Question S22 Ultra US SM-S908U1 enable n78 5G band - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

I got the S22 Ultra SM-S908U1 US unlocked version, I need to enable the n78 5G band for it to work with 5G in Mexico. Found threads about going into UE Settings, and deleting the whitelist, unfortunately I have the Android 12, so code no longer works. I need any help on how to open the UE settings or how to downgrade to Android 11 for it to work, even other options so I can enable more bands for 5G?

+1 to this

You want to downgrade to Android 11 to a phone that was released with Android 12

Point is in android 12 ue menu is blocked or hidden in some other way. OP is asking if there is a way to unlock and access them not downgrade

Using adb you can launch an activity within call settings to change stuff.
Code:
adb shell am start -n com.samsung.android.app.telephonyui/com.samsung.android.app.telephonyui.hiddennetworksetting.MainActivity
I'm assuming you just select "Band Selection Mode" and then under band "Band Selection" you just choose which band. There's a switch on the top right of the "Band Selection" that you need to flip after you have selected the band.

Unfortunately the band is not even available to select, as it's blocked probably due to csc restrictions, so we have to enable it first, that is my issue, how to enable n78 band on Android 12?

This is the threat I was talking about check out his selection list perhaps he has a international model I'm thinking that might be the problem on why he has those bands present.

So it seems like I can no longer launch the activity to change the band due to lack of permissions. I have a US model and I'm using AT&T. I didn't have to flash any firmware to access the menu.

[Q] IM-A890L Hidden code RF band selection help!?

My phone is the Vega Secret Note. The phone does work, and I am able to access LTE 2100 here in Canada with it.
I just want to double check if there isn't any bands that could be locked... I've read somewhere on Naver that it does support LTE 2600. And since LTE 2600 is LTE MAX here it would be my prefered choice if it's available somehow on my phone. I'm wondering if it could be a hidden band that needs to be selected....
*#*#4636#*#* Does work, but there is no band selection on that menu
I am trying to get RF band selection menu.
I know Samsung usually uses : *#*#2263#*#*
But there is limited info for Vega phones on here and around the web....
the closest I came to was using thise code # # 7593 # but there is no LTE band selection menu.
I found this thread assuming since these codes are also from Vega that most would work, but only 2-3 works ...

5G Standalone TMobile Converted to Global

Before I converted to Global from Stock TMobile i was able to select 5G Standalone. Now my only choice is 2G/3G/4G/5G Automatic.
I have the new SIM card which is supposed to be working for Standalone mode. Is there a way to get this option on my phone without root?
I do show 5G on the status bar on top but every cell mapper or signal app i try does not show 5G connected.
I am Worried I am not really receiving 5G although i have checked the speed and I get between 115 to 250 MBPS so I assume this is not 4G?
OK to I got my own answer and I hope this helps anyone else in the same situation.
Went into the phone information settings *#*#4636#*#* changed the preferred network type to NR/LTE
then I went to preferred network type in the sim card settings and it showed 5G/LTE. As long as you leave it that way it will not change after a re-boot. If you change that setting to 2G/3G/4G/5G again you will not be able to select 5G/LTE again unless you repeat the setting in the phone information.
Now my cell mapper shows I am connected to 5G.
i bet you can fix this using qpst. there are missing/different settings in the files I've seen for global vs Tmobile versions.
i actually edited my original Tmobile files to enable some of the bands that were disabled and to allow 5g on other carriers when traveling.
when connected to stand alone 5g your phone status will look like this -

Q: Shift/force 5 II to 5G Mode

Hi,
is there a method in which I can shift or force the Xperia 5 II into the 5G mode, since it is alwaxs in 4G although there is 5G within my network (o2 de) available (on phones of my peers and also stated on the network map)?
Best way would be by settings or so without any flash or a file.
Thanks
It's not probably going there for some reason.
You can check Netmonster app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.mroczis.netmonster&hl=en&gl=US
It shows which bands are you currently receiving and it shows presence of 5G NSA.
As far I know, this phone doesn't work in 5G SA mode (at least yet, but I don't think it will happen due all that whitelists that operators have). Because of that you can be in 5G coverage area, but still you won't be able to connect 5G network. Also even if 5G NSA is working, you can't actually force 5G only mode as 5G NSA can't work without LTE network. 5G is also undesirable option as all phone calls are likely using VoLTE, because VoNR is likely not happening with this phone.
In reality it's actually better having 5G off, because battery life is better without it and 5G NSA is only a bit better (mainly for upload, downloads can be actually worse, if your operator uses 5G NSA DSS). Really - 5G is currently mainly marketing scam*, no real benefits from it yet (Unless you want to show off with 5G icon in front of your friends .
*This is actual example of 5G NSA scam by operator. 5G icon is shown, but does it use 5G in reality? No - it's running in 5G NSA mode and see "Odpojeno" with ! in tringle which means that 5G is not used and operator simply block access to it in this area now (And because they uses 5G NSA DSS, I'm not even mad). But yeah, 5G icon is there, so let's show off .

*#*#4636#*#* will give you "Testing' Menu with 'Phone Information' where you can select 'Preferred Network Type'. But don't fiddle with other settings there. Also if 5G is not actually available I don't think selection of preferred mode will have any effect.
I believe NR (New Radio) only will enable 5G where NR/LTE will give you both 5G/LTE.
NR/LTE is set but still not 5G connection... no clue why

My Moto g 5g doesn't give me the "select preferred network option". I want to use 4g

I bought this unlocked from Amazon. Using boost mobile infinite
I called boost they said it should be able to be done from the phone
I called Motorola they said call boost

What is your model number? Is this a 5G Plus, or Stylus, or...?
We have device specific sections that you'll probably get more help in, so if we know where this thread needs to go, we can move it for you.

It's regular moto g 5g 2022 that is the model name.
You should have a toggle for 'Allow 5G' that will do what you want. If not, use the dial code *#*#4636#*#* and pick an appropriate config under Phone information -> Set Preferred Network Type that does not start with 'NR'.

Awesome. Where can I find the breakdowns of each network type. Which one is 3g. I think 4g is LTE
On the TMO network 2G is GSM, 3G is WCDMA, LTE is 4G, and NR is 5G. CDMA/EvDo would be for Verizon 2G/3G. TDSCDMA was developed in China so you won't see it deployed in the US.
