NO FULL SCREEN VIDEO - Amazon Prime - Other - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

Dears,
I'm getting an issue related to videos. When I try to watch a movie, normally with Amazon Prime ( but also with Netflix even with the setting 'play in fullscreen' enabled ), my phone continue to show 2 black bars on left and right side. And the video of course is not shown in a complete full screen mode... On Prime, I try the 'zoom' option but faces of actors have been cutted often.
I can't understand why and what to do. Of course the setting 'fullscreen' is enabled for every video app in the app settings.
Someone has got my same issue ?

- dimensions of PocoX3 screen are 2400x1080 pixels
- fullHD video has 1920x1080 pixels (16:9 aspect)
- if you want to see your video in 1:1 you will have 240 pixels wide black bars on either side of your phone screen in landscape mode
- if you zoom your video you'll loose black bars but your video will be crop on top and bottom, exactly as you described
- completely normal
- if you can live with distorted image, you can with some video players stretch (or fill) you screen in a way no part of video will be cut off (as I do not use amazon nor netlix not sure their players can do this)

Video recording in HTC Touch

Clicking still photos is fine, but the record video screen has a miserably small viewing area in the center of the screen (about 1/4th of the screens size).
In regular photo mode, the display is full screen. How do I fix this? Any tweaks or other programs etc?

[Q] Dead pixel on screen while taking video of fireworks at night

Not sure if anyone notice but if you are taking videos in a dark room or at night there is what appears to be a dead pixel (green dot) just above the center of the phone. However this might be a software issue because I do not see this dead pixel while taking pictures in a dark room in camera mode. But in video mode especially when the settings is at full HD 1080p you can see it clearly. If you set video settings to 960 by 540 then it is less noticeable but still there. Since it doesn't show up on camera mode I believe it could be a software issue. Could someone else try testing to see if they are having this problem also or is it just me. Just go into a dark room or place your hands over the lens and switch to video mode and set it to full 1080p. When you record in the dark you should see the dead pixel during playback. If I'm the only one then I probably need to get a new phone.
It would be incredibly helpful if you could post one more thread in relation to this matter.
Thanks,

[REQUEST]Video Pan needs edge move limits

Nowadays, OLED screens are dominating cellphones, which have a critical potential problem as screen burn-in if you watch videos long time and high brightness with fixed picture parts such as TV program's banners, logos, letterbox black bars, etc. To prevent burn-in, I usually crop the video picture to make it full screen on my cellphone to make sure no any letterbox black bars appear, then I video pan the picture up or down to move the banner or logo out of the phone screen. Usually I don't need to zoom in as an extra step to sacrifice any more picture(meaning crop more picture) in order to move all static part of the picture out of the screen. Just crop to full screen and a simple pan is enough and it'll work like a breeze. Such is what I do with nPlayer Pro. While MX Player Pro does not allow this as it seems to me. Cos it doesn't limit the boundaries while I pan the video up and down. It's simply a random move like out of control that actually always results in worse scenario for preventing burn-in. Cos you easily move the whole picture's edge into the screen in any one direction. This creates more burn-in cause instead of solution. You just cannot do it perfectly to make sure at least 2 sides of the picture edges are aligned with the screen while you only move in the other 2 directions meanwhile never have any picture edge inside the screen.
For example, watching a Bloomberg TV video(16:9) with a Samsung Note10+(19:9), I need (1) to crop to make it full screen, then (2) to move the picture down to hide the always shown banner from showing on screen. While doing step (2) with MX Player Pro, it's not humanly possible not to move the picture in either left or right direction, thus it always creates an extra black bar either on the left or right. And yet I don't want to zoom in to solve this as I don't want to unnecessarily sacrifice any more portion of picture. I want keep as much picture as possible on my screen. The other thing is while moving the picture down in this case, you easily move too much picture out of the screen and create an unwanted black bar on the top of the screen, while I just need the top edge of the picture aligned with the screen top. If there are limits for edge alignments, each move will be so easy and Video Pan will function like a charm. Otherwise this function just feels half baked and not practical. Seems to me that there's no point to move any picture edge within/into the screen when it's not in. All picture edges need to be either aligned with the screen edge or outside of the screen edge when you pan a video in crop & full screen mode. Never inside.
So, please add move limits to all 4 directions for Video Pan. This will make MX Player Pro perfect. Thank you so much!

Question Screen casting a specific resolution/aspect ratio

I want to screen cast my phone to my tv because my tv doesn't have the discovery plus app.
I can cast my phone no problem but there are black bars on both sides of the picture on the tv. I'm assuming this may be because of a resolution or aspect ratio mismatch between my phone and my tv.
It's there a way to cast to my tv where the image fills the entire screen?
My device is a OnePlus 7 pro
Disable Overscan on your TV box.
change your tv aspect ratio to wide mode or zoom mode whatever you call that thing
The oneplus 7 pro is 19.5 x 9 I'm "casting" using the "Screen Cast" icon in the notification tray. miracast or bubbleunp (not sure which tbh, its an LG tv).
Changing the aspect ratio on the tv doesnt work. I need a phone based solution. I need to be able to just send a 16x9 signal.
When I watch 16x9 content on my phone, there are black bars on the left and right because my phone resolution is 19.5x9 and so im projecting that to a 16x9 screen, its literally casting my whole screen.
@jwoegerbauer I have no such option when casting video from my phone. It's stuck at 16x9

[Bug] Aspect ratio changing unexpectedly in Background Play [update: seems to be fixed]

Sometimes, when background play is on, and the screen is turned off and on while the video is playing, MX Player will change the selected aspect ratio to Stretch.
Steps to reproduce:
- Set aspect ratio to "Fit to Screen"
- Set Background Play on
- Start playing video
- With video still playing, press side button to turn off phone's screen
- Press side button to turn phone screen back on
- Unlock phone with fingerprint
- Aspect ratio has changed to "Stretch"
I've noticed that this doesn't happen if the phone is unlocked directly from the always-on display with the fingerprint scanner, the lock screen has to be displayed first.
Phone and debugging information are the same as my other thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/bug-bluetooth-media-buttons-not-working.4454321/
[Edit 2022-09-27: Just tested again with my reproduction steps, didn't seem to do it this time. I think this is resolved. I occasionally get issues where the player stops locking the orientation (Landscape video suddenly turns Portrait when rotating phone, when the setting has that locked), but I think that is unrelated.]
