Hi guys!
I was just wondering if their is a tweak/hack/app/way to set a timer for a SMS.
Like telling your phone to send a specific text to a specific person on a specific time.
Could anyone help me?
Thanks!
In theory, such an app could be written. The official SDK doesn't support automatically sending SMS, but the APIs exist and a homebrew app could use them. I don't think anybody has ever bothered to write such an app, though.
That's sad/
Anyway, thanks for clearing this one up.
I'd like that ability too. Unfortunately (using the official routes) Microsoft only make available to developers the ability to create a text message, and then launch the phone's sms application - leaving it for the user to press send. The code isn't able to do the sending so an app wouldn't be able to do it via the phone's own SMS at a scheduled time. You would also have the problem that if you set it to be sent more than two weeks in advance, and didn't go back into the app during that time, the scheduling 'agent' that runs in the background on the phone would expire after two weeks (so the sms would never be sent).
There are however some web sites that do it - e.g. http://ohdontforget.com/
You might be better using a web site anyway due to them being always on (whereas a phone might be off or out of signal at the scheduled time).
It would be possible, however, to write an app that uploads the text to an on-line service (such as the one mentioned as it has a developer API) so that a web server could reliably take care of the scheduled send - and then perhaps sending a push notification to the phone to confirm it has been sent.
Hey, I think here is one app for that, I didnt have time to look it totally through...

Did any1 try the app?
Hi guys
It's probably been asked before, but I'll do it anyway
I have two android phones using my main SIM number, I alternate according to my mood or battery draining
I have viber installed on both, and every time I change phone, and start viber, the app asks my number to insert the new code blá-blá, and all my messages and call log vanish
Is there any trick to overcome this issue?
I have two different cell numbers from different carriers
My phones are Samsung S3 mini and Sony Xperia E
Cheers
Antonio
Hey Antonio,
Your Viber ID is your phone number - just as you can only have one phone number per device, you can only have on Viber ID per mobile device.
As a security feature, when Viber is activated on a new device, your account is deactivated on your old device. This ensures that if your phone is lost or stolen, the person that gets your old phone won't be able to access your account. This is why you lose your call and message history. We recommend that you keep Viber installed on one device, but if you must switch please read here: http://bit.ly/1dapLXE for info on how to back up your message history before deactivation.

You're telling me that you disallow two mobile phones logging into the same account, which is technically possible, because you think I might lose my phone and would want to sign out the other account.
Perhaps then, you could create a button in the interface to log out all other devices.
But no, you assumed what your customer would want.

so, the same security feature is not included in the tablet/laptop version? this doesn t make sense. users should have the option to decide for themselves..

just tried it, doesnt work...
Yes it work.
Oh is that genuine viber team replying? I do not but the theory of security. I have same account viber on my ph, small tablet, big tablet, 2 laptop and a desktop. Now recently got another phone and decided to use both alternately, viber cannot extend to second ph with sim. If i can fool viber that it is tablet, my problem would have solved.
I just lost all contacts and chat history when i try to install Viber on new phone (with same number). Viber on new phone was also without chat history and contacts. This "security feature" was completly unknown to me, and it is incredibly counter-intuitive and stupid. Facebok Messinger of course worked perfectly normal on both phones., when it was installed on new phone.
Same crap...this is quite not user friendly from Viber... I lost all my chats, and I can only use on 1 device. Shame on Viber.
Same to me. I logged in on the new phone prior to changing SIMs (beacuse I wanted the new phone to be ready when I do so), and every and all messages was deleted without notification. Also, my laptop wanted me to revalidate it with QR. Why doesn't it only warn me there is no fresh backup?
have you tried this? https://www.androidinfotech.com/2016/04/use-same-viber-account-in-two-different.html
I have installed Viber on my laptop, using Phoenix OS, and I lose all the things in my smartphone.
Really bad, just thought it's like in the Windows 10
As soon as I have bought new tablet with android 7.0 installed, I can't have any more viber on my blackberry Q5 and the new tablet at the same time.
I can't post the link because I don't have 10 posts on the forum.

"Before you start
Download the latest version of Viber on your phone before you add Viber to your tablet. If you don't have the latest version, Viber will not sync between your phone and your tablet."
I need to use viber version 5.6.5.1885 on Q5, because only this version work on BB10 OS, and on android 7.0 tablet I can have the latest version. And when I activate viber on the phone, I am immediately logged out from tablet. And vice versa. While I was using viber on my older tablet with android 4.2.2. installed, I didn't have this problem.
So I need to use viber only on one device.
I don't know, but viber is definitely forcing us with such manners to have only the latest viber, if we want to have synchronized chats, and also in such manners we have to use only newest mobile devices.
Went to install Viber on my old phone while I work on the current phone. Didn't realize phones counted as 'primary devices', and that you can have only one. So as soon as I activated Viber on my old phone, I lost everything on the other phone. Some sort of warning would have been nice... @Viber Team
Viber support is anything but supportive... They cant even understand basic issues like why is there a possibility to use viber primary on phone and secondary on tablet and why cant this be done...
We have to find a new app that can do that
Just want to say that telegram sorted it out in a best way possible. You can have as many devices as u like and never will lose chat history. And viber has much bigger user base then telegram! Shame on you viber! If it isn't that a lot of people in my country use viber I would never install it! Telegram is much better in all things!
.
Hello everyone,
I'll start by saying that I haven't lost my whatsapp chats since I began using it in 2010.
Until last update I had all my chats from 2010 in my "Chats" tab in the app.
Today, I realized that my list is a hell lot shorter than it used to be and that all the chats that ended before July 2015 are gone (I would say probably 150 chats).
If I use the search option and search for an old chat contact's name I find him under "Other contacts" and not under "Chats", BUT if I enter the chat I CAN see all the history with him. This seems pretty weird.
I've looked at the database file and it has the same size as it used to have and considering that I can see the history of the chats if I search manually means they haven't been deleted, just cleared from the Chats tab.
Maybe Whatsapp are trying to speed up loading time for the main activity?
Am I the only one who has this issue?
Is it an issue of the current version only?
I'm a freak for nostalgic things and it scares me a lil' but to lose my chats.
I have an international Exynos galaxy s8 plus model.
Whatsapp version 2.17.323
Thanks in advance and have a great day!
No one?
Hello!
It seems like I've finally found someone with the same problem as me and I'm not an isolated case.
Firstly, I'm sorry if you do not understand something I say, English is not my native language.
So, I noticed this a couple of days ago, I had over a hundred conversations and I have the habit of archive them through the "Archive all chats" option. The last time I used this option, I noticed that it listed only 64 conversations. I'm pretty sure I did not delete any conversation, and as you said, the size of my database also remains the same as before.
Curiously, I can only find the old conversations if I search for the contact's name or part of the conversation, but in the archived list these do not appear.
I also noticed that if I enter through the WhatsApp Web, these conversations do not appear as in the phone, they appear empty.
I was thinking about contacting WhatsApp support, because I'm afraid that if I reinstall I'll lose the conversations.
Hello, glad to know I'm not alone. Someone in another forum had the same issue and just installed an old apk from august.
I'm not sure if they did that intentionally or by mistake, so I tried to contact whatsapp support team. they keep giving me generic answers on how to add contacts to whatsapp and how to backup data to drive lol.. They don't even read it.
Waiting for an app update. If this doesn't solve this I'll go back to an old version myself.
Same thing happens with the Whatsapp Web like you by the way.
Hello dear XDAers,
try my luck here:
Since a family member died, I'm trying to preserve the memories of it and extract WhatsApp voice messages in a way that makes listening to them as easy as possible - ideally as it is presented in WhatsApp itself.
I have already moved WhatsApp to another rooted device.
What I don't want is a chat history with "11:19: voicemessage....opus" where I then have to manually go to each file in File Explorer.
In fact, it's pretty much exclusively voice messages with a little bit of pictures.
I have now installed WhatsApp in a VM, which works so far.
However, I have made the experience that WhatsApp at some point asks for an update or stops the service if, for example, the date of the VM is not correct.
Then I have to set up the whole thing again - even worse, if then the phone number should no longer be available.
The best thing would be a program that extracts the WA data (however, e.g. by pushing an old version) and then creates an HTML file or displays the chat history in the program itself in a WhatsApp style.
In any case, the voice messages would have to be embedded.
It may also cost something.
With the usual suspects such as from Mobiletrans, however, I have found no documentation on how the messages are displayed or only documentation in which the voice messages were then stored in a separate folder.
Thank you very much
So yeah, I had already figured out that a tool like iSMS2droid lets you transfer the messages from iphone to android by downloading the iCloud backup that has the message in it but it notably left the photos and videos that I sent/recevied not in the messages and replaced them with blank messages.
Is there a way to completely transfer this media? Also, do the paid services like drfone actually transfer the media in the text messages along with the texts themselves?----That's basically my question. The following is just some ramblings that may help you answer the quesiton, thank you for your time again.
People have said that it wouldn't be possible because you're trying to turn iCloud data into android data but that's what iSMS2droid does so I think it should be possible, plus I think I have downloaded all this data in some weird forme anyway and it's just sitting there waiting to be used!
