Hi,
I got a brand new LG G Pro 2 (Korean F350L version) in Canada. Everything works great except for the GPS which never get a lock. I upgraded the firmware (Sphinx V5a, stock 5.0...), factory reset, tried various GPS apps (GPS Status and test, FasterGPS...), but I still don't get any lock. On GPS Status Test & Fix, I always get 0/22 except once I got 4/20 but still no lock.
Does anybody have an idea of what to do to get a GPS lock? Any reason why a Korean version would not work in north America?
After reading a lot, I came to a likely conclusion that there may be a bad contact between the board and the GPS antenna. I see several fixes for Nexus 5 and Galaxy S3 or S4. I am willing to try this, but I can't find any schematic for the G Pro 2, so I have no idea where the GPS antenna is.
Does anyone could point me where the GPS antenna really are for the G Pro 2?
Thank you very much for your help!
Anyone?
Hi!
I recently bought a D838 and try to use it here in germany.
Unfortunately I have a similar problem as described in the first post. The phone can't get any GPS fix.
The app "GPS status" shows several satellites, but none of them are fixed.
I tried different ROMs, a few gps.conf modifications and let the phone search for a fix for about one hour. But without any positive result.
May that be a hardware problem? Would the phone find satellited, if there is a problem with the hardware?
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thank you!
Hi, mine proved to be hardware defective (likely a bad connection to antenna) and I had it replaced (so did not attempt a repair). The replacement worked like a charm. Basically, if you can have a replacement, I would go that route, otherwise, you could try to attempt a repair at a repair shop to resolder the antenna...
Thx for your answer. I will try to get a new device (or get it repaired - we will see).
Meanwhile I got another device, which shows the same behaviour.
Does anyone else have any idea what that problem may be?
In a absolutely free area in a hill I managed to get a GPS fix. At other places the phone can't get a fix.
Me LG G flex beside that has a good signal with fix, even in buildings.
I am really not an expert. It seems to me that both devices are defective in the sense that your GPS antennas are disconnected from your GPS chip. The chip can still get a fix without antenna in ideal conditions a bit like old FM radios could still get a strong signal without deploying its antenna). Based on my experience with my local phone repair shop, it would need the antennas to be resoldered on the GPS chip or get a replacement. Good luck!
Hi there,
I just got this phone a week back and am having a lot of issues, making me question the purchase of this phone.
1st off there are a lot of issues with bluetooth, I was using a redmi note 3 before and there were absolutely no issues with connecting to paired bluetooth devices. On honor 6x, connecting - reconnecting a bluetooth device is very inconsistent. Sometimes I have to turn off and turn on bluetooth to pair the device back, also turning on bluetooth after turning it off is slow. Sometimes even this doesnt help and then I have to unpair the bluetooth device and re-pair it to make it work. On the redmi note 3 there was never an issue.
2nd problem is very slow wifi, I have a dual band router (TPLink WDR3600) and the wifi is terribly slow only on the honor 6x, I have a couple of more devices on 2.5ghz band and the speed is good no slowness at all.
I am really at my wits end with this phone, I would be really grateful if you guys could suggest any possible solutions to these problems.

Never had these problems you mentioned and i use bluetoooth all the time connected to my fitbit and wireless earphones
No issues here as well. In fact, I tested the Honor 6X with a Redmi 4 (which supports dual band) and found that Redmi 4 had a comparatively much poor performance than Honor 6X. I was getting almost 1.5x better and consistent speed in Honor 6X.
Never had to use bluetooth with this device though.
Thanks people, I had used google nearby when setting up the Honor 6x and had got all settings transferred from the Redmi Note 3. Looking at all your replies I feel this could be the culprit, I will do a factory reset of the phone and report back, I had already tried clearing cache but no solution.
me too facing WiFi slow issue..

Just change your phone, warranty will cover you!
I have tested bluetooth on multiple devices and no issues, about the wifi, it is the best wifi on a phone that i ever had.
Copy data from wifi as fast as my laptops.
So, it must go to warranty, try maybe a reset before.

I am thinking to get one but I have bad experience with China Company Phone's GPS like GPS dropping issue.
So, what's the GPS receiver for P20 Pro?
How does it compare got S9+ BCM4775X?
Thanks
Don't know the model, but in mine p20 pro GPS is locked/unlocked all the time. What a disaster, can't use Navigon
here cust 605 no problem with GPS working OK.
Hi, I bought a*Sm-t239 Samsung Tab4 as GPS navigator in my Micra Nissan Car (year*2008).
I encountered issue on my GPS system and the tablet often lost my GPS signal and the navigator recalculated always the route.
I searched on Google some tablet*that gets a best Gps system part and I found that Nexus 9 by HTC should be the best one.
But for both tablets I get about same results.
I noticed that for Samsung in Gps Status Toolbox app I get less satellites than Htc tablet and effectively when I go out the tunnels the Htc is faster than Samsung to localize my position.
I use both under windscreen through the stand*but I tried to move tablets on passenger seat and I get the same situation and GPS signal is lost.
I tried to use my OnePlus 5 phone that I arrange on my aeration nozzles and the phone always works fine! It gets abou 32 satellites.
Do you know what's the reason for my issues?

Hi everyone! I have a problem with my Poco x3 Pro and I wanted to see if the same thing happened to someone, or ask for advice to find out where the problem comes from.
I bought a Poco x3 Pro 6 / 128gb 3 months ago, and last month, the wifi began to lose the internet signal since it is still connected to the wifi network but it is as if the signal was cut off, and it is enough to turn off and quickly turn the wifi back on on the phone to regain the signal.
It seems like something that can be quickly corrected, but when I'm playing online, it is quite annoying since suddenly without apparent cause, the Internet is cut off (with Wi-Fi and the network connected).
As additional data, it came with MIUI version 12.0.6 and although I updated to 12.5.2 (I also did a factory reset) the problem continued to occur.
Has anyone happened to you or advise me how can I find out the source of the problem? Since it could be my wifi (I really do not think so, I have a Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 6 Pro and this does not happen, the signal is quite stable) or the same phone.
Thank you and sorry for my english haha
Firstly, 'forget' the WiFi connection on the phone and then turn off your router for a couple of minutes. Boot the router back up and once it's settled down re-connect your phone.
You don't say how often or quickly this occurs but if it does still happen then can you test elsewhere? Either a public WiFi connection or a friends or family members home maybe?
I get similar problem, usually after a night. Phone shows WiFi active, but no Internet connection and no ping to any local device. Other phones have no problems with the same WiFi network. It is enough to turn off WiFi on phone for a moment to get it working again.
My POCO is V12.5.1.0.RJUEUXM.
i have the same problem with my poco x3 pro 8/256, but only with wifi sign 5GHz, with 2G it working nomaly. i use Asus wireless Router RT-AX 55. i think it's isusse update new version, when i update 12.5.2 stable Offical
Since i inserted the SIM card, the problem seems to have stopped, but I don't see a direct relationship.. I will evaluate these weeks.
Maybe it switches to LTE? I have SIM inserted but disabled data and still notice problems.

Did these problems come to you from the beginning?
Yes for me. I didn't use this phone much, while waiting for bootloader unlock. It updated itself to MIUI V12.5.1.0.RJUEUXM at first boot and since then I observed WiFi loosing connection after nearly each night. But I noticed no breaks, while actively using the phone.

It is strange, in my case it will be necessary to test it with another WiFi..
PD: I update, it keeps happening to me, I will only use 4G to play games ..
I switched to ArrowOS and noticed one instance of WiFi failure. Then I disabled random MAC on phone and it seems to work OK now, but is to early to draw any conclusion. I don't remember if random MAC was active in MIUI.
While rare, problem still exist. Effect is that WiFi connection is broken an system cant find AP. But WiFiAnalyzer work OK and shows available AP. Turning WiFi off and on restores connection.
I have disabled protocol 802.11r on my network and for some days I have no more WiFi failures.

Okey bro, let me know if you have the problem again please, thanks.
I believe my problem is solved or rather circumvented and WiFi works OK. I'm using routers with openwrt. Maybe it doesn't cooperate well with Xiaomi.
Have the same problem, unmark "IPV6" and "QoS" in the router settings and problem solved.

Don't connect to 5G wifi on your router, , , Poco X3 pro 4G only that's why you disconnect.

5Ghz works perfectly for me. I presume you mean 2.4Ghz, not 4G?
Edit: or did I miss a 'joke'?

As described by Qualcomm's website the Snapdragon 860 supports 5G and WiFi 6 connections, but the Poco X3 Pro doesn't. Try to switch 2.4G

You've lost me, I connect via 5Ghz and don't have any issues, why would I drop to 2.4Ghz?

I think you are right, I separated the 2.4 and 5 GHz connections inside the router and I connect with the Poco x3 Pro only to the 2.4 and it has been perfect so far.
I will update the thread if there are problems.
Thx.
