3) Wipe cache, system, & data.
4) Flash ROM

Me too facing this problem.
I flashed the crDroidAndroid-9.0-20190528-tiffany-v5.4.zip image to my Mi 5X using TWRP but the device just boots up to a black screen. Eventually it makes sounds as if booted, but still no display.
Can anyone give advice on the above?

Try switching off the device by holding all three buttons, once it switches off, connect the device via usb cable, if it shows realme logo, try pressing Volume down+power. this should take you to fastboot.
My device is RMX1833 and currently it's on C23. So, would this ROM work with that?
Any specific recovery is required for flashing this rom?

Well now I'm confused! Does going from 6 to 7 count as a first time install or an update?
That's a new installation, be sure to backup all the stuff you need!!
Has someone already tested if android auto/miracast works?
I'll answer my own questions:
- Miracast/WiDi works
- Android Auto does not (the notification asking to connect appears, after confirming: nothing happens)
- SafetyNet does not pass (Magisk says basic integrity + cts profile failed)
- GPay does not work as a result
Other than that, the battery drain seems to be similar to MIUI 12.
I'll keep my eye on this, but with only 1/4 of the things I need daily working, I'll go back to MIUI for now...
I think GPay etc can be sorted quite easily - go to the Telegram group there's a guide there. They may also help with Android Car.
I don't think that will help, all guides for fixing safetyNet work under the assumption basicIntegrity is true - it's false for me.
7.5 clean flashed now, looking good.
Spoke too soon, Safetynet fails on ctsprofile.
@Schumi_wk any chance of incorporating the workarounds here:
