Hello guys I live in northwest Africa region, I recently ordered Realme GT Neo2 and it's on the way home, I'm requesting some suggestions about which is the best firmware region to flash it with according the to my preferences :
Firmware contains native dialer and messages apps instead of google phone and messages.
Call recording feature.
Bootloader is easily unlockable on that suggested ROM. (in case I wanted to revert back to the original out-of-box ROM)
Contains Gapps
I'm pretty sure there's lots of confused people here due the wide variety of firmwares and what to choose from, so any helpful answer is greatly appreciated

as per your preference you can choose EU ROM- for performance (but google dialer and messages) Recording with prompt
Indonesian ROM - for performance and native dialer and messages with Call recording supported.
All Gapps are included with RUI 2 and RUI 3.
Once you receive the phone dial *#899# to check software version they as per your region specific bootloader unlock is available. it is not available for all regions.

No issues with Phone's ROM, after flashing but never lock bootloader, you cannot unlock again using deeptest.

I am new to s7 and I own a G930V Verizon unlocked version of s7
I was wondering if I could flash those roms with tags [G930X] and [G930F]
will it cause any problem such as locking the phone back?
also will there be Chinese language available in the roms and if not can I install manually? Thank You so much!!!!:highfive::highfive:

Hello, no you can not flash those ROMS, if it is not stated in the topic that you can. All models must have specifically built for them ROMS in order to work. As for the question about the language, again, go into the topic of the interested ROM and see there what languages are supported, normally it should already include all languages.
Long time flasher, but haven't really come across "CSC" until recently and trying to figure out if I care.
Just picked up a SM-G930W8 to use in USA on AT&T. Rooted and flashed a custom ROM (Resurrection Remix/AOSP) replacing stock. Will be updating my modem which I'm used to doing, but am not sure if I should be looking at my CSC too...? Been doing some searching and reading and still not clear on WHAT the CSC affects, and when one might want or need to update it, and whether any of that even applies if you're not running a stock ROM or me in my situation.
Can someone provide some enlightenment? Thanks.
Determines which region the phone thinks you are in, which provides restrictions over features and OTA updates roll out dates

OK, thanks for that info. So that leads me to 2 questions:
1) Does "USA" count as a different "region" than Canada?
2) Since I'm using a custom ROM and not doing OTA stock updates, do I care?
One might assume that "restrictions over features" also becomes moot if you're using a custom ROM like RR vs. stock, as it's the stock ROMs with their carrier influence which might have restrictive features (hotpots, for example).

1.) Yes USA would be seen as a different region to Canada as they are different countries, but you also get multiple different CSC's per region too
For example UK unbranded CSCs are XEU and BTU, then you have the carrier CSCs which are carrier branded, but also for the UK for example
VOD - Vodafone
H3G - Three
O2U - O2
2.) No probably not, and generally custom ROMs have all CSC features enabled anyway such as VoLTE etc
Thanks so much. I'm going to learn to stop caring about CSC then. :good:

Dear All,
My friend bought the Redmi Note 5 (China) with global rom installed, but once he was setting up with Canada as region, he did not get face data option in lock and password page. Then reading from the web somewhere, he changed the region to "India" and got that option. He switched back to "Canada" region and the option is gone.
Is there any solution to this?
Thanks.

I'm afraid there is no alternative but to switch the region to India or China. It's a really strange policy from Xiaomi

Just change your region to india and you will have the feature. You can still keep your language set to what ever you want.

Just choose India first, set up your face data for unlock,
And change it back to canada. The face unlock will stay.

I have some questions about Huawei Beta app which couldn't answered by Huawei support team .
I downloaded and installed beta application to my phone. My phone language and carrier are Turkish. There is no Turkey option in regions section of AppGallery for huawei id. I selected Germany.
After some tries i logged in to Beta application. But there is no beta and it says your could not join to any project........
I changed to many countries in Region but still same message.
Using clt-l09 8.1.0.156 (c432patch3) single sim version.
Now my questions
1- Is Beta depend to the language that i select for Android?
2- Is Beta depend to my carrier? If so, can this be bypassed by removing the sim?
3- Do you have any other advices for me to try? (Funky and other services for unlock bootloader costs really much for Turkey...)
I hope i can get answers.
Thanks

Regarding your questions:
1. The BETA is not dependent of the phone/android language used, but of REGION of your phone (ex. C432, C605 etc) Also is dependent of region in whitch you use the app. See answer nr. 3.
2. I think is it opened, but I cannot answer the sim-removal question, because I didn't tried that.
3. Try to change your region within BETA app itself. For example Europe --- UK to Asia-Pacific --- China., Or Whatever you know, that has Beta opened.
Good luck.
, C
Thank you for informations. But there is no option to change the region in Beta app.

OH.
You are right.
All described earlier is applicable for HiCare.
And AFTER you have succesfully signed for a test.
For ex. After changing the region, the ota via HiCare appeared, and after changing again, it disappeared.
But again, you are right, this is AFTER succesfull sign on a test.

Hi, I'm in Hungarian and I can't see the sign up to beta in beta app. Can you help me?
What does this mean?
Carrier Country is actually important. I have 2 simcards - one from country A and one from country B. EMUI Beta 9 project from country B was first available when I activated sim card B and deactivated Sim A.

I really doubt that changing hicare app region will make a difference it is only a app where changing country you can see local service centers, local help phone number to call and so on.
'Update' channel is tied to the phone model number and model number is tied to the region -
* China(gets the fastest updates)
* India(2nd fastest)
* Then EU and US

I don't think so
I personally experience that I got the update always when I changed my country from Hicare and settings
I checked multiple times with Germany,India etc but didn't get the update
Whenever I switched to China , I got the update
It can be because my phone model is Chinese variant but my update is pending due to change in country and when I switched back so gets the pending update
Update your Hicare App top newest Version. Change your Region to India. You get Android 10.
