Kaiser buttons no longer respond?!?!?!

I flashed to Duttys newest rom, and im using the new Nikki radio 16.27 i think. everything has been working good since yesterday, then all of a sudden today my phone doesnt respond to keyboard input. also, the soft keys dont work, neither does the mail, call, or end button. when i press the "center" ok button, the start menu pops up.
however, the touch scren works.
i have reflashed the phone and have gotten no results. can anyone help me out?

Check your Button Assignments Maybe they got changed.

i didnt think it was a rom related issue thats why i asked. i just flashed my rom with no thrills rom thinking that would fix it, but still the same issue!

Hmmm Well then. Did you Hard Reset After either Flash?
Otherwise you may have a warranty issue.

hard reset is when i hold the 2 soft keys and then press the reset button with the stylus?

Once the flash has completed and you get to screen that says “Tap the screen to begin to set up your windows-mobile device” perform a hard reset. To do this press & hold your left and right soft keys. Those are the keys that are just above the Internet and Message button and then push your stylus into the reset button while holding both the soft keys. Hold this for about 3-5 seconds. A screen will appear that says “This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press send to restore manufacturer default or press other keys to cancel” If you want to continue hit the green call button.
Once the restore is complete press the green call button again and this will reboot your phone. If you want to cancel out of this press any other button. This reason behind doing this is quite significant. If you do this you will have far less problems then if you do not do it. Trust me on this. This is a proven solution to a lot of problems that many users will face.

can you even hard reset at all with your buttonrs not responding?

i cannot hard reset. ive been trying to do it and its not working. where is the cheapest place to buy a kaiser?
i paid $450 for this whore off of ebay like 2 months ago. wtf.

The Cheapest I think I saw was Newegg.com at like $550.

That's awesome that never works for me. Grats Bro!

I had hardware issues with my wizard before. buttons crapped out on me. I had to press the buttons in an angle so the sensors can detect me pressing the buttons. It's possible the buttons are out of place. My warranty was over so I had to pay for repair charges. didn't want to deal with that. Now I have a Tilt.

Help!!! I CAN'T hard reset my htc!!

I had tried to
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
3. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons
but I did not see this message:

The above is a HARD reset, which equates to restoring the device to defaults, so you will lose any software you installed and settings.
What are you trying to do? There's a HARD reset, which you have the procedure for or just a SOFT reset, which will just reboot the device...

I would like to set the device to defaults, but i can't reset it.
I don't know what's wrong of it?

then to system
then there is an option 'erase content'
push this button and your content will be erased...so you will perform a hard reset!

I am so sorry that my device can't do anythings in the windows,
so i waould like to reset it.

ok, to do a HARD RESET..
press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button and the CENTER or ENTER button and with the stylus press and hold the reset button until a colorful screen appear..
and the device ask u if u want to hard reset, it will delete all bla bla bla then press the VOLUME UP button..
then the device screen appear rebooting the device..
and finally press VOLUME UP button again and thats all...!!

Turn the device off.
Hold the Volume down and center button (d-pad).
While holding those two, push and HOLD the power button until you see the message that says to push the up volume to hard reset.

No, same was with mine Touch Pro (O2 XDA Diamond Pro). No Hard reset possible via button-method (or I was just not clever enough )

Do it like this Vincent, same result^^

the hard reset comination is keyed into every tp and will work as specified unless there is a hardware problem with any of the keys involved.
Just make sure u r not fat thumbing any of the keys.. if necessary use chopsticks to hold down the keys.

I had a lot of trouble when trying to hard reset the touch pro. I have a fuze as well and never an issue. When I followed these instructions exactly the touch pro preformed a hard reset. Thanks for the help! I looked everywhere on ppcgeeks.

I tried all of the above and still nothing. I'm fed up with this phone anyway and am seeking out the next "it" phone. I have never had as many problems with a phone ever. What ever happened to Nokia's hi end?

One last thing to try,
Press soft reset, then immediately after hold Volume down and OK (round button), this method is fool proof.

Silly question, I am sure but... Will a hard reset take me back to the original WM6.1 OS? I installed one ROM I found here, but wants to go back to "normal" 6.1 (don't ask why )

This might be useless but my phone goes through phrases where the power button does not work at all and when it's not working I cannot hard reset at all. This phone is just weird.

Nope, u have to flash the phone back to the original rom.

I was trying to restore my phone back to stock 2.1 with odin. My phone shut off and now I cant get my computer to even recognize it is plugged in. The picture on the screen now is a phone and a computer with a yellow triangle between them. I'm in serious need of help.

Relax. Unplug phone and battery. Put batt back. Open odin 1 click. Hold both vol buttons and plug in usb to get to download screen. (Or vol down if you were on i9000 rom.)

No detection
Should the computer detect the phone? It never acts like it is detected. Were you seeing the same symbols on the screen?

if you havent try removing external sd card and sim card too. maybe voodoo but it might help.

How to enter download mode:
Method 1: (ADB - from recovery or normally booted with usb debugging on)
Open a cmd prompt/console/shell
adb shell
adb reboot download
Method 2: (KEY COMBO)
Remove the battery, sim card, sdcard if you have one
Insert the battery
Hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power
Method 3: (KEY COMBO)
Remove the battery, sim card, sdcard if you have one
Insert the battery
Hold both Volume buttons (from i9000 just down, don't touch the power button)
Plug in the USB cable and continue holding both Volume buttons

I appriciate all the replies. I have tried all 3 methods so far but nothing helps. I'm begining to to think it is just beyond bricked. I will keep trying the key sequences. Method number is obviously out.

What rom did you have installed?

Have had that screen and worse. black screen with red letters at one time, it just took persistence. I even tried to return phone once but they didnt so I went back to the drawing board. usually the method of pulling battery, sim, and sd, then opening odin, then holding both up and down volume, while holding both vol buttons down, insert the usb. thats the only method i use. it eventually works

If you see this screen this is what to do to get into download mode. This worked and saved my bacon. Thanks to everyone who replied.
•Be sure the Samsung USB drivers for the phone are installed on your computer.
•Remove and replace the battery.
•Connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable. The "phone-exclamation mark-computer" picture should display on the phone's screen.
•Hold the Volume Up+Volume Down+Power buttons down simultaneously.The screen should go blank, then the picture should appear again. When the screen goes blank a second time, release the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume Up+Volume Down buttons down

Cool, I kinda remember doing that at some point. Good for you. Now go hack up that phone some more. LOL. If you get brave, try the ROM I am running.. 30 steps to load it.

Power button issue - fixed

Hi frndz since long i was facing the issue where fone wld take auto screenshots when press the home button as if smthng was messing up with power button. We all know from fact that this issue is bothering many for details look here. After lot of trying i made a fix for it. Carefully follow step by step.
What do u need..
1. A good focused light source.
2. A normal injection.
3. Thin screwdriver.
4. Super glue.
STEPS
1. Go to recovery and in advance tab do a key test with cover observe if u have double code 116 if yes release the back cover and do again if it still has double 116 array then u have power button problem (send to service center), if like mine your double tapping stops then follow the steps ahead. The problem now is coz of weak silver button leaf spring.
2.Carefully open the cover and examine the points 1 & 2 in the pic below

3. Fill the injection jst a little bit with super glue and carefully paste it on the following points only make sure you do not spill it jst a little feather touch on edges
of point 1 & 2...look below.
4. After u have applied the glue keep the button pressed from inside to outside with help of screwdriver gently pressing the black contact point a little above
point 1 & 2.
5. Leave it for 5 min and till it dries completely (depends on glue).
6. Bingo i fixed mine with this now no stupid double press or screenshots all i did is increase the leaf power.
7.Hit thnx if i helped .

take out the battery.. and then prees and hold down vol (down) and power button for 5 sec... u'll b in recovery

The problem had become ridiculous for me (three to four presses required to turn off my screen), so I gave this a shot last night. Now more than 90% of presses are accurate (i.e. result in a single press/actuation).

You wrote "normal inFection" instead of "normal inJection" in the OP, which kinda confused me
You could also put some super glue onto a toothpick, and then just touch the spots on the cover with it

Instant Krazy Glue (green tube).

I was too lazy to be super precise about it. I just used the tube of super glue that I already had and applied the glue directly to the two spots indicated, applied pressure to the button from the inside out, and then let it dry (10 minutes).

Seems to be much better now. I've only experienced 1 or 2 problems since applying the fix. I may touch it up if the problem starts to come back.

Aha, I tried this today, and totally screwed up. I may have applied to much glue, or accidentally got glue in the wrong areas. My power button got glued stuck, and I had to work an hour to break the glue and try to loosen up how stiff the button was (Wouldn't spring anymore). Even now, the button is significantly more sunken into the housing of the phone, and has less spring or feel of a click. On the bright side, there's no more double press issues! Don't try this if you don't really know what you're doing... I certainly learned the hard way. Hopefully getting the housing replaced for free by HTC.

cant get the solution to work
I have a problem trying to get this soultion to work. I can't even get into recovery mode because my phone turns on almost instantly after putting the battery i like its getting the power on button press even before i put the cover on. After moving a little more quickly i finally got the cover on and go into recovery mode but the phone keeps thinking I'm pressing the power button so im not able to move around in the recovery menu. Any suggestions?

The button keeps getting pressed even with the cover off? That would suggest that the button is broken. Or you have something stuck in there...

[Q] HTC Sensation XE - power button failure

Hi guys,
Wondering if you can help re the following problem.
By accident, I managed to tear the power button strip on my phone (i.e. not the silver button, but the part that must be depressed). The phone is elsewise in perfect working condition.
I need to turn this particular phone on, as there is some important information on it that I need to access.
Any ideas how I can turn it on, or access the data therein?
Would appreciate any help - thanks in advance

The power button just completes an electrical circuit. That's all any power button on anything does.
Stuck in that black tape that's covering the button that you ripped are 2 tiny little wires. If you can connect those two wires even for a half a second, the circuit will be completed and the phone will power on.
I had to do the same thing on my MyTouch4G because I made the same mistake. It is not easy to do this. I had to use a VERY sharp knife (I used a surgical scalpel) to slice the surface off the black tape to expose the wires. Then I shorted them with a small peice of metal. It took about an hour to get it right.
Alternatively, if this critical information that you need is saved on the SD card....pull it out and use a card reader to view it on your computer.

Not sure if this will work for you but there is a app called tap tap app that allows you to turn On the phone without using the power button. I believe you can find it on the play store. It's supposed to be a button saver application
I've never tired it personally but I believe it's created to not use buttons to power on phone. I've came across it in the play store. Don't know much more about it but it might be worth checking out if you can get your phone powered on. Hope this helps. Best wishes and good luck.

That turns the screen on, not the phone and turning the screen on won't work when the phone is not powered on

I know I know Necromancy is a forbidden art form but right now you know how happy I am I just had to delve into it.
This is the best solution I have ever seen and thank-you so much for your time in figuring out how to do this, you have no idea how I felt when I felt that little buzz on my phone when I did this wire trick, I literally jumped a little with excitement, then the second time I did it I jumped with excitement more.
The thing I did though was there was a little rectangle in the plastic casing above where the dot is, I cut from one corner to the other side of a piece of plastic that was holding down the power button and from the other corner straight down, if that makes sense good, if not I have attached a picture, it is not very clear sorry but it is the best I can do because I have no camera other then my phone at the moment.
The red is where I was going to cut, the blue was a necessary cut because that small bit was to weak to stay on there and not get bent off by accident, this gives clear access to the small point to do this work around. Now if I need to revive my phone because of a dead battery or if anything happened to it I have a way to do it I have a wire in the back of the phone with the battery so I can just remove the back and use the wire. Also I installed sweep2wake, a necessary evil IMO.
P.S. I am going to leave this thread alone after this, I am just trying to get a solution more visible instead of making another thread just stating what this one has said, totally a huge thanks for Sidden, I was going to be stuck with a small samsung brick phone that only did SMS and took calls, you have made my day that much greater kind sir
