Just a simple question. Is it possible? Downgrade build android Samsung S22 Ultra? I have been googling and so far almost no info about this. I have the mode; sm-s908u1 which I believe is unlocked, I can use any carrier.
Any info will be much appreciated.
Extra: I just want to downgrade to continue enjoying the call recording.
You are limited by the bootloader version to how far you can roll back.
You can go to the same or higher significant number but not lower.
And will most likely need to do a factory reset I tried it and was able to downgrade but had to factory reset.

Always completely backup critical data before you mess with the firmware...
Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer me. So sad that I won't be able to do it. I am tired of samsung. I did a full backup and I gonna try anyway if it works I will let you know.

If that version is what came with the phone when new, no.
If it was a latter OTA update, probably yes.

Not on a stock Samsung. The bootloader has to be unlocked as it's version is what dictates what roms can be loaded.
You can load the same or higher rev version as the bootloader but not lower.
In my case "2" is that critical value. I can flash Android 9 or higher. If a OTA upgrade flashes the bootloader to a higher version you're stuck with it. One reason I disable OTA upgrades/updates.

Wow thank you so much for such good explanation. It means I can only downgrade/upgrade the firmware's enclosed in blue but no the rest right?
The bootloader that came with the phone when extracted from the box is S908EXXU2AVH9.
Thanks in advanced.

Exactly. It seems sort of convoluted at first.
This is another useful article on Android partition structure in general.
One rule that serves me well is this...
Rule #1 - if the firmware is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be!
Anything Android version in general that is 9 or higher is reasonably secure unless you do stupid things. Even if one is running the latest firmware and software upgrades/updates... there's no saving dumb bunnies
Upgrades/updates can and do break Samsung's.
If a OTA firmware upgrade updates the bootloader version you are stuck with it. Look before you leap...

CAUTION with 5.1.1 UpdateG925PVPU2B0F7I've been spending some time reading T-mobiles issues with the update. This isn't a super new conversation, but is probably new to many Sprint users. The update appears have rollback protection, which effects both kernel and bootloader from what they are saying... Which I find slightly confusing since I didn't think that their was a locked bootloader on the US versions (maybe someone can assist with that)
Figured we could start the conversation early for Custom Root/Recovery/etc. users, so that we may save some of us some trouble with Soft/Hard brinks in the next week or so.
This is the thread I've been looking at.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge/general/psa-odin-5-1-1-t3136151
EDIT:
NO, the bootloader is not locked with the 5.1.1 update.
Rather, "Factory Reset Protection" (an Android thing - not a Samsung thing!) is now an option, which allows you to lock the bootloader yourself, protecting your device from someone installing a custom recovery, wiping your device and making it their own. It makes the device somewhat less valuable, and therefore (supposedly) less likely to be stolen.
The 5.1.1 upgrade looks to be a "permanent" upgrade, meaning we're not able to revert back to 5.0.2 kernels and recoveries.
So, I would suggest to sit tight with your current set up. In order to customize our devices we will need to wait for:
A) Root for 5.1.1
-Root has been achived: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...elopment/5-1-1-stock-of7-kernel-root-t3153396
B) Samsung to post the source code for the new kernel.
C) Custom Recovery
-Recovery has been achived:
Once we have the above, we can get back to modding our devices.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
Interesting article, I remember several other older Samsung devices where you could not downgrade bootloaders and modems. IE Galaxy S3, note 3, s5. But there was still root, Roms and the ability to flash kernels. Hopefully there's no need to go back anyway. The kernel thing is something new so I may hold off on upgrading. Thanks for the info

This is my first Samsung, so the whole root recovery process was almost too smooth since I've been on the HTC side for 5 years. Unlocking bootloaders, S-off and requesting tokens to push.. Ugh, as must as I likes HTC and Sense, that sucked.
I think I'm holding off as well, untill Sac23/ Ram9200 might have spare time to look over the update first and make sense of it all and could at least get it to where V.2 is right now. But it sounds like the Kernel could be our hold up, without Hybridmax's current support.

Yea but based off of my years of experience and having Samsung devices, I'm pretty sure that someone will find a way moving forward, but going back probably won't happen. I too had an HTC evo years back lol and I couldn't stand the root process. I feel your pain. But yea it may be wise just to wait for a while on the update

Alright.
AOP-513D-0-00WW-B03 (V5.13D_B03) here is same to the official release. So if you have installed this build, just enjoy it.
You will get later updates like regular Nokia 9 Devices.
To those who are still running 5xxx builds older than 513D B03, please download packages here.

To users who have installed this internal build, please share your experience report here if you're willing to, thanks.
Now I think Android 10 for Nokia 9 is stable enough and will be released to public soon, so I think it's time to post it here.
If HMD will push Android 10 officially, you can install it under ADB sideload easily and link will be posted here.
Internal build version: AOP-513B-0-00WW-B01
It will be updated from: AOP-427F-0-00WW-B01, which is released October 2019 Security Update.
Let me tell you how to verify:
1. Dial *#*#227#*#* to check current Version. If older than AOP-427F-0-00WW-B01, update to 427F before proceed.
FYI, 427F is October 2019 Security Update.
Alternately, you can use command "fastboot oem getversions" under fastboot mode / Download mode to check current firmware version.
2. Install AOP-513A-0-00WW-B01-427F-0-00WW-B01-update.zip with adb sideload under recovery.
3. Reboot to normal OS and recovery again - it's not over yet.
4. Install AOP-513B-0-00WW-B01-513A-0-00WW-B01-update.zip with adb sideload under recovery.
5. Reboot your phone.
That's it.
If Android 10 official update pushed publicly, link will be updated here.
To root the phone, you may want to use Magisk 20 released October 12th, 2019 or newer. I've uploaded stock boot image here if you have unlocked bootloader. There's no "Flashing is not rooted for fused device" issue under 5xxx build.
You can check overall experiences here (prototype, though): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6ScYgISGFg
Download link:
To prevent throttle error, I didn't upload them to Google Drive or other cloud storages. Sorry for inconvenience.

Just installed on my Nokia 9 TA-1087, works perfectly. No bugs found so far. So far so good. Animations really smooth, camera launch is significantly faster than Android 9. The dark mode is not fully dark but that was expected. Overall excellent experience. Definitely worth the update.

Ok done. Flashed... All working very well without bugs.
Battery life seems better on 10. There is no night mode on camera i hope add it to next updates...
can we use it in TA-1087?

Google pay works but can't add new cards as it says it's been rooted or altered in some way. I know it's not rooted but will we not get the proper update now as a result of doing this?
I installed the internal build 10 update on my TA-1082 (US) last night (about 20 hours ago) and it's been working/behaving extremely stable.
Feels noticeably faster than 9.
Thanks to OP for making it available:good:
Hi there! Is the device certified or not after installing this software version? I'm thinking, if not, maybe the mobile banking apps won't work on it
I installed it a while ago and it seems pretty stable and fast, the face recognition doesn't work as well tho. Also its a shame when you switch the dark theme on it doesn't make the boot dark as well, like the pixels. Everything else is working great! Thanks for sharing the build :good:
PS: I didn't have to root or anything, I just downloaded the two builds and updated using the stock recovery via adb sideload, it works on a non rooted fully stock phone, which is awesome
Any idea if there is possibility to revert back to stock ROM? I found only nb0 firmwares that seems is not able to flash to Nokia 9 with Nokia flash took.
Thanks.
Thank you! I am on it now...

Hello,
my model is TA-1082, single sim. I purchased it in Dubai... but when I flash for the OTA upgrade, it shows the message as above. Why?
EDIT: My build number is: 00WW_4_27D_SP02
Feedback of issues I have gotten so far:
- Phone freezes when playing videos.
- Network connectivity drops to nothing randomly.
- Google Pay doesn't work without internet.
Feedback on improvements:
- Phone faster and more responsive.
- Better battery life after a week.
Is anyone having these issues or is it just me, and also how do we return to stock rom in case something goes bad? I haven't unlocked the bootloader or rooted the phone so I'm unaware on how to do this just in case.
I have a Motorola G 5G branded Tim (local operator), in fact it has "timit" as a software channel and I would like to switch to the European channel "reteu", to receive timely and direct updates from Morotola. I think it is not possible to change the software channel directly, so I wanted to flash by installing the reteu firmware but I have some doubts:
- Does installing the European firmware solve my problem? (i.e. change the software channel and receive updates directly from Motorola) and above all is it worth it?
- Can I do it with LMSA or is it better to use RSD Lite? Do you recommend any other methods?
- Does this void my warranty? (I think not but when in doubt I ask)
- Once the firmware has been changed, will I receive automatic updates or will I always have to do it manually with LMSA, RDS etc.?
Also, I did a check by comparing the firmware taken from https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/kiev/official/, and it seems timit and reteu are the same, how is this possible?
Thank you in advance!

You want to do some research to see if there are any hardware differences if they are different sub-models
Generally you can change the software channel (ro.carrier) without issues.

Thanks, if I understand correctly, is it necessary to unlock the bootloader? Do I not lose the warranty by doing so? If I try to install the software without unlocking the bootloader what happens? (if I'm not mistaken, LMSA doesn't ask for this by default)

If you do not unlock the bootloader,
best case the firmware will not install
worst case the device will become unusable and unfixable

Ok but what do you think about the fact that LMSA offers me the stock no brand firmware by default? If you notice the link I posted in the first answer under the timit folder there is the reteu firmware. I also compared (with WinMerge) the three firmware: the one downloaded with LMSA, the reteu and the timit and they are exactly the same. Am I wrong or is it correct? If they were really the same, could I try without unlocking the bootloader?

Thank you and here the screenshot of my LMSA. Seems really strange...do you suggest another way to compare them (this firmware, the timit and reteu)?
I tried to recover from LMSA using the reteu firmware (without unlocking the bootloader). Everything went well, the installation was successful but the software channel continues to be timit, any other advice?

Standard MO for Samsung is to remove the Manual Entry requirement once the official launch date hits. Once that date comes, you should be able to pull it via Automatic.

Flashed and was able to enable WiFi-calling with US Mobile that I previously didn't have the option with July update. This is OneUI 4.1.1 btw, and the bottom of the screen is reserved for taskbar which is NOT enabled for Flip 4 so you get a black bar at the bottom in apps, just so you know.
This morning my flip4 finally received the September security patch along with firmware F721U1UEU1AVIA through OTA. My flip4 is an unlocked US phone, I'm on West coast. I haven't noticed any changes yet.
Download Samfw Frp Tool
Remove Sim card but keep wifi on
Change CSC to TMB
Check for update and install
Insert Sim card back and CSC will change automatically to XAA
NO DATA WILL BE LOST
I went from AVG6 ATT and switched to T mobile and im getting upgrades. Lets see if it goes up to A13.
Running that FRP tool on Virus total produced 5 hits... I'd double check the reliability of that tool before installing and hooking up your phone.

Haven't checked it myself but they provide virustotal link on their website and it wasn't showing malware

Pretty much all tools like that will have some hits, in at least one database, due to the exploits that they use. Doesn't necessary mean that it's malicious
How do you find the latest stock firmware for USA, I tried XAA/ATT/TMB with Frija but didn't work.

Why are you looking for USA firmware, for a non USA phone? That's not how it works

I bought it overseas. I thought it would work by using my carrier stock firmware.

The only non USA devices that you can flash USA firmware to are Canadian devices
This is so awesome, i'm so glad that this was just recently posted. I just received my phone a couple days ago with S908U1UES2AVI5. I followed the steps from the OP and immediately was able to download and install the update. It is currently on the black screen with the android updating progressbar, waiting for this to finish.
Edit: Just to note that I have XAG
Edit2: Updated to S908U1UEU2BVJA
Thanks!
has anyone got November security update post ONE UI 5?

Here u go.
But this version didn't worked for me, so I had to use older version.
I threw in a Tmobile simcard and the update went through, then after the install I swapped back my original Sim.

It's really easy. Enable USB debugging in developers mode, plug in phone to your PC and open FRP Tool, write TMB in CSC field and press change CSC. That's it
Ok, seems that it's time to stop waiting and just use what we have on hand here.
Im on factory unlocked S908U1, in Europe, with European SIM.
Build number: SP1A.210812.016.S908U1UES2AVI5
Service provider software version:
SAOMC_SM-S908U1_OYM_XAA_12_0028
XAA/XAA,ATT/ATT
Here I'm puzzled, because I've never used eSIM, and it shows ATT for some reason.
Question for more experienced members here:
Is there any problem for me to update with TMB? If it's all the same, why we are waiting so long updates for unlocked s22?

Change CSC to TMB and you'll get update. Don't forget to remove Sim before changing it
