Hello, I have a Redmi 9A in the default stock state (no unlocked bootloader and default recovery, no TWRP).
After a random shutdown while using it normally, it's stuck in a bootloop in the default recovery.
I've read other threads, and I think I can try to recover it by using SP Flash Tool (please confirm if this is correct), but I'm more concerned about the data inside the device.
Can I somehow recover the data before flashing it, or is it impossible to do that since my bootloader is locked?
Thanks.
Well I don't think you can recover data I guess, maybe if you only select download not format + download in sp flash tool but maybe you brick again your phone.
it boots to recovery, so use adb or mount internal storage. you can also dirtyflash ROM

Sorry for the delay, been doing some reading on these things.
By using adb, do you mean using adb pull to get the files? In the recovery, Connect to MI Assistant only gets the device in sideload, so I don't think that's possible. Don't have the option to mount storage either.
You have sideload?? If yes open adb in pc and type : adb sideload file.zip ( your rom ** btw you need recovery rom not fastboot**) idk if you will delete data or no
I tried that, but without success apparently. The rom is loading for some time, and then reports the error:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
what(): std::bad_alloc
From what I've read, it might be due to a bad driver installation, I will look at it and update

Reinstalled drivers, still returns the same error.
try older ROMs - either you have faulty hardware or some minor bug

I've tried to sideload the latest recovery ROMs for 12.0 and 12.5, the device was 12.5 when it "crashed". Should I try MIUI 11, or is it enough with older 12 versions?

That's the one I've tried already, it's the latest 12.0 version.
I guess I'll try to use SP Flash Tool, but it looks like the hardware is messed up...
Ok, a bit late but I'm going to update just in case anyone faces the same problem.
After trying every option with no success, I gave up on recovering user data and wiped all data from the stock recovery menu, and that solved the bootloop somehow. I'm guessing an app was messing up the system, but I don't know.
Thanks @Rares6567 and @yaro666 for your help.

Hey folks; I'm hoping I can get some advice or pointers, or maybe just a slap upside the head with something I've missed.
I have one of the original Shield tablets, and played around with it quite a lot, installing various custom ROMs from the marvelous directions I've found here. When the battery thing happened, I submitted the required info and happily received my new tablet. The original was rooted and customised still, kill-switch averted, and I had two working tablets. I gave the new stock one to my wife.
But then, about three months ago, I was playing with mine again installing a newer ROM than the one I was using (I *think* I was going from an older Bliss rom to one of the Cyanogen), and ... Something Happened (tm). The tablet rebooted in the middle of everything, and now won't boot to an image.
I'm on Windows 10 now, and had some fun getting the drivers working, but they seem to. I can communicate with the tablet through Fastboot, but ADB doesn't see it. I've flashed several versions of TWRP to the tablet, and can boot into that recovery - both through Fastboot and the tablet's power+vol-dn buttons. I've used TWRP to flash several different ROMs, and it *appears* to work (there are no errors), but when I reboot the tablet .... nada. Nothing but the Nvidia boot screen for days.
So now... what have I missed? I'm a little reluctant to flash a stock ROM, but I'm at a loss. I used to have more time to fiddle and figure, and I'm afraid that my impatience is going to kill the thing.
Format system and data see if that works
You need to have the latest bootloader to run the latest roms.

so you wan t your "burning" tablet set again stock?
Did you read about "recovery images" for shield tablet?
If fastboot is working you can flash the recovery image and all will update to the latest(blob, system, boot, etc)
flash latest twrp for shieldtablet.
after that use the nomoreota.zip to prevent the software brick from nvidida

No, I don't want it stock at all, I was just worried that was my only option to get this thing to respond again. I was running BlissPop v.somethingorother, but wanted to update. That's when things went awry.
Right, well it looks like I've got this thing going. I could flash TWRP 3.1.0-0, but not any 3.1.1. Cyanogenmod 12 worked. Reading up a little more (it got slow at work for a couple of days...) I flashed the firmware to 5.0, and could now install TWRP 3.1.1-1! Then I could install (in this case) Lineage 14.1, which *almost* worked. It booted, but there's no wifi.
Then I found a suggestion - I think it was on these forums somewhere - and restarted. Wiped all data again, flashed Cyanogenmod 12, no gapps. Restarted, checked everything including wifi, and is good. Rebooted back into recovery, performed a factory reset, then installed Lineage 14.1 and gapps. When it rebooted, everything is working!
So. Firmware. Huh.
Thanks all.

do not know if you need the bootloader(blob) from nougat to boot up, that lafester told you. but that sounds plausible. skooter says something from re-formating. so if you tried that all and nothing changes? cache and data partition you wiped also, so it has to be work for my understanding.
went always stock, so can t help you..
but you can use recovery images > twrp > bliss/linage. no need to boot up stock?

I have had similar issues and I tried everything even this plus what harm is it going to be and as the fellow below said if ur in fastboot and recovery with no issues then surely u should be flashing stick to fix Ur problem ?
After i wanted to install Android P, i got a bootloop. so i wanted to go to twrp but now my files are encrypted and twrp is not asking for a pin or pattern so i can't decrypt my internal storage files.
Now the biggest problem is that i just came back from a family weekend and i made a lot of pictures, witch i can't acces now, and i really want them back.
Now i can't install a new os or anything ...
Can someone please help me! i'm really despirate
(sorry for my bad english)
Try downgrading twrp , night get it to ask for pin
downgrading is never the answer. In fact, that will cause this problem to happen. Now i must ask, are you temp booting twrp or is twrp installed to phone.
I got this when I temp booted the mtp enabled twrp the other day, although it still asked for my passcode and said description was successful. When I rebooted the installed (official) twrp it all came back....

Now i am booting from temp twrp, before that i got the latest twrp installed
Bringing this back up... Did booting from temp twrp work? Ran into the same issue.
Temp boot and use the usb c to pull ur data from the device to a computer. After that you can wipe and start over. Unbricking guide available in the help section
Having the same issue. If I boot using fastboot TWRP I'm able to decrypt data. I did that and flashed stock OOS and the same TWRP version (BluSpark) that was used in the fastboot. But the folders are still encrypted. It's weird how a fastboot can decrypt it but a regular recovery boot can't. Is there any alternatives available?
I'm in the process of backing up my data before I officially bite the bullet.

Hi guys
I was trying some of custom rom on my OP6 and I wanted to go back to Oxygen OS. So i did a clean installation with system wipe and i flashed the last full OTA update. But since i can't boot to system anymore, TWRP always displays that there is no OS installed despite the fact that I've tried several rom . Is this the first time it's done this to me how can I fix it?

The best suggestion I can give you is to flash stock oos with TWRP, reboot to stock recovery, without flashing anything else, wipe data from stock recovery and startup system.. if it is working you can flash back TWRP and magisk if you need it
Just be careful because at your point is easy to lose all of your stored data

If you wipe system, then flash oos ROM, TWRP will think there is no os. You can just ignore and boot.
Wiping system then flashing any time will make twrp display "no os installed" it does this because it hasn't created files for twrp to check if you have a ton installed. Flashing twrp then rebooting to twrp fixes it.
Reboot to stock recovery?

Hi, need a little bit of support, since I'm new to this as well. I was in a working OOS open beta 25/28, but then I think I flashed the wrong zip (OOS 9.0.9?), and I was not able to boot to system. It kept going to "bootloader unlocked" screen and custom recovery. Currently in TWRP blu_spark 3.3.1-x v. 9.109, and it's showing me no OS installed when I attempt to reboot. I haven't rebooted to system yet.
All the folders in my /sdcard is gibberish... if I try to push a file to it, it says "Required key not available." I did remove all security/passwords from my phone before doing any updates/backups.
I completed a wipe cache/dalvik/system via TWRP, and flashed the OOS OTA stable Android 10 zip downloaded directly from OnePlus Support. Considering this situation, do you still think it's safe for me to reboot to system? Then how do I get to stock recovery from there--is that by holding down the buttons?

No, your internal storage Is like trash cause the last rom you flashed has older security patch than oos10. Your device Is now encrypted and wont boot to system. I Guess you have to erase all via MSN tool or fastboot signed rom. Even if you wiped what mentioned above, your problem still be the data.
Fastboot method?

Thank you for replying. I'm relieved that you know of a couple methods to try.
Is using "Format Data" in TWRP an option for dealing with the encryption??
For the MSN tool, can I use this one? Tried looking around, but it's unclear. "[TOOL] MsmDownloadTool V4.0 International (Oxygen OS 5.1.5)" https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...wnloadtool-v4-0-international-t3798892/page10
I would be more comfortable with using fastboot, but am I at any risk of having lost fastboot, or can I just turn off my device from TWRP right now and hold down the buttons to get there? Afraid to move out of TWRP right now, in case I can't get back. I do have twrp-3.3.1-18-enchilada-Q-mauronofrio.img that I can run from fastboot if needed.
By "signed rom," do you mean I can simply flash one of the zips here from fastboot? "[OnePlus 6][ROM][OTA][Oxygen OS] Mirrors for official Oxygen OS ROMs and OTA updates" https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/oneplus-6-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-t3792244

That's awesome, I'm starting to grasp how much of a genius Mauronofrio is, after so many people referencing his work.
In his guide, he says, "These ROMs can't be used to update or downgrade your phone but just to restore your phone, so don't use them to come back to oreo or to update from oreo to pie." This may be a dumb question, but how do I know which zip/OOS version to flash, when I don't have a functioning OS on my phone?

That worked! And starstruck that you were able to check that with him. I flashed Mauronofrio's fastboot ROM for 10.3.2 and it rebooted (WOW). I clicked through the Google setup pages and checked that my data and wifi worked.
I then went back into fastboot, booted M's twrp img, fomatted data, and then installed twrp-3.3.1-x_blu_spark_v9.109_op6.zip, rebooted into recovery.
Then I think I made a mistake, because I installed Magisk-v20.4.zip. It succeeded, but now I can't boot into system anymore. Is it too late to flash the 10.3.2 boot.img?

I followed that thread for the first A10 release cause there wasn't a worked twrp yet. You are welcome man, when I feel myself usefull I always try to help.
In trying to root my Nokia 3, I installed TWRP custom recovery but realised that I forgot to install magisk manager. Upon rebooting the phone out of TWRP recovery mode my Nokia 3 is now stuck in a boot loop such that whenever I turn the device off or reboot it, either from adb or TWRP, the device inevitably only reboots in fastboot mode. Even using the fastboot reboot command doesn't work and only boots it up again only for it to enter fastboot mode immediately.
This means that I can't access the phone as usual meaning I'm unable to download the magisk.zip file I need to install magisk. I tried cloning the git-master and sideloading that from my computer but it said invalid .zip format.
Any idea what I can do?

I don't see how I might have done this seeing as I'd guess such a thing would only be possible if I had root on my device. I haven't rooted it yet.
But if I'm mistaken on that, using the TWRP file manager shows an empty /boot/ directory. Is there any way I can restore normal functionality to my device? I just need to be able to get magisk on there so I can install in through TWRP and then root the phone so I can get a custom ROM

No. I haven't installed a custom ROM. It was the default android 8.0 OS. I haven't been able to root the phone yet because I don't have magisk manager installed.
The only thing I've installed has been TWRP custom recovery. As I understand it, you can't even install custom ROMS unless the phone is already rooted.

Ok then. I haven't actually been able to find any ROMS for the Nokia 3 other than the stock ROM.
Do you know of any custom ROMS for the device?

I ran adb sideload on the update.zip file downloaded from here.
It seems to have restored my nokia 3 device's recovery to a stock recovery.
Attempting to reboot the device merely reboots it to the stock recovery mode. I cannot seem to get it to reboot into the phone's normal state.
In addition, adb, even while running under root permissions, can no longer detect the device.
I have tried wiping the device, factory resetting it, but the device refuses to reboot into it's normal mode. I can only reboot it into stock recovery or the bootloader.

Make sure bootloader is unlocked. In fact if it turned back into stock recovery is because the ROM is already installed. Try to repeat the instalation process using TWRP and try to use another version of the stock ROM.

My phone randomly decided it'd revert back to TWRP custom recovery today but I still can't access the main operating mode of the phone. Do you know where I can find either a custom ROM for the Nokia 3 or the stock ROM? All instructions I find online seem to be in broken english so I'm having some difficulty following a lot of the guides as they're rather vague

As mentioned in my previous post, my phone reverted back to TWRP custom recovery for some reason. I tried sideloading the Magisk.zip file and it said it successfully flashed it, but now my Android system has reverted back to the standard Android recovery, booting into it by default.
it says
"alps/NE1_00WW_FIH/NE1
7.1.1/NMF260/00WW_2_15A
/user/release-keys"
at the top.

The bootloader was unlocked at some point but I guess it must have locked itself again at some stage when I reset it. Though now that my phone seems to be stuck in bootloader mode and stock recovery mode exclusively, I'm not able to view the serial number in settings as that's something one may only do when the normal mode of the device can be accessed.
I'd use adb to retrieve the serial number of the device but adb doesn't seem to be able to detect my device. I have the necessary drivers on my computer and am running on root privileges but it seems it can't detect it if it's not in the normal operating mode. Any idea how I can get the serial number?

I think before flashing magisk we should make sure the OS is ok, can you write the specific phone model?, "Nokia 3" is not an specific number. Then we should be able to find at least a stock ROM.

Thanks, But all of the links on that thread to nokia 3 firmware are dead. In the meantime I used the adb push command to upload the magisk.zip file to my device as well as the Lineage 14.1 custom ROM which I got from here and tried installing both of them using TWRP. TWRP said both were successful but on reboot, my phone is once again stuck in the orange state at the boot screen.

Ow, I didn't check that, my bad. Have you tried to flash only LOS?, generally the problem with LOS is that you need to have installed the stock ROM for it to function well, if you wipe and then flash LOS it will say "successful" but it won't start.
Or at least at my experience

Are you sure you haven't deleted the ROM by accident?, that same thing happened to me before.

we've established that I must have somehow accidentally deleted the ROM in installing TWRP.
You mentioned you accidentally deleted the ROM. How did you go about fixing your problem?
I've looked everywhere online for Nokia 3 TA-1032 stock firmware but all I can find are dead google drive links. How did you fix your issue? Or was yours with a different model of phone?

Mine was with an Asus, and the only way I could fix the horrible bootloop was managing to install the stock un-official ROM made from a well known developer. I just did a short research on this case, and all the solutions on internet say you need the ROM like I just told you, so I think there is no way if we cannot find a ROM for the device.
Hi guys, I'm at my wits end with my flashing experience currently.
I just unlocked my K30 PZ, and was messing around with manuelbianco's TWRP, and I seem to have effectively softlocked my phone
I'm pretty tired and have no idea how I ended up here, so all I can really post is what I can observe.
It's constantly stuck in bootloop, and while I have access via fastboot as well as LR-TEAM TWRP(MB doesnt work, boots to logo then goes to black screen), nothing I do seems to be able to break my bootloop.
Attempting to flash MIUI via miflash results in the attempt getting stuck on super.img, while flashing by XiaoMiTool also has the same effect, with the added exit code 1.
Also noteworthy is that according to twrp, "/vendor", "/product" and "/odm" all fail to mount due to invalid arguement, which I have no idea about.
I've attempted to manually mount them via twrp, and try and flash stock miui, however there is no change in the behavior.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Do you want a miui stock rom or eu roms or aosp roms?
My end goal is an AOSP rom like arrowOS or evolutionX.
I tried flashing arrowOS after everything had happened. It seems to flash normally, but on reboot it's shows the POCO logo then proceeds to bootloop

1/flash this twrp with fasboot command https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17248734326145679747
2/Twrp wipe format data write yes, reboot twrp
3/otg the rom or push in internal storage
4/flash rom(firmware)
5/format data again reboot twrp
6/flash rom(with the op instructions)

Final update before I sleep
I've followed the steps, and managed to get arrowOS to boot screen
But I waited 20 mins for initial boot, and was stuck at the loading screen
Formatted data again to retry, and am now letting it run for as long as I can, but so far I'm 15 mins in now and have not seen anything more than the initial boot loading screen.
Thanks for the help, cheers

format data yes,reboot twrp
flash the rom https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...MK30Pro_V12.2.1.0.RJKCNXM_v12-11.zip/download
reboot system
nothing else
first boot take 5/6 minutes.
if the phone restarts on this rom you will be sure that the correct firmware is installed

So I formatted data, wiped all except OTG and then flashed the xiaomi.eu rom
Phone simply goes back into 2 bootloops before booting into twrp
Also to note, in advanced wipe system partition is missing in twrp. There is an option to mount, but it never shows up in wipe.
