Yes! I usually just press the home button and keep my thumb there. Usually, it goes straight to the home screen and I don't have to see the lock screen. :good:

Thank you for the reply man! This is helping, but I'm looking for a way without even pressing the button, just laying my finger on the button, is it possible?

Afaik, it's not possible.
But you can use it in combination with air gesture to light up the screen first, then unlock. It's found in dexterity & interactions in Accessibility!

[need help]Press button twice to lock device

As it is tweaked right now, pressing the rigth button is shutting the screen down, yet not locking the device, which is v. convenient.
However, sometimes I need to lock it, which right now is only accesible via start --> lock. So, what I am looking for is a way to lock the devide by pressing the right button twice (e.g. once only shuts it down, two locks it).
Can you help me?
If you leave it with the screen off for a while, it automatically locks..

It sounds like you've got the known issue where the end-call button does not lock the device.
It SHOULD do that - there's a fault that stops it happening.
After doing Start, Lock, the lock button will then lock the screen, as well as turning it off.
If it doesn't then I suggest you have some software on your phone that has altered what the button does.
Use AEBPlus - keyboard remap program - it's free.
For every one button you can assign action for single, double, triple and long keypresses.
In your case assign "Lock" for double press on red phone button.
I hope that this can help you.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was some of BsB Tweaks' tweaks, dunno which tho, however I find it quite useful as it is. Will check out AEBplus, thx.

There's a button to do that. Why do you need software?
Anyway, I'm not sure if this is for power off or screen off, and there currently isn't a definite answer on the thread (or in the OP!)

Thanks. I can understand a software button so you can quicklink and have 1 touch for power off, but can't understand one for locking the device. We already have a dedicated button for that.

Cause I don't want to always press the hard button to lock the device and prefer to do it by sofware.
I tried this application before but some time cannot lock the screen. Thanks anyway!

well in this case install S2U2 and paste a link in the shortcut and then your problem is solved. otherwise install one touch power button and it makes your device sleep right away and at the same time locked

How to Turn Screen off in HTC HD2

Hello,
Please anyone knows how to lock screen by one touch, like quick lock bottom in iPhone.
Regards,
I think you mean the button on the right bottom of the phone?
The 'end call' button, the hard key.

Power off with lockscreen active lock.
Install one in two.

Add trackball function

Is there anyway to add click activation to trackball while the phone is locked? Much like the way the "home" button on an iPhone/iPod can be used to activate the screen while locked. Its very useful when taking the phone out of a pocket to check the time/for notifications or just to unlock quickly
Agreed, that would be a bit more convenient than the top low-feedback button.

Damn! Im glad that I am not the only one that was thinking about this. I hate having to press the power button to check time or notifications.
I wish I would be able to know how to make something that works, but even after spending some time around here I still dont know how.
Use "ScreenModeWidget"...enjoy

Thats close, but its not the same function and its not as useful since at the lockscreen if you tap the trackball by accident the screen turns off again This one, doesn't

[Request] [Xposed] Module to Swap Power Button With Vol+

The new m8 just got root, and I'd like to see if anyone could fix the issue i have with the hardware key placement. Specifically, the position of the power button annoys me quite a bit. On the old One it was at least accessible through your index finger, but the m8 must have been designed by lefties!
I'm looking for a module that would swap the function of the power key with the vol+ key to see if that will fix my little hangup with this phone. No pun intended.
Thanks!

I'm surprised this isn't a bigger complaint amongst m8 users. Well, if anyone finds anything, please let me know! Thanks!

I'm also not a fan of the power button being switched. At least we can double tap the screen to unlock. Cuts down the usage a bit.

Agreed, but it doesn't help when wanting to lock it quickly with one hand after the phone has already been unlocked. I'm more interested in that function than waking it. But glad to see I'm not alone in this.

I use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock in tandem with Nova Launcher and just assign a gesture to it which in turn will turn the screen off and lock. Works great.
I just use gmd gesture control to do a three finger downward swipe to shut the device off.

For my purposes, I'm trying to find a one-handed solution. So 3 fingers is no help when the phone is in-hand. But thanks for sharing your idea!

What I did was use gravitybox > navigation key actions and then set back key long press to go to sleep. Works perfect but I am left handed so you might want a different key.

This is how I do it. Just a single finger swipe upwards shuts my screen off, then a double tap turns it back on. Works great for me!
Now if only someone could figure out how to get double tap (to wake) working in landscape mode.
Hey guys -- I just posted a fresh thread for this, but since I assume you all have weaksauce+xposed working...
After my soft-reboot to install xposed, wifi would not turn on. Did anyone else have anything similar happen?
I did weaksauce, phone off/on, install xposed, full reboot (accidentally), enable xposed, soft reboot, then no wifi when the phone came back up.
Any ideas?
