hi,
is there a way to enable taking pictures in b&w?
thanks!
No need. Post editing just kill the saturation. Gray scale is preserved.
Shooting it as a raw file will yield better results after post editing.

what do you mean " post editing"?
i just want to have the option to shoot in b&w in apps like _open camera_
The built in camera app doesn't do it. Lots of third party camera apps in the store do. Or you can use an image editor after taking a colour photo to make it black and white. Google Photos can remove saturation or use one of several filters.

Snapseed can do it post editing. There are simpler tools if you just want to kill the saturation.
Being able to adjust the contrast curve be nice... When editing color images I normally kill the saturation to initially dial in the contrast curve using just the grey scale ie a b&w image, then dial up the saturation to the best level.
It's really not a big deal...

Does anyone know a camera app that uses the full screen of the tab?
With the integrated camera app not using autofocus it is mostly useless to me since i cant read any text i photograph.
I tried several other apps. They all use the autofocus and it works great, but they dont utilize the full screen of the tab.
The camera app in JM6 features touch-to-focus, and I have no problems making photos of text. Maybe i could post the apk + odex files, for testing on stock firmware.
Yes, the app works fine, its me that didnt function correctly.
You just have to hold the button down, it will autofocus and beep when done.
Thanks very much for thay info now alsi i Focus.

Another strong user of Vignette here.
I posted a topic on the use of Vignette over the stock camera App.
Vignette has so much more to offer and one special mention has to go with 'Zoom'. As you all know the default camera has no zoom but id you use Vignette it uses a very clever 'live crop' tool that works very much like a zoom.
An added benefit is you get to see the surrounding area you are cropping out of the shot..... AND the shot taken is so, so much better than the default camera App.
Much greater detail, cleaner, sharper focus and better colours.
Next is the settings..... there is an absolute MAMMOTH of settings to choose from.
I have one customized that gives me an 'ND Filter' at a touch of a button.
In my experience, if you're looking for the most options & filters, then Vignette is the way to go. But if you're looking to take the best possible "normal" photos, Camera360 is tops for that.
I don't know what it is, but Camera360 shots ALWAYS are clearer & much more detailed/cleaner looking in comparison shots against Vignette.

I must confess, although I have great admiration for Vignette, Camera360 Ultimate definitely does have some very good settings.
Of particular value I find the 'Tilt-Shift' to be fantastic. I also like the focus settings with it's 'Manual Focus' where you can focus on a subject then move the camera to another subject to throw the focus out.
So, my recommendation for photography would be Vignette & Camera360 Ultimate for taking the shot and Picsay Pro to post edit for even better image processed results.
Does anyone know what app in Android market can edit photos with the function of showing one colour in the photo only? for example, if i wan red colour to appear, so only red will show in the photos, the rest will go into black and white...
i tried a few apps, but mostly is using brush to brush the area i want to show colour. I prefer the preset colour to show or only one colour to show..
does anyone know any?

Try Vignette.
Effects/color highlights/London
Black&white with only red showing.
Hope that will do the trick?
thank you so much..i tried vignette.. it got the function i mention.. the app is fine to use.. but result is not so good..any other app? i try find many but all is brush type..
PicSay Pro does this - it calls it Pop Colors. Takes the whole pic back to B/W, then adds colour back in where you select.
i try picsay pro..but it need to paint out the area in order to make the colour come out.. does any other app which only select the preset colour, lets say red, yellow, green, blue, then it will automatic come out those colour? sometimes in one area, it got many colour. so paint out hardly can only make one colour come out.. any other recommendation?

color splash?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.colorsplashphoto.android&hl=en
you have to paint it though.
i dont think there are any photo editing app that will eliminate all other color automatically except the one you choose.
I think Camera 360 might be what you are looking for  Try the magic color filter..
I use it on a day to day basis and it's really great app. Since this is my first post, i cannot post a link to google play but search for camera 360 and you'll find it.

I've noticed the color of the thumbnails in the stock Samsung gallery app differ when they're actually enlarged. Anyone else notice this? It doesn't happen with third party gallery apps, but I'd prefer to keep the stock gallery app simply because it plays back the slomo video. If you haven't noticed, check it out. Watch the vibrant reds/blues slightly shift to a lighter red/blue.
Now, I've experimented with this, and noticed it does this when the "Adaptive display" setting is left on. However, leaving it on and testing this out with a third party gallery app, it worked perfectly. The display adapted and the colors matched. Of course the color will be the same once enlarged so as long as you change the display's screen mode to "AMOLED photo". However, I'd prefer the adaptive setting because I don't like the warmer white tones when using my phone for everything else besides photo editing.
Leaving it on "Adaptive display", the software should know when I am actually opening a photo and adjust the colors so they're accurate. But now I'm thinking that there's a glitch with the stock gallery. The adaptive display setting is working fine with third party gallery apps, just not that stock gallery app. Which is sorta ironic....
Thoughts?
i have the same.problem.. how to solve this ?? I want stock gallery too
In amoled photo or basic, when you use the camera or edit photos it automatically changes to Adaptive Display while doing those tasks.

This is exactly what is happening. When you're on the thumbnail view, the screen is set to oversaturate a lot, but when you actually click a photo to make it full screen, the adaptive display mode switches the screen calibration to a more accurate one, which is the change you're seeing. If you use a third party app, the screen will just remain in the oversaturated, not accurate calibration the entire time.
So what is solution, how to solve this? I want when I open the photo to see how it really looks on instagram and everywhere......

Put your display on Cinema, Photo or Basic as Adaptive changes the settings to look more vivid etc in gallery apps and isn't useful. Also i'd say it used more battery.
Hey guys, I have been searching a lot and I can't seem to find an app with this function.
All I want is to open up a camera app. Select a picture and overlay it on the camera/viewfinder. Then set the transparency of the picture to half or whatever feels right. Then align the new camera shot with the old picture and take a shot. This is one of the best ways to do a before after shot.
I have found few apps on the play store that do this function half-assed.
There is an app called "overlay camera" this apps looks pretty outdated but in it, you can overlay an image and set the transparency using the slider and take the picture. BUT when it saves the picture, it saves it WITH the transparent picture still overlaid on the camera. The transparent picture should only be used for alignment but this app saves the camera picture and the overlaid picture into one blurry mess of a picture.
There is another app called "Time Spirit" and in it you can create a photo lapse. But you can't overlay a picture from your gallery. It uses the last picture you took as an overlay for your next picture.
So does any app out there exists that will work or me?
anyone?
Hi Jsan133,
I am interested in an app you described too. have you succeed to find any? it looks like there is nothing like tat in app store.
Ditto this post.
Does anyone know of an app?
Hi everyone! I got myself a Galaxy S22U, very happy with it , but only have one issue : whenever I take a RAW picture through the Expert RAW app the pic it shows in the gallery (the raw version) is way darker than it normally is.
When added to Lightroom, the RAW shows up as it is.
Any workaround for this ? I have attached pictures below so you can see what I mean by that.
Sounds like Gallery app needs to be be updated

The Gallery app and Lightroom have different rendering algorithms; meaning they will render an image slightly different. If you were look at the image from a third image editing app, you'd get a another different rendering and it would look different than the other two.
Nice shot though.
