe mode (doesnt know that mode exist before btw), and try to use fingerprint sensor, message appear : "wipe the fingerprint sensor and try again" in a loop then new message "retry in 30sec" and samething again and again. So my fingerprint doesnt work anymore.
Furthermore : Since a few days I have noticed a battery drain, and trying to understood whats use so much battery, now I thinks it's all came from the fingerprint reader.
If you have any ideas, let me know
I have the same problem and I guess it's related to the latest update. I'm running 58.1.A.5.507.
The problem seems to disappear when the phone is cold like leaving it in the car while you're shopping. As soon as it's up to operating temperature, the sensor just dies.
A factory reset didn't helped either.
I've found this post, but for another model with the same problem.

Seems like a bad news...
Anyway, my device is under a warranty my device is under warranty, so I took it to the service.
Thx for the link. Service Menü reports a faulty fpr. I'll try it again when the device is cold.
Well, as I mentioned before, when the device is cold the sensor works just fine.
I left the device for 15 minutes in the fridge , took it out and it unlocked without problems.
Then I went into the service menu to test the fingerprint sensor. As exoected, it passed the test.
I'm no expert but there might to be a resistance problem with the sensor.
Well, you are lucky, cause when I'm trying to test the fingerprint from a service menu, I usually get an error that sensor is not ok

It didn't last long
I repeated the test when the device is warm (while charging). And it failed again
Could you try the test again when the device is cold? Put it in the fridge for 15 minutes. No need to turn it off.
Like I said before, I gave the phone for repair under warranty and now I'm waiting for the result
But I remember, that it's worked fine sometimes, for a few minutes after reboot,or a factory reset...
There is another solution-you can try to install the last version of Android 10,to check is it a software problem or not, if your device warranty was gone. It's not hard
