Soft-bricked phone, don't boot even after Odin :( - Samsung Galaxy A51 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, I bought Samsung SM-A515F/DSN in Lithuania, 2 years and 7 months ago. This phone had one problem (as many others), when you install application and then update it, phone would store some files from older version of the app, in unaccessible area (can be reached only with Root, but I didn't want to do that), long story short, when memory was compeletly filled, phone stucked on this screen on boot ->

I can't get into recovery, all I can do, is "Download Mode"...
What I've tried?
1) Getting into recovery, holding power and vol+ buttons, when phone vibrates, release power button, no result, not matter for how long I am hold vol+ button (tried up to 3 minutes).
2) Getting into recovery, holding power and vol+ buttons and just hold them both, no result, not matter for how long I am hold (tried up to 3 minutes).
3) Getting into recovery via ADB (from Samsung Galaxy A51 logo, and from Download Mode), adb simply doesn't see my phone.
4) As I mentioned earlier, I can get into Download Mode, and I thought I just need to install stock ROM (I was wrong), if I go into Download Mode, it says "Carrier ID : EUX" which stand for European Union, but there is no firmware for such region, on firmwares from Sammobile or anywhere else in the internet. I tried to flash firmwares for Italy, Greece and Vietnam. Odin says "Pass" but phone still stucked on that screen. I tried to flash it few times, I also ticked "Nand-erase" and "Re-Partition", with correct PIT file (extracted from CSC file of the firmware).
5) Tried to install TWRP (which I get from here), now I have warning sign on bottom of "Samsung Galaxy A51", but I still can't get into recovery, and phone still stucked...
6) I tried to Unlock bootloader and lock it back, nothing.
Please help me guys..."Take it to Samsung" or "Take it to Service" not an option, and by the common sence, if I am able to get into "Download Mode" phone should boot up ;(

Make sure you connect your phone to PC otherwise it simply won't boot to recovery

Also, the trick for a successful boot to recovery is that you need to have the buttons pressed as soon as the phone boots up. What most people do is they force a reboot (vol- button and power) and immediately after the screen turns off, you hold vol+ and power so that it boots to recovery. If you press the buttons after the phone already "turned on" so to speak, it won't work.

I see you mention that Odin says pass but, does it take a while? Or are you immediately getting the "PASS" making it seem like it's really not installing anything?

Nope at this point I don't know what your problem could be
I wouldn't rule out dead motherboard.

try getting your cpu repelled .. but it will work for few weeks then die again

It's a common problem in A51 .. replaced my phone because of it

[Q] Soft brick and no ROM?

Looks like I have soft brick and no ROM.
I have rooted Samsung GT-S7562 Galaxy S Duos, and I wanted to falsh a PMP_U500_GT-S7562.zip ROM.
I managed to install CWM using Odin.
Then I obtained ROM manager from Play Store, and restarted to a recovery mode (before the restart I was asked wither to wipe -- I said yes, do it). On restart I've chosen PMP_U500_GT-S7562.zip on sdcard and pressed install. It did something, and restarted to a screen with a yellow triangle and an exclamation mark.
The only thing that works -- is Vol+ Home Power combination -- it brings me to a ARM9 mode RAMDUMP mode. If during this I plug the phone to windows kies tries to connect to it, but never seems to succed, and Odin sees the phone.
I tried to put recovery.tar the same way I did when installing CWM. The proccess seems eternal.
Any ideas on what I may try to do with odin? Since odin seems the only thing which can get to my phone now.
I also tried OneClick.jar to no success on Windows and on Linux.

Your key combo is wrong, recovery is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Duos/GT-S7562#Recovery_Mode
But anyway since your phone is borked, I would advise an ODIN reflash. Get the proper ROM image for your device and flash it in download mode.
See here: http://www.idroidspace.com/original-stock-rom-for-galaxy-s-duos-gt-s7562/
Best of luck and do take care while doin an ODIN flash, a wrong step and you are gonna end up with an expensive paperweight.

Oh I solved it.
Get into a download mode
Remove batary for a moment. Then install it, press VolDown+Power+Home for some 5 seconds, then press VolUp. After this connect phone to PC (with Kies installed).
Odin (version 1.85) in the PDA field choose stock_recovery.tar file.
This will reboot Your phone. Get into the download mode again. This time in the PDA field choose [StockRom].tar.md5
This will reboot phone to a working state. Try to flash a custom rom in a week or something.

[HELP!!] Hardbrick after installing TWRP

Hi guys,
So today i tried to install TWRP on my Galaxy S8+ with odin
after reboot it asked for somekind of reset so i did but TWRP wasnt installed.
I tried it again but before it rebooted i checked if TWRP got installed and still no TWRP
so i flashed it again without booting in to the phone.
Phone reboots.. well actually NOT.
its not booting up and keeps showing me the Samsung Galaxy S8+ text with powered by Android below.
So now i tried to flash the stock firmware again but odin keeps saying FAIL (DeviceInfo).
i only can get into download mode, recovery mode buttons doesnt work.
also tried it with Smartswitch & Kies but after downloading the firmware it wont recognize my phone.
Please someone help? i really dont know what to do anymore...
You can download Samsung Smart Switch and choose the emergency software recovery option. You'll loose everything on the phone but it sounds
as if you're already there.
It will ask for your phone serial and exact model no., then it will download the latest release and install.
Usually will work from the screen your on, but if a prob., boot into download mode.

What device model do you have?
I assume its a 955F or FD?
Please dont tell me you have a U version.
sent from my Note FE, S8 plus, S7 edge or S6
1. Download earlier firmware AQF7
2. Hold power, volume down and bixby button for download mode
3. Open Odin on your PC
4. Add the AQF7 BL and only this
5. Hit start and straight after this hold the 3 buttons in again power, volume down and bixby (this should fail at first and bring you straight back into download mode)
6. Now back on Odin spam the start button this time (this should flash the BL and have you sorted again)

This - you probably have the newer AQG5 bootloader, which TWRP doesn't support yet.
So follow the instructions above, flash back to the previous bootloader, the you'll be able to flash TWRP ok.

I had the same issue once before. What the fail device info. I think I fixed it by using the most recent update (I think). And messing around with csc files. All this was done half assed in desperation. Then went back to the unlocked firmware and stopped messing with it. Yes Smart switch didn't do crap. Use updato.com to obtain your firmwares

I bricked my S7. Please help me.

Yesterday I tried flashing G930U firmware on my G930VL S7 hearing that it works. Big mistake. The device now only loops on the "Samsung Galaxy S7" logo and I can't get into recovery mode or download mode. Is there a way to fix this, or is my phone toast?

make sure you are using the lastest G930U firmware from Sammobile and use the version of Odin from this website
Even though your phone is in a boot loop you can still enter download mode. It does not matter what the phone is doing just press and hold, volume down+home+power until download mode appears, then flash firmware with Odin.

Samsung Galaxy A20e (SM-A202F/DS) bootloop | No more Download mode available

Hello,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy A20e, model name : SM-A202F/DS
First I unlocked the boot-loader,
then I flashed a TWRP custom recovery that I downloaded here :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Nbrmn7BgA3BxA1bqnLXYMuCY4KjpR0Vn/view
The custom recovery was working well. I tried to flash an another kernel in order to flash another system (various Android GSI I could find).
Apart from one kernel that seams to be flashed correctly from TWRP, no System would boot at any time.
So I decided to go back to the stock ROM of the phone temporarily.
To do so I found one on the internet, went to Download mode, and tried to flash it with Odin (v3.14.1).
The flash was unsuccessful. At that point I came with a blue screen (similar to download mode) telling me that I should use Samsung emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software.
I installed this software (made all updates available) and went to the dedicated section. Unfortunately, no phone could be detected for recovery. But the PC could still detect the phone at that time.
So I decided to flash just the kernel (from stock archive) with Odin if I remember well. (unchecked other parts).
And since that, my phone is bootloop-ing when I plug it to the computer.
The screen first displays classic Samsung logo with model phone name and warning due to unlocked boot-loader.
And 2 seconds later, a little portion of the screen (top left) displays a message starting with:
“KERNEL REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 3, BI…” I can’t read the rest due to the front camera placement. I found results on the internet that it could be “kernel rev check fail-device:3 binary:x boot” for example. This message and only the text part is “backgrounded” with the same color as the Download mode blue color. And 5 seconds later the phone reboot for the same sequence.

I tried all combinations that could possibly bring me to the download mode or any recovery that could still be there.
Vol UP + Vol DOWN
Vol UP + Vol DOWN + PWR
Vol UP + PWR
Vol DOWN + PWR
Vol UP + Cable Plug
Vol DOWN + Calble Plug
Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Cable Plug
etc
The phone is still bootloop-ing if let plugged (USB to PC or USB to Charger), and get never detected by the computer. Neither on Windows 10 (previously detecting the phone) nor on Linux with "ADB devices" or "Fastboot devices" commands. I used 2 different cables including the one given with the phone.
I found a post on this forum, telling it could be due to damaged power button. I opened the phone, unlike the side panel buttons cable from the motherboard, same result.
If you have any ideas, they are welcome

There're obviously an Android and an iOS version available but they are paid applications.
It is paid but you don't need to pay for it, you can still use it without paying, It will still get you into download mode, that's free
Hey guys,
I just brought my phone (samsung SM-a202f) back from the dead it was stuck in emercency mode (asking to connect to smart switch) after I did something wrong flashing TWRP. I did it a million times but appearently I screwed up because my phone was stuck in the emercency mode bootloop and Odin did see the phone in emercency mode, but could not flash stock rom with or without bootloader.
I knew I had the right firmware (thanks to samfirm) and found the PIT file in the SCS .tar.md5 file. Just remove the .md5 of the name of the scs file and then unzip so you have the PIT file. What you do is feed that to odin under the pit tab and then use Odin like you normally would use it to flash a complete Rom on it.
Hope this helps someone. Happy 2022!

Samsung Tab s2 SM-T819 flash from Lineage 17.1 to stock - HOW TO?

I bought a used Samsung Tab S2 SM-T819 with Lineage 17.1 already installed.
I would like to install the original stock firmware. Is this possible? If it is, how exactly do I do this?
I apologize if this question has been asked a trillion times, just trying to get the best method to use in 2021. I'm looking for the method with the least chance of bricking the device.
Thanks

Thanks for the info.
I followed the instructions on the link you posted.
I used ODIN, everything looked good, I got a green "passed" flash.
The tablet looked like it was rebooting, then "installing security updates" was displayed on the tablet screen for about 20 seconds. It looked like it was rebooting, however the "Samsung" logo on screen is going dim/bright and it will not boot.
I tried holding the power button down for 30 seconds and I can't get it to turn off, or restart.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks.
update: I can use ODIN to flash other ROMs, but after the flashing process is complete "green passed" light displayed in ODIN, the tablet will not reboot. It hangs at the Samsung splash screen; I've waited about 20 minutes.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

As I said earlier, I can't get into recovery mode, but I can flash ROMs with ODIN all day long?
My procedure for ODIN: click AP > choose downloaded .tar file > click start
The ODIN/flashing process seems to be working fine, I get a "green passed" displayed in ODIN every time a flash is completed.
This is the first time I've flashed an Android device, so I'm not sure what is "normal" to be displayed on the tablet after flash completion. Immediately after flash completion, I'm getting an "system update" then an "erasing" immediately after that, then an infinite "Samsung" is displayed.
Is the "erasing" displayed on the tablet normal?
Thanks for your help
UNCHECK "auto reboot" in Odin
Disconnect when flash complete Do Not Turn The Phone On
Reboot into recovery volume up+home+power
Wipe cache/factory rest
Reboot
Thanks for the info Kenora
I tries what you said, but after the flash completed, I still couldn't get into recovery mode.
When I hold down the volume up+ home+ power nothing happens; the tablet is completely unresponsive to those buttons. I pressed them for about 10 seconds, this should be enough, correct?
I can get into download mode like before, reboot that way, but the same thing as before; it hangs at "Samsung"
When I forced it to reboot, "booting recovery" was displayed in the upper left corner; is this normal?
Hold POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN until the screen goes blank then immediately change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other buttons until recovery boots.
Thanks Kenora,
I'm in recovery mode now.
But, I have another question.
Should I select "wipe data/factory reset"
OR
"Wipe cache partition"

Do both.
Wipe data first then cache i guess just for precaution.
Thanks a lot for your help Kenora,
It's booting now and everything is Good To Go.
Thanks again for your help.

Go to Download mode and flash the stock rom that way
I tried what you said but when I try to reboot into recovery I get a screen with "installing system updates" which changes to "erasing" before it restarts to eventually hang on the Samsung logo. If I then reboot again, I get an error screen with with a fallen droid with yellow exclamation mark and the text "no command". Is there something I need to do in TWRP before flashing the system ROM so that the tablet can boot into the stock rom's recovery without going through the update first?
