Cool. Now I wonder which USA GSM carriers have compatible 3G bands (at least hspa 21 or higher...)

For 3G use
Press *#2263# Select there Automatic
Then just install (phone info.apk)
Device information> Select there Golbal
After that u can change in Phone setting>more setting>mobile network> Network mode>GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode)

I don't believe 3g/hspv+ is possible on the sch-i535 with a gsm carrier unless modification are made to a file called 1187.

My samsung phone does not show up under Ports only under Android

[Q] Android SMSC/MMI NIGHTMARE!

My phone is the http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-N7103-Android-Capacitive-Screen/dp/B00CSIU0L6
I have rooted the phone.
I used the *#*#4636*#*# Call to get to the menu, I checked the SMSC as it was giving me issues (I removed the old, replaced it again (the number didn't change, Just thought I'd type it in again to be sure.
I am now aware I need to do this:
For example, my vodafone +447785016005 goes to 0791447758100650110000910000AA00, which shortens to 079144775810065011. Go to the *#*#4636#*#* menu and put that in SMSC and hit update. Messages now send!!!. Hopefully I can save someone else the grief I've had all day...
please use below url to encode the SMSC

However, I am now unable to access that menu using the *#*#4636*#*# or *#*#4636*#*#, code I just get "Connection problem or invalid MMI Code" with ANY/ALL SERVICE CODES ( *#06# still works tho.
So I can't send texts.
Have tried a different sim etc however not able to get to that menu
When I got the phone Tatanium wouldnt allow me to backup my rom
Will a system restore fix this, or do the setting within that menu always remain?
Please can anyone point me in the direction I need?
Yes, I did google it, and go no-where
Mods if this is in the wrong section please move it, thanks.
Thanks

[Q] IM-A890L Hidden code RF band selection help!?

My phone is the Vega Secret Note. The phone does work, and I am able to access LTE 2100 here in Canada with it.
I just want to double check if there isn't any bands that could be locked... I've read somewhere on Naver that it does support LTE 2600. And since LTE 2600 is LTE MAX here it would be my prefered choice if it's available somehow on my phone. I'm wondering if it could be a hidden band that needs to be selected....
*#*#4636#*#* Does work, but there is no band selection on that menu
I am trying to get RF band selection menu.
I know Samsung usually uses : *#*#2263#*#*
But there is limited info for Vega phones on here and around the web....
the closest I came to was using thise code # # 7593 # but there is no LTE band selection menu.
I found this thread assuming since these codes are also from Vega that most would work, but only 2-3 works ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765464&page=16
I've attached pictures of what I have been able to access so far.

Service Mode / LTE Engineering Mode

Can someone please confirm if Service Mode dial codes work on Verizon S6 (Edge) variant? There are a few of them:
*#0011#
or
*#27663368378#
or
*#197328640#
or
*#2263#
If someone isn't sure what this does, it allows you to view which LTE frequency you're connected, what's the Bandwidth of the active LTE channel, what's the signal level and quality, if the Carrier Aggregation has been activated, even allows you to lock onto certain LTE bands, etc. So for example, if LTE on Band 13 is congested, you can force the phone onto Band 4, or Band 2, etc.
This is what it looks like on T-Mobile variant:

Thanks for the response. Once again we'll have to root the phone in order to enable this.
Verizon's been blocking this built in feature from their users for at least 3 years now... sigh

They've sometimes let the codes work, but neutered what's available for info/options underneath. I hate that Verizon does this.
I have a rooted Verizon S5 (not Edge). I tried your codes and, as expected, they didn't work.
What would I need to do as root to get them to work?

The instructions in milan's thread in the general section should work for your device. It's worth a shot.
YES! This worked. I can now access the Service Mode menus after setting the EFS file, as mentioned. Cool! Thanks!
NOTE: I had to use this code.
*#27663368378#
What do you mean by setting the EFS file?
I get an error: Connection problem or invalid MMI code.
my connection is fine, how can I fix my MMI code?
service mode menu
ok so i can access the service mode. but in the up right hand corner where it says "more" what do i enter in the input key option to access the menu for the service mode???
Perhaps you're better off not knowing, I stumbled across you because I'm ready after a long as time of rooting, lurking silently thru the forums, soaking myself up with information, and bricking a couple of devices, to add all the bands to my klte. You're eagerness only denounces your likelihood of messing things up and conning back like OMG WWIII somebody please HHHEEELLLPPPP!!! You're trailing dangerous territory not knowing

My Moto g 5g doesn't give me the "select preferred network option". I want to use 4g

I bought this unlocked from Amazon. Using boost mobile infinite
I called boost they said it should be able to be done from the phone
I called Motorola they said call boost

What is your model number? Is this a 5G Plus, or Stylus, or...?
We have device specific sections that you'll probably get more help in, so if we know where this thread needs to go, we can move it for you.

It's regular moto g 5g 2022 that is the model name.
You should have a toggle for 'Allow 5G' that will do what you want. If not, use the dial code *#*#4636#*#* and pick an appropriate config under Phone information -> Set Preferred Network Type that does not start with 'NR'.

Awesome. Where can I find the breakdowns of each network type. Which one is 3g. I think 4g is LTE
On the TMO network 2G is GSM, 3G is WCDMA, LTE is 4G, and NR is 5G. CDMA/EvDo would be for Verizon 2G/3G. TDSCDMA was developed in China so you won't see it deployed in the US.
