I tried for my first time to unlock my phone's bootloader and thought it was something really easy to customize the
phone firmware on the other hand was not what I thought and I don't know much about computer science or customizing a firmware;
and then without being able to install a root or any modification I decided to re-lock the bootloader (because i dont want it anymore) only that I did not succeed with various tutorials and I did not find any for the samsung galaxy a12. I just unlocked the bootloader from developer options settings and ran what the tutorial said on how to activate it without installing a root or customization of anything.
can someone please help me.

Well it shouldn't be hard really. How did you unlock it in the first place?
Wait, is it really so hard to lock the bootloader on Samsung devices? Makes me think twice about buying one now if I can't simply lock it with a command like fastboot oem lock.

It's not hard to relock as its not hard to unlock it.
If you've followed any unlocking bootloader tutorial, after enabling OEM unlock option, you have to enter downlod mode and long press the volume up to enter unlock mode and then procedd to actually unlocking it.
For relocking it, just go to the download mode again, then long press the volume up and you'll have the option to re-lock it.

Samsung phones have a download mode instead of a fastboot mode, so you can't use commands like fastboot oem unlock

Hi all,
I have a Straight Talk Galaxy A20, model SM-S205DL. Will root instructions work for this model? I don't notice an OEM unlock option in the Developer Mode menu, but I can boot in download mode. Thoughts? It's been a while since I tried to install custom firmware.

Some places claim to be able to change the CID of the phone. Would that help? I imagine once able to load different non-TFN BS firmware on the phone that magic developer option may appear. Or is it a hardware thing and the exynos chip has something to do with it? Not sure how it all works yet. Anyone know what the unlocked us retail model contains?
I'm not smart enough to find out so hopefully someone is and reads this and can chime in regarding all the points...

there are paid for services run by people, some of them use this site, where your phones bootloader can be unlocked either remotely or via a one use only token and instructions. not sure about A32 but on Galaxy S series phones it costs about 75 dollars US. search here you should find something, a link to a Telegram group probably.

How are they able to bypass Samsung's lock? I don't think paying is worth it to get unlocked, esp over the internet where it could be a scam.

you can join a telegram group full of people either waiting for or already had their bootloaders unlocked. it is quite pricey but it's not a scam (based on the people I've seen doing it) a moderator here used to do it and people have posted about being happy with the service they got.
if it not via that route there currently isn't any other way to unlock bootloaders for US Samsung phones
Be aware when you update ROM after that.
Later version ROM can lock bootloader again and current token may not unlock again

Yes. I've used these instructions https://www.naldotech.com/root-samsung-galaxy-a32-magisk/
I've used boot.img to patch, and then flashed with odin, worked as a charm.
Turn on Odin mode - by shutdding down your phone, then holding Volume Up + Down, then long hold Volume Up to unlock bootloader, You might need to reboot afterwards, also factory reset is(will be) a must.
Just shut down after that, redo holding Volume Up + Down, then long hold Volume Up, I cannot remember exactly, but I think after that it was once pressing Volume Down to have proper odin download mode to use patched image.
Select patched magisk image patched from/by boot/recovery.img.lz4 archive.

I had an option, starting with tapping on build name to enable dev tools, enabling it then Vol Up + Vol Down.
Please feel free to verify images taken after root been aquired. (magisk image was patched on unrooted os at the time)
The OEM unlock itself in dev options is not doing complete OEM unlock, until contected to PC while Volume Up + Volume Down is presse
d, then loader gives option to do proper OEM unlock.
You're welcome.
Upon entering download mode by holding both volume buttons and connecting a cable, the following options are shown:
Volume Up: Continue
Volume Down: Cancel (reset phone)
Side Key: Show Barcode
Looking through other threads/guides, it seems that there should be an option to hold volume up to unlock the bootloader. When pressing volum up the following is shown:
ODIN MODE
DOWNLOAD SPEED: FAST
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
KG STATE: ACTIVE
FRP LOCK: OFF
OEM LOCK: ON(U1)

Since you have unlocked the bootloader, you won't do it again. You have to lock it first, if possible (I have no experience with this model).

Nope. OEM unlock is not turned on in settings. neither is USB debugging.
So you're saying you locked the bootloader on custom firmware, and while Android still runs, you can't unlock it again?
This is why you should NEVER lock the bootloader on custom firmware.

Sorry to hear that. If you're unable to unlock the bootloader with fastboot commands, I don't think there's anything you can do. I assume you don't have root?
you try and EDL cable yet? if you don't have one you can make one by stripping back a bit of insulation and shorting the black and green together with the device off, then at the same time click all three buttons 3-4 times until you see the 9008 port show up in device monitor (WINDOWS)
if that fails and you're feeling brave (or you have really good anti-virus software) you could always give something like this a shot
