Hello everyone, yesterday I tried to flash a TWRP on my phone but failed miserably. It seems after I factory reset on the stock recovery itself, this problem aroused. I tried flashing a stock firmware (A226BXXU3AUJ2) but the following error is presented:
<ID:0/005> Odin engine v(ID:3.1401)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..

<ID:0/005> FAIL! (Auth)
<ID:0/005>
<ID:0/005> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
On my phone it says:
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [vbmeta]
Fused 4 > Binary 3
RP check error : vbmeta
I did make sure to put the correct file on their proper places, I even put the HOME_CSC file in the CSC. I am lost on this one and if somebody could help me then it would be nice. I'm fairly naive on this field. Thank you so much!
Youre not doing this through adb? Ive made the same mistake before you need to use download mode. Edit: build is from november 21?!

I haven't done it in adb though, since my phone is now stuck in the "An error has occured while updating the device software"-screen. I tried it in odin and it says "Added!!", tried again to reflash the stock rom but same error.
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [vbmeta]
Fused 4 > Binary 3
RP check error : vbmeta
This means that you are flashing the WRONG Binary.
Flash the same binary version firmware as you had before.
You are flashing a lower binary firmware on higher binary device
E.g. BIT 3 BINARY firmware on BIT 4 BINARY device.
hello, i would repeat

I am trying to download the Clockworkmod Recovery via Odin and it consistently fails. I have check many threads and cannot find a solution!
-Phone: Samsung Galaxy SIII SCH-1535
-Carrier: Verizon
-Odin: Tried using 3.07 and 3.04
-Clockworkmod: At first I was using a .tar file or version 5.0.2.8, then I tried using a .tar.md5 version of the same. Then I tried using a .tar.md5 version of 6.0.1.0.
-I am running Windows 7
The results in Odin are as follows:
-PDA checked and file loaded
-Options: Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time
Odin 3.07:

On my phone, it reads: SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery
Edit:
History...I had Clockworkmod installed previously.
I was downloading CyanogenMod from Rom Manager and it bricked. I unbricked it with
VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5
BOOTLOADER_I535VRALF2_618049_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5
stock.vzw_root66.7z.torrent
Updated to Jellybean 4.04
Stumped.
After unbricking your phone, did you unlock the bootloader again? It needs to be unlocked to flash custom recovery.

Thanks...
I got an over the air update from AT&T which I guess didn't go well because the settings app kept crashing. I had never done anything technical with the phone so I called them and they recommended doing a factory reset. I tried this and it didn't solve the problem and I was out of warranty so I decided to try and fix it myself. I have tried a few different methods of trying to get the phone to work with different md5 files but nothing has worked so far. I can get to download mode and recovery mode but nothing else. I tried putting version on called root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.7z and got this error message (see below). This one seemed to get the furthest but I'm at a loss now. I believe I have already rooted the phone but at this point I don't care I just wanted to have a working phone.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!
Iv tried Odin with all Bl,AP,CP, and CSC Packages it keeps saying FAIL! (Auth) then a blank log then Complete(Write) operation failed.
For the Samsung smart switch the phone us supported. I have the latest verison and my phone is a Galaxy S7 (Us Cellular) Model: SM-G930R4 still says its not supported.
Im stuck idk what to do and i just want my phone working again! Thank you for the help!
Update: Phone wont enter Recovery Mode nor will start just download mode.
Update: got in to show me i need smart switch recovery. Its says my device is not supported and when i try to recovery feature my phone doesn't appear.
When I apply all BL,Ap ect. It shows
SW REC CHECK FAIL: [aboot]Fused 4 > binary 2
[1] eMMC: write Fail: aboot
When just flashing the AP with odin these are the logs

Try using the modded "Prince Cosmy Odin" with stock firmware first
If that fails, try following this

I attempted to follow that link so i when through the steps came to step two of downloads and had to find a S7 Snapdragon Root .tar so i did and found this XDA forum https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-method-nougat-t3566978 which was the first thing on google searching for the snapdragon.
I followed those steps and i for the error Secure check fail : Boot
I was also able to get it to get into a boot loop once again
When i run odin with the S7_Qualcomm.tar with auto reboot re-partition f. reset time and nand earse all it fails and gives me these logs

Have you tried the non-modded version?
I'd have used that first
ODIN 3.12.3 or newer

IT WORKS!
I downloaded this file
USC-G930R4TYU4BQK3-20171221083318.zip
Wish I knew where I got it from but now my phone is actually turning on!
There was a loading screen iv never seen before thought it show
Installing applications with a black bar then smart switch popped up and the bar was filled instantly with yellow lol iv just never seen this screen before from
past uses of any Samsung device.
Good stuff, just be cautious with that model S7, it's a snapdragon meaning much more difficult to unbrick if you brick it as the bootloader is locked

Its really buggy the OS itself. Its slower the normal idk if its just because of how fresh it is like the flash maybe just give it time?

Did you factory reset after the flash (or use CSC to force the reset)?
I'd reset it, it should be pretty smooth after maybe 5 mins of first boot

Great!!!
Thank you for the Odin Files
You are such a life saver! with the most recent bootloader and a failed attempt at a root, i have been stuck with a soft bricked phone for ages. For the life of me I couldnt get G950U1UES5CRF5 firmware to flash. Every version of Odin I used failed. However this version worked perfectly and now im not using the terrible samsung galaxy express 3. Thank you so much man for your version of Odin!
Thank you for the Odin file.
I'm outside the US and cannot get newer OTA update. Is there any solution to get update files? I searched around this forum but all links of OTA update zip files are unavailable

Can this rom get twrp and be rooted?
Non-AT&T Simcard
Can this rom be used with a non-at&t sim? or do I have to unlock it again after flashing?
If your phone was legitimately unlocked by att it will stay unlocked under all circumstances. If you used a 3rd party, it could be trial and error. Best to contact them.
Also i uploaded a newer version in this thread.
S8 Active Oreo

So I'm trying to reset my phone(regular S8 but hoping if someone else had the same issue the fix might be the same) as a bad rom flash caused some sort of issue and couldn't get back into twrp "official binaries only"
Find latest firmware for my csc (which was july) doesnt work, I thought it might have been a BL issue as I had the august patch through a custom rom, found a different csc which was from august, and I get the same error
I also no longer get the official binaries only, just a bootloop of "An error has occurred while updating....use emergency recovery function in smart switch" which I also tried, no luck, but I can still get into download mode
Using most recent odin, official cable, updated usb firmware and such and am running as admin. Have tried different ports too, but it always fails at same step

You are trying to downgrade from bootloader 5 to 4 (see here Device 5, Binary: 4 )which it wont let you. download firmware with bootloader 5
