[Bug] Aspect ratio changing unexpectedly in Background Play [update: seems to be fixed] - MX Player

Sometimes, when background play is on, and the screen is turned off and on while the video is playing, MX Player will change the selected aspect ratio to Stretch.
Steps to reproduce:
- Set aspect ratio to "Fit to Screen"
- Set Background Play on
- Start playing video
- With video still playing, press side button to turn off phone's screen
- Press side button to turn phone screen back on
- Unlock phone with fingerprint
- Aspect ratio has changed to "Stretch"
I've noticed that this doesn't happen if the phone is unlocked directly from the always-on display with the fingerprint scanner, the lock screen has to be displayed first.
Phone and debugging information are the same as my other thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/bug-bluetooth-media-buttons-not-working.4454321/
[Edit 2022-09-27: Just tested again with my reproduction steps, didn't seem to do it this time. I think this is resolved. I occasionally get issues where the player stops locking the orientation (Landscape video suddenly turns Portrait when rotating phone, when the setting has that locked), but I think that is unrelated.]

[Q] Auto Dimming during videos

Is there a way to stop the screen from auto dimming and turning off while watching videos? It's really annoying to have to keep tapping the screen every minute to keep it lit up while I'm on youtube. I know I can manually set the screen to stay on, but I feel like it should just stay on for videos.
I've only found this to be the case with embedded videos in a browser. The YouTube app itself has never turned the screen off/dimmed during watching for me.

Automatic Low Brightness

Does anyone have problem with Automatic low brightness. When i set it, it works but when a notification comes it goes brighter (this is normal) but after 15 seconds when it goes AOD mode sometimes screen not goes dark again even in low light environment. it keeps itself bright. Then i need to push the one of the buttons to awake the watch then auto brightness low works well as it should be. I dont thing this watch has a good light sensor like s7 or s7 edge phone.

Although i notice this too, it is not sensor's fault, watch does have an excellent ambient sensor. You can test ambient sensor in:
Settings -> Gear Info -> About Device -> Tap several (5 if i remember correctly) times to Software Version -> dial *#0*# -> Sensor -> Scroll down to light sensor -> Click display -> It will show you the raw and lux values from sensor.
Now the problem is at s/w side, OS is not polling sensor readings while it is in always on display mode, so watch stays exactly at the same brightness level as it goes into the aod and since notifications keeps a screen lock that brightens the screen it enters aod with a bright screen. We should report this to the samsung for a fix probably.

Did you change anything except that notification settings? I tried changing notification settings but it didn't make any difference. But flashing my watch did solve the problem or it seems so, so far. I was at R760XXU1APK6 firmware i flashed R760XXU1APK7 now. I don't know if it is fixed because of firmware difference or if it was caused by an application on the watch and flashing got rid of it. I'll update this post if it returns in any point.
Edit: I used the watch during the day today and it is back so it wasn't about firmware or apps after all. Now i regret flashing.

flickering display areas

Hi, I am on latest 11.0.1.1 global. I actually don't remember that I had these issues on v10.x, but definitely since v11. I use 120Hz, FHD+ with all color optimizations turned off and with standard OP launcher.
I experience some flickering of the whole display or just parts of it in many situations. It starts to get annoying.
Examples:
1) open the hidden app menu. Right before it opens the whole(!) display flickers white once. Good visible since the top bar next to the camera hole flickers once.
2) Go here and try to type in any number. The moment the GBoard comes up at the open, it flickers just the bottom part.
3) Lock your phone. When you fire it up and the Lockscreen gets unlocked, if flickers once.
There are so many more situations but the depend on some apps.
Is this normal behavior? How to fix this, if it is not?

NO FULL SCREEN VIDEO - Amazon Prime - Other

Dears,
I'm getting an issue related to videos. When I try to watch a movie, normally with Amazon Prime ( but also with Netflix even with the setting 'play in fullscreen' enabled ), my phone continue to show 2 black bars on left and right side. And the video of course is not shown in a complete full screen mode... On Prime, I try the 'zoom' option but faces of actors have been cutted often.
I can't understand why and what to do. Of course the setting 'fullscreen' is enabled for every video app in the app settings.
Someone has got my same issue ?
- dimensions of PocoX3 screen are 2400x1080 pixels
- fullHD video has 1920x1080 pixels (16:9 aspect)
- if you want to see your video in 1:1 you will have 240 pixels wide black bars on either side of your phone screen in landscape mode
- if you zoom your video you'll loose black bars but your video will be crop on top and bottom, exactly as you described
- completely normal
- if you can live with distorted image, you can with some video players stretch (or fill) you screen in a way no part of video will be cut off (as I do not use amazon nor netlix not sure their players can do this)

[Q] subtitle is fail to display when the LCD display goes blank

Proximity Service - Apps on Google Play
Minimal service for turning off the screen using the proximity sensor
play.google.com
I've notice that when I disable the monitor (by using some apps like above) ,
the system will continue to play the video without any issue , however , if the subtitle is not hard burn into the video , the subtitle will be fail to continue to display .
It will shows the last subtitle before the monitor goes blank , but fail to load the subtitle afterward .
