I have a brand new z flip 3. I noticed when I make a call or when I use the sound recorder, it has a problem in recording or there's static when recording high pitched or high volume voices. However, in normal tone speaking, it's okay. I also tried recording a video, it doesn't have the same problem and records voices perfectly. Also did the Samsung Members diagnostic to check my mics, no problem with the sound either. Any ideas? Has anybody experienced this?

I am trying to test the microphone on the GTab. I sideloaded fring and tried to make a test call. The microphone was all crackly. Not useable. Is there another app to try to test the mic? What I want to know is if it is the device or fring. I tried to get Yahoo Messenger with the Video app but I haven't been able to find the apk anywhere that is the current version.
how about the sound recorder that's included in the GAPPs file?

Click to collapse
I was also going to suggest as the quickest check... or Rehersal Assistant from the Market if you want to really test sound quality better saving a raw uncompressed audio file for playback on tab or elsewhere...
Microphone Sucks
I purchased this in part to perhaps do video conferencing. I tried the sound recorder with the unit at arms length distance and tried to record my voice. It was so faint through the speakers with my normal speaking voice I could hardly tell that I had recorded anything. This is not a good sign. Even talking way loud (shooting), it was barely audible through the speakers with the volume at 100 percent. Now that may not be how someone would perceive it in a video chat application but I don't have high hopes.
Anyone else record anything through the microphone? Is there any other approach that would work (Bluetooth Headset)?
i have Talking Tom open at my desk while im at work because it entertains me when i yell at my employees
i notice no issues with volume or quality
Hi,
I donĀ“t know if everyone got this issue but I was recoding a concert on my Captivate the other day and the sound its just distorted like the mic sensitivity is way to high or the recording volume is to high, is there a menu to change the recording mic volume?
I'm the only one with the sentive mic?, no body else has this issue or find this to be and issue?
Hello,
when i get a call or call someone my microphone volume is very low, so no one can here me. If i blow in to the microphone or speak loud and directly in it the other side hears it, but with very low volume.
If i record audio with WhatsApp everything is fine. Factory-reset hasn't solved the problem.
Do you guys know what to do to fix this?
Greetings,
EZTEQ
I got the opposite issue, while recording a video the audio is fine but on whatsapp and calls its low. Changed roms and every single one is the same, I wonder if there is any setting we can poke into.
Anyone please?
Anyone else have problems when recording a video with sound that there is a ticking sound? like there is some kind of static on the mic.
first i thought my mic was broken when hearing higher pitched sounds, but everything is normal using the recording tool or recording sound in for example whatsapp.
hi
just got a new xperia 5. The phone has some really bad audio distortion when video calling with Whatsapp or speaker phone voice calls. It sounds like the audio volume is far too high for the speakers causing lots of crackling and distortion. Its as if a speaker is plugged into an amp that is far too powerful for it. Has anyone else experienced this, or got any suggestions on how to fix it? Or do I need to send the phone back.
I've tried turning off dynamic vibration and dolby atmos, but no difference.
The issue only seems to occur with WhatsApp video or voice calls on speaker phone. It doesn't happen for standard GSM calls even on speaker phone or if playing a recorded message or video through whatsapp. Other apps don't seem to have any problems.
In WhatsApp I can kind of fix the problem by turning the volume down by about 30% but then the speaker volume is a bit too quiet.
