iDoing 10.25 Recovery mode? - No keys! - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hello! I am looking a way to go into the Recovery mode of this unit by iDoing (PX5 4GB/64GB Android 10)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001268573059.html
The only button I can find is a reset button on the side of the screen. No other buttons exist - not even "virtual" ones, or at least I cannot find something more.
What I have tried so far:
1) Hold the reset button for around 45 seconds and then release it
2) Hold it for like 20 seconds and then immediately press again and release it
3) Hold it for like 20-30 seconds and then immediately press 2 times and release it
4) Attach a keyboard to the first usb slot and tried ALT+Printscreen+e (repeatedly). Nothing. The keyboard and its Num indicator are only working when the screen finishes booting and it is in the Android environment.
I contacted the seller but they don't understand what I am looking for. I know that the last resort is to go into the Android and with pseudo-console to issue a command for reboot and recovery.
However, since I am about to experiment with some roms, I will not be able to do this every time. Does anyone have any idea/proposal on how to get it to the recovery with only this button? Is there a chance I will not be able to boot into recovery?

Thank you very much for your reply!
Here is the information I could get from the system. It seems like MTCE_PSD (to be honest I haven't found anywhere this vendor! I saw some lists around the web with the vendors, but couldn't find PSD!).

Yes, it is a MTCD variant (PSD). If unable to identify a method to enter recovery, you could hardwire a recovery switch per my threads.

Thank you sooo much!
I have read a lot of threads and posts these days. What I understood is that if you can't access the recovery then two solutions:
1) find another px5 device with keys that goes to recovery and plug your board on it (I have read that you did it )
2) solder a permanent bridge between VDD and CTL_Recovery pins so you can force the system to get into a "recovery" and then use software on PC to do your work.
marchnz said:
the 'force' recovery method which toggles the SOM recovery line is as follows:
Note, must use this method as the MCU sinks the [CTL-recovery line]
- On mainboard carefully remove SOM header pin [ctl_recovery] - see my signature for schematic (also attched non-watermark version here, happy holidays)
- Solder a wire to the SOM socket [ctl_recovery]
- held [ctl_recovery] wire to [mcu 3.3v test pad]
- Connect PC
- Power on Headunit
- Your PC should chime (new device) and RockChip batch tools indicate "Device Connected"

Is this the connection bridge? I can't locate the test pad

Ok, thanks,
so it is the last update - I allredy have it on the pad, works good.
What verison is this ?
1001?
1170?
Does wifi work?
it is 1170
Sent from my deb using XDA App
Can I use the same for WOWPAD? Also if anything goes wrong Can I get back to previous factory setting?
Model # dory
FW Version 2.1-update1
Kernel Ver # 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build # dory-r2.1.925
I just ran this on my wowpad that was stuck at the green wowpad screen. Now it is getting to a calibration option and resetting over and over. I guess that is progress. Is there a different version of the update around for the wowpad? I have another pad that works, is there any way to pull an image from the working device?
Just updated my wowpad to 1170 with full update (using burntool). Everything seems very fast. Top wifi switch now works. Wifi connected without any trouble. Could not browse through ADSL (Ethernet) lan connection. It is showing connected but no browsing. It worked with previous .925 version. Try it tomorrow. Still asking for the license number. Can anyone help me with a license number. I probably threw it away with the box.
[email protected]
My email: [email protected]
I tried it on my other wowpad and it is working fine. It does seem faster and wifi is working like before, I haven't tried much else yet. My second pad froze while playing angry birds and after reboot kept getting stuck on the green screen also so I was forced to try to reflash it. I guess my first one has some hardware problem.
My inglish is very bad ....
Please can you send burntools - v07.5? I don´t search in internet. Anysearch bruntool v07.2.
My tablet is off. My email is [email protected]
Thanks If you don´t send burntools please Link download
Hi singingdrop, any chance in telling me where you found the v07.5 burntool, looked everywhere but no luck, cheers

you could get the burntools 7.5v from the upper location.
You can have very good instruction and process to upgrade from this "Spanish" site. Just translate it to english. Just add http// @ the beganing. I'm not yet allowed to post link. Delete space after http.

Upgrade for WOWPad?
Greetings:
I just purchased and received two "wowpads" via DHGATE.com seller and am pleased for the most part with the hardware.
I use OruxMaps to view maps relative to the current position. My goal is to use it in an airplane for background reference against the aeronautical charts that have been scanned and can be cached on the SDCard by using a program Mobile Atlas Creator from live map services for a region of interest.
My only concerns are with the brightness - it is difficult to use with much sunlight and also the lack of ability to turn on and off the GPS receiver. Certain apps will turn it on, and it slowly does find the satellites for positioning - up to 15 mins to triangulate. Then although I can shutdown the calling app for the mapping, it does not turn off the GPS. I tried a widget from the Market to
control the GPS, but it does not respond.
Does anyone know whether the ROM upgrade will fix the GPS on/off control?
Is there an official 2.2 ROM coming?
Doug.
Just updated this way on a flytouch2, it's a bit faster now and wifi works also.
I've updated from version 925 in wich my license code (I had to ask for at the place I bought my device) wasn't accepted. But when I tried to register after this update and filled in my license code everything worked great????????? even my license code was accepted
THNX for all the work you guys do

try doing hard reset. If you cant go to recovery mode, open your cover, between the camera and speaker there is tiny hole. Use pointed object to push this while doing download mode combo. You probably need an assistance of a brother or sister lol. Then in recovery mode, Try if your pc can detect your phone again. Then try flashing stock firmware.
that's what i'm trying to do... and something to know there is no button there... that's where the plastic was poured through tiny holes in the mold cavity that made the chassis... if you don't believe me there is another one right beneath the battery...

Lol, are you sure you have the standard international version of i9003?
There would be a small pin hole sort of thing between the camera and the speaker after opening the back flap.
You need to goto the download mode by using a pin. Press the pub hole with a sharp object(not too sharp). Then press the volume down key, then home button. Holding these all, then press the power key for about 4 seconds. You'd see the Samsung boot animation. At this point leave the power key, keep holding other buttons until you see the download mode.
Then connect to a PC to see if it's connected in com port
Press thanks if helped

OnePlus 6 hard bricked. Need help.

I belive my 1+ 6 somehow got bricked. I didn't root it, I didn't unlock the boatloader, I didn't put any custom ROMs, everything was stock. I went to bed like usual, and left the phone charging. Around 1 hour later, I woke up, the screen was on
Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and may not work properly. Visit this link on another device: g.co/ABH
PRESS POWER KEY TO CONTINUE.
I was half asleep, I restarted the phone, everything was back to normal and I thought that was the end of it. Woke up late in the morning, confused, because my alarm didn't ring. My phone was dead, wasn't turning on, it wasn't doing anything. It was charged when I restarted it last night (75%). I tried every single combination of buttons, I couldn't get it to boot into Fast Boot, nothing was working.
In the morning, I tried using the Msm tool, but it always got stuck at 'Memory size: 119.19G' after 13 seconds.

I gave up, and tried to turn on the phone a few hours later. It turned on, and I got that message again, that your device is corrupt. Pressed the power key, and it started just fine. It restarted afterwards, and was booting to fast boot menu. No matter what I tried, it was always going to the fast boot menu.
I tried the Msm tool, and this time I got past that stage. But, this time around, it got stuck at downloading system.img to system_a (I left it there for 40 minutes), until I closed everything and tried to restart the procedure.
Now I'm back to square 1, phone won't turn on, won't vibrate and will be stuck at Memory size stage.
Please help me out, I'm really desperate...
try other rom in msmdownloadtool, i give you a link to OxygenOS 9.0.2 MSMDownloadTool v.4.058:

Do you have another usb to type-c cable for try?
Tried 3 more cables, and 2 other USB ports, same results. Will have to try it tomorrow, again, on a different machine, but I am doubtful it's going to make any difference.
Any other ideas? Thank you!
try disabling the sha256 check, perhaps you can flash it with errors but your phone boot, seems an internal damage, i never had issues with msmdownloadtool
try a different version of the program and see if a reboot works. This program saved my phone also 2 weeks ago and i thought i was hard bricked also because my phone showed there was no recovery/fastboot and bootloader and at first the program didn't work like it should and after a reboot of the pc and then starting the app and then do the correct button combination so that the led light on the phone will turn yellow i believe and then start the process.
This sounds like a hardware failure, send the phone to oneplus.
Try to contact OnePlus service, I had a very similar problem to my 5T and they solved it via remote desktop.
Press volume up for 5 seconds then plug the device into your laptop. It should be detected as COM3 and the MSM download tool should detect the device.

The device, as mentioned in the initial post, is detected by the MSM tool, however, after I press start, I get hit with an error every time
I have contacted OnePlus, and they said that they no longer do remote fixes, as they used to.
For my past experience, You have to log in EDL mode instead fastboot for flashing through msntool.

Sounds like an actual hardware issue if this happened on a stock device out of the blue. Contact OnePlus and hopefully they can make it right.

It was a stock device. Apparently the memory went bad out of nowhere, and the motherboard had to be replaced.
Did they replace MoBo for free? I have the same issue
Did you manage to get your phone working again? My onePlus 6 died on me last week too.
It was updated to 11.1.1 a few weeks ago.
Last week while idly scrolling social media, the phone froze, turned off, and when it turned back on, it displayed Qualcomm crashdump mode.
I've been running the MsmDownloadTool, and for the past 55 minutes it's been stuck in "Downloading system.img to system_a".
Not sure how to proceed from here.

Not sure if this helps, In some devices, ramdump mode means that the system can't deal with some determined process, for example an over exposure charging time. You should try to reboot it pressing the three buttons for about 12 seconds, and it should be fine.

This used to happen many years ago, was kinda normal, but it's strange actually with such powered devices, you should find a combination key to power off device (time ago worked pressing the three buttons about 30 seconds) and then restart from there, device has to reboot normally, ramdump state creates a complete log/report that take some time and usually is nothing more than that, something like this https://www.askmefast.com/How_can_i_reset_my_phone_its_on_RAMDUMP_MODEarm9_mode-qna1311373.html if the over exposition didn't lead to a hardware issue with the EMMC itself then it has to be fixable.

Question Triying to revive a black screen SM-R890

Hi, this is the first time i post, I'm a newby and just want to start experimenting with these devices.
I have a Samsung Galaxy watch 4 classic (SM-R890) with a faulty back button, so i bougth a dead watch on ebay to change the buttons and now I want to see if i'm able to bring life back to the ebay bircked watch.
The screenof the bricked device wotks fine (Just tested the screen on my good watch) and also the battery hold charge.
Pressing the two butons while charging doesn't work, (it was the first thing I tried as soon as I get the watch from ebay)
after reading some post here, I tried to connect to the this pins on the bottom of the main board in order to stablish a usb connection

the soldering is not pretty but it works. (also the photo was taked before cleaning the board)
pin order is as follow
5v | Not conected | green | white | gnd
also there is no bridge between the pads, I just tested that with a multimeter.
after installing the samsung usb driver and connected the cable, I saw for and instant the message saying "installing exynos driver" or some messages like that, but after that nothing.....
Now it sound like when you plug a usb device and after a few seconds it sounds like when you discconet the device. but it doesn´t show on device managen neither in odin software.
to "force the connection" on windows I have to press the ON button on the watch and it sound like connecting an usb device again.
i've also tested on linux with "./odin4 -l" command but also no luck.
I just want to know if i'm missing some crucial step in order to connect the watch to the pc via usb.
Hope you can help me bringing back life to this watch.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but the problem is that i can't stablish comunication between the watch and the pc. is there something I can do?
