Hi you beautiful people.
Is there a way of unlocking using fingerprint by pressing the power button and not just rest the finger to unlock.
To clarify i want to actually click the button to wake/read finger print and not just rest finger on it i.e if picking it up etc.
Thanks

Folks,
My hand movements are really limited and I'm not able to pinch this little screen.
Does anyone know if it is possible to customize this gesture? Like a double tap, slide it to the left or even the power button?
Thank you very much!
Best regards,

You only need to touch the screen with two fingers at same time.
Sliding 2 fingers also seems to work. I think the 2 finger pinch gesture is so sensitive that the act of pressing 2 fingers to the screen will register as a pinch.

The new m8 just got root, and I'd like to see if anyone could fix the issue i have with the hardware key placement. Specifically, the position of the power button annoys me quite a bit. On the old One it was at least accessible through your index finger, but the m8 must have been designed by lefties!
I'm looking for a module that would swap the function of the power key with the vol+ key to see if that will fix my little hangup with this phone. No pun intended.
Thanks!

I'm surprised this isn't a bigger complaint amongst m8 users. Well, if anyone finds anything, please let me know! Thanks!

I'm also not a fan of the power button being switched. At least we can double tap the screen to unlock. Cuts down the usage a bit.

Agreed, but it doesn't help when wanting to lock it quickly with one hand after the phone has already been unlocked. I'm more interested in that function than waking it. But glad to see I'm not alone in this.

I use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock in tandem with Nova Launcher and just assign a gesture to it which in turn will turn the screen off and lock. Works great.
I just use gmd gesture control to do a three finger downward swipe to shut the device off.

For my purposes, I'm trying to find a one-handed solution. So 3 fingers is no help when the phone is in-hand. But thanks for sharing your idea!

What I did was use gravitybox > navigation key actions and then set back key long press to go to sleep. Works perfect but I am left handed so you might want a different key.

This is how I do it. Just a single finger swipe upwards shuts my screen off, then a double tap turns it back on. Works great for me!
Now if only someone could figure out how to get double tap (to wake) working in landscape mode.
Hey guys -- I just posted a fresh thread for this, but since I assume you all have weaksauce+xposed working...
After my soft-reboot to install xposed, wifi would not turn on. Did anyone else have anything similar happen?
I did weaksauce, phone off/on, install xposed, full reboot (accidentally), enable xposed, soft reboot, then no wifi when the phone came back up.
Any ideas?
Hey guys, just got my new s6. Is there are way to simple input your fingerprint the unlock the phone instead of pressing the home button first? (same as iohone) I found it uncomfortable. Thank you!

Yes! I usually just press the home button and keep my thumb there. Usually, it goes straight to the home screen and I don't have to see the lock screen. :good:
Thank you for the reply man! This is helping, but I'm looking for a way without even pressing the button, just laying my finger on the button, is it possible?

Afaik, it's not possible.
But you can use it in combination with air gesture to light up the screen first, then unlock. It's found in dexterity & interactions in Accessibility!
I'm trying to unlock my phone by just clicking on the home button and holding my thumb there (for the fingerprint sensor), but almost every time it doesn't read the fingerprint and I have to lift my thumb and place it back down to scan. I know it's a minor issue but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if you've managed to figure it out. Thanks
Read one thumb several times in fp settings
For me it helped a lot.

Put your finger on the scanner and wake up with the power button. For me it seems to be the movement caused by the pressing down of the home button that confuses the scanner. If the finger moves just the slightest bit during reading, then it must be lifted and put down again.
Holding the phone with one hand and pressing the home button with the finger on the other hand also works as you can press down and hold the finger more still that way. It is the one hand wake up and leaving the finger on the scanner that almost always fails for me.
The fastest one hand way for me is to quickly press the home button, lift the finger and then put it down again. This way you can be sure the finger is not moving across the scanner as it is read.
Hi, is it possible to unlock my s7 just by placing the finger on the fingerprint scaner? It's strange that i have to press unlock button and then to put the fingerprint, thx
Nope, press and leave your finger on is the closest you'll get
