Cascading recent apps menu on Android 12? - General Questions and Answers

Is there a way to bring Android 12's recent apps menu to a cascading look, the way it used to be?

[Request] hide apps from drawer.

When I had my adp1 we had advanced launcher which gave me the ability to hide certain apps so they wouldn't show up in the drawer. I hate having font packs and the like appear in my app drawer. I also hate having redundant apps (desktop shortcut plus being in the app drawer)
Is there anything like advanced launcher out there for sense?
I remove the apk's from /system/apps. That will completely remove the app from your phone (so don't do it to apps you want to keep on your home screen) but seems to work well for sprint/htc's crapware.
You can hide them in LauncherPro.

Ill probably get flamed for this, but I'm partial to the sense launcher. I don't much care for the aftermarket launchers. In afraid though, that I'm bit going to have a choice

If so, how do you do this? I've used lp and bought pro a couple weekday ago, I'm not aware of this feature...

This is a start, but I would still like to see this integrated into the sense launcher.

Sorry for the diversion
What software were you running on your adp?
I wonder if there's anything in the engineering pc36img.zip that would help..
Advanced Launcher was Sense?

On my adp1 it was typically an add on that required you to flash it over your rom or theme.
Just wondering, but why do you like Rosie more than LaucherPro? Please don't say "widgets" because there are equivalent widgets in LauncherPro Plus that are idential to those by HTC, and there are a ton in the Market with identical functionality.
I honestly like the way sense looks.

Notification/Status Bar in Android 6

Is there a way to disable the annoying "feature" of transparent status bar? I've been searching for days and am only finding Xposed modules recommended or status bar replacement apps but I just want to disable the transparency, nothing else. Is there a way to do in Android V6 (Marshmallow) on Samsung Touchwiz?

it s default on android 6.0 system UI so you have use a 3rd party tool or app to disable it.
like nova launcher > setting > looks & feel > disable transparent notification bar
there is no setting in Android System itself

Damn, so much for Android being the OS of "options". Another IOS, here we come?
Is there any other app you are aware of instead of a full-blown launcher? Something simpler?

Got it. Did that, thanks man. Is there a way to disable the "expansion" of notifications by default? After I rooted, all notifications are showing expanded. It used to take a two-finger swipe down to expand each but now they just all show up like that by default. And I'm not even able to collapse them. They start collapsing when I do two-finger swipe up but go back to their expanded mode when let go.

No.
technically when there is expanded option for a notification so user may need to do something! >> it s useful
to collapse it two-finger swipe up should work just make sure put two finger correctly!

The two finger swipe looks like it's gonna happen with the notification starting to collapse as expected but then expands back when the fingers are released. It will not stay collapsed. And they are ALL expanded by default, even a silly screenshot notification and other notifications that didn't used to be expanded before I rooted but are now.

App Notifications [APP] Change any notification sound for any app, EMUI 8.1

I'm sharing another Tasker made app with one simple purpose: get you into the hidden App Notifications menu so you can change notification sounds. As many of you know this menu is not accessible through system settings. There are many methods of accessing it, including Nova, Tasker, or other shortcut managers but they all require work and a bit of knowledge. This app makes it simple for anyone. Even advanced users may find it handy.
It does not require root or any special privilege. Simply launch the app to enter the App Notification menu. This accesses the built in Android notification management system and is simply the best way to manage your notification settings.
Please hit thanks if you find it useful ?
(Because of the nature of this workaround it will only work on the official EMUI 8.1 release for now. No custom ROM or beta support, sorry. Once I've updated to 9 I'll share the new fix if necessary. I have Canadian L04 model though and updates happen here slowly)
Not working for me (P20 Pro EMUI 9 Beta). App doesn't launch when tapped.

I don't have 9 yet but I'd assume you'll find it in settings under Notifications where it should be. AFAIK it was unintentionally left out in 8.1 which is why we had trouble. If it's included in 9 a simple search through settings should reward you. ?
Works perfect, thanks!

The link is working for me, try downloading from another browser maybe. I have no idea if it will run on the P10 but it might. If it does please report back so we can share with P10 users too. ?
This apk is totally useless. It's a joke? The same you can get if you just go to the notifications.

Apparently you do not understand what we're trying to accomplish. You cannot change notification sounds in the menu you refer to in EMUI 8, only turn them off. But there is a secret hidden menu that allows to change any notification sound for any app you like. It may look similar to the one you are thinking of but if you know what you're doing it is very different, there are far more options available. You cannot get to this menu by any other means than sending an intent, whether via command, a shortcut from a launcher or an app like I've shared. Trust me, there is a purpose for this or I wouldn't have so many thanks for it already. But if you're okay with having the same notification sound for every single app on your phone that's cool too. Whatever floats your boat. ?
We can use Nova Launcher to create a shortcut that link to this Notification settings in this thread.

You can use Nova Launcher to do this, yes. Other methods all involve installing a shortcut creation app of some kind and finding the correct settings entry. This app is for people who do not use Nova or would prefer a simple method with the hard work done for them. It's a pain digging through all those settings entries if you don't need to. ?

This app saved my sanity after switching from a LG G5 to the P20 Pro. Many thanks!
I'm sorry, but to change the sound for any app I go to config/applications/aplications/ choose the application I want then manage notification then sound and choose what I want... Using pie with a L29. I came from a custom pie rom on an oneplus 2 and, as i remember, I use to do it like that also... Did I missed something? Sorry about my English.

Android Oreo or Pie Navigation Button Images

Using Samsung's Good Lock app to change out my navigation bar icons. There are some decent ones, but I want the stock android ones. They have an options to use your own images for the navigation buttons but I can not find them online. Anyone know where to look? Or someone maybe have them and want to share? Looking for the "recent apps", "home" button and "back" button from either Android Oreo or Pie.
Any help would be great! Thanks!

How to remove recent apps from app drawer?

I've got a pixel 4a running Android 12, and I use the pixel launcher, however I am frustrated by the five recent apps at the top of the app drawer, and I can't find any way to remove it. Does anyone here know how?
(Also sorry if this isn't the right place to post this kind of question, but it's my first time posting on here)
