Question iPhone FB Messenger doesn't receive photos from S22 Ultra FB Messenger - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Hi,
I normally send multiple photos from my phone via FB Messenger to people with iPhones. And they are not getting them.
When I repeat/resend - they get it.
People with iPhones just get the message (title of my photos) but not the actual photos. Those photos are not downloaded later either.
Internet connection is OK (LTE works perfectly).
Forums suggest turning off data savers etc. This is turned off at both ends.
Does anybody know why iPhones are not getting FB Messenger photos?

Does this problem only occur when sending to iPhones? Have you tried logging out of FB Messenger and logging back in? You also should try clearing FB Messenger app and cache data.
It could also be a FB Messenger back end server problem.
This seems to me to be an app specific issue and not with your phone nor the recipients'.

Mostly to iPhones. Because most of my relatives uses iPhones. So can't tell how statistically Android users didn't get my photos.
For the context - I send like 15 photos at a time.
It happened with the my previous Galaxy Notes as well. I did few factory resets since I purchased S22 Ultra. And between resets I had this problem. I think it counts as cache clearing and logging out and back.

Sending 15 photos at a time is a lot of data. Try sending 10 at one time and see what happens. I am still thinking it is either an app problem or a back end server problem. I'm leaning a little towards the latter because of the amount of data your sending at one time.
According to FB, the attachment size is 25MB.

Try a factory reset. It was taking SO long to push some emails from an account that is relatively empty so I just had about enough of that and decided to do a reset and everything is peachy. Instantly the emails started to load up into the inbox and 5 seconds later it was done.. Amazing!

I have the same problem. Any other than a factory reset? because reinstalling everyting and reconfigure all my phone that's a bummer.

I agree. Got a weeks worth of time invested in getting this thing set up and programs installed (and paid for).
Mine too doesnt do anything until I go into the mail program. It wont even save my changes I make in the email settings. I set mine to automatic, so they arrive as soon as i get an email, but it keeps going back to the 15 and 30 minute settings. This is my only issue with the phone.
Can someone who has done a hard reset try saving their settings to automatic, go into task killer , kill the email program and go back into email and see if it saved??
Instead of using the "email" program I use the "gmail" built in program and I get instant emails. But then again, I use gmail.
Same here. I use gmail for my personal account but for work I use the regular mail app on the phone. I also set up gmail on that app as well. The actual gmail app works great but my gmail account in the regular mail app doesn't--it will tell me I have gmail mail a couple hours after I have already looked at it in the gmail app and marked as read. Same thing with the work mail, things show up much later then they should.
Haven't found a way to fix it yet.
Are you guys using a task killer? If so and the email program is not ignored, the task killer will close the email app...which at that point is running services to retrieve your email.
In the same boat. I have both GMail and the Email program. Gmail is of course instant, however the built in email is horrible (at least with Exchange). I'm not killing it with taskkiller, and I've deleted and reset it up multiple times. I installed Touchdown and gave it a try, however it really didn't seem to make a huge difference. Unfortunately I think it's something we are going to have to endure until 2.2, which supposedly has Active Synch improvements.
I don't have experience with Exchange but really, a reset will speed up a lot of the loading screen "lag". That's the only thing that will.

And after the reset do you use a restore of titanium backup or do you have to do all resinstall manually and re-configure everything (like home screeens and apps)
The issue isn't so much loading screen lag, it's a long period of waiting to do anything (open, reply, delete) when navigation in the program. I'm assuming (more like guessing) that other phones simply make everything appear to happen instantly, and then perform the tasks in the background unlike on Android where everything is done real time.
For instance on my Blackberry and iPhone when I selected 5 emails and chose delete, all 5 would disappear and I could continue working. In Email I select the 5 messages, the program says Messages Deleted then I watch for 5 to 10 seconds as the messages are deleted one at a time, preventing any meaningful use of the program until the process completes. I've checked the Exchange logs, no errors or anything out of the ordinary. It works, just very slowly.
I had the same problem, but K9 instead. After a _lot_ of testing, gnashing of teeth, and pulling of hair, I think I've found the cause.
Email and K9 both appear to store stuff in the /data dir. This is the exact same location that others online have found to be drag-ass slow and the general cause for black screens and/or lag in general. Which pretty much describes exactly what was happening to me with Email and K9. Search here or at MoDaCo for more info on the lag issue.
The solution is to either hope Samsung can somehow fix the speed of the internal SD card or store data elsewhere. I'd be amazed if Samsung ever fixes the speed issue. And storing data elsewhere isn't an option build into either application. K9 might eventually have that feature added, but I doubt Email ever will. There's a potential fix shown at MoDaCo, but it involves rooting, updating the kernel, and partitioning an external SD card. Nothing difficult, but not for everybody.
Touchdown has an option to store data on the external SD card, so it shouldn't suffer the same problem. I haven't played with it yet to see if it does or not.
As for why Gmail seems to work ok, that's a little trickier. It stores under the same path as the others, but it appears to work in an asynchronus mode, relying more on what you have on the server and only checking the local copy if it can't hit the network. At least that's the best explanation I can come up with for why it seems to work much better than Email or K9.
I was using the Nexus One 2.2, with 2 different Exchange syncs and gmail... NO Problem at all.
Different story with the Captivate... Not rooted, with ATT bloat... hardly any other apps loaded, tried both popular loaders. The email is all most unbearable (and unacceptable), reminds me of the iPhone 3g, if not worse.
Hopefully we'll see a straight 2.2 build soon, or I'm really considering returning the phone (already sold my N1 for a chunk of change).. I have 27 days remaining for a return.
Stock 2.2 is the only way to go.
I'd love a stock 2.2 build! But... unless we get lucky with a major change in the driver for the internal (non-sd) filesystem, I don't think it's going to help with the e-mail issue (or the general lag/blackscreen issue) at all.
It's definately not the at&t bloat, I have mine rooted and all of the at&t apps removed. I definately think the data parition fx is the best route to persue.

You haven't tried a reset? The Email app syncs my GMail account quickly for me, however before I did a reset it was loading in my emails one at a time and was noticeably poor.

Email constant connection error

My email seems to be working fine. I can send and receive email and view the contents of my various folders. But, it seems like every time it syncs (e. g. Every time I send an email), it displays an error message saying it had a connection error. As shown in the attached screen shot.
I went into Settings / Accounts. I only have one email account and it's an Exchange Activesync account. It is set to sync mail, calendar, contacts, and tasks. I toggled the sync for each one off and then back on. After I turned each one back on, that thing would sync and then display this same error.
Any idea what's going on?
I have had this problem also, but only when I was losing a weak wifi signal, or I was VPN'd to my work network. Either of those scenario's playing out with you?

Idon't think so. Settings shows WiFi signal as Strong. And I'm not VPNed.
This happened to me today too. The same connection error, but with g-mail. I had to clear the cache and data of the stock e-mail app. Then, when I restarted the e- mail app, l had to re-enter my account info. Worked fine after that.

I've gotten that pop-up randomly from day one on my Exchange account. It's never impacted what the e-mail client's actually doing. I've even gotten it while I'm watching a ton of e-mails download properly like when re-connecting after a plane flight. So I'm treating it as a false alarm until proven otherwise. Hopefully an update makes it go away.

My connection error was constant but I was only getting it from the stock e-mail app. I could reproduce it consistently by touching the refresh icon. But, when I opened the g-mail app, it could access everything fine. The error wouldn't stop until I reset everything and re-entered all the account info.
Stock email has problems with exchange server. Mine was having problems with office 365. it happens to all sgs ii, iii and note 10.1 ics versions. You have to clear contacts auto complete list. After that it was working ok with emails but Splaner is still not syncing well, only one way from server to device.
To empty auto complete list, go to file, option, email, email sending, empty auto complete...in office 2010.

I had a problem with my email the other day and ended up doing a factory reset and reinstalling all my apps, etc.. I didn't have this error before that happened.
I will try clearing the app's cache, etc. and re-setting up my email.
Thanks, guys.
ps. my problem the other day was that I could not compose a new email message (including replying to a received message). That turned out to be because I had turned on Force 2D GPU rendering in Settings/Developer Options. I wish I had figured that out before doing the factory reset... *sigh* Just FYI.
Thanks again for the help. I deleted the account, Cleared data and cache, rebooted, re-created the account, and now all seems well.

I have this error as well. It does not seem to impact emails, but I have problems with S-Planner not displaying events. I can sync events with S-Planner both ways, but some events just won't display in S-Planner. I have not yet found a common cause or a way to reproduce a non-syncing event.
[edit]
Ok, I went ahead and deleted the account and added it back again. For now, it syncs alright, let's see how it goes.
I think what I did different this time was to create an Active Sync Account from the start, whereas the first time around I selected "Email" and then Active Sync at the prompt when you go into manual setup. Could this make the difference, how exactly did you guys set up your accounts?
Now I only have one other problem: when I first added the account, the Exchange events in S-Planner were a nice green, but this time they are kind of a pastel shade pink, which I don't like at all. Can you change the color anywhere?

[Q] Delay in Yahoo! Messenger received messages?

I got the Razr Maxx HD about 3 weeks ago. I use Yahoo! Messenger a lot and from the start I noticed that when someone sends me a message through Messenger, I don't get it right away. Minutes will go by then I get a whole string of messages at once. Its almost like they got "stuck' somehwere, piled up, and then arrive at my phone at the same time. Very annoying. On my previous phones this would not happen, the Messenger conversations were much more fluid.
My phone is not rooted, is stock with all the updates to date. I tried clearing the cache and data of the Messenger app, but that didn't make a difference. I have also factory reset my phone, that did not make a difference. Anybody else see this or have any ideas on how to fix that?
Thanks,
Lenny

Oreo Bug w/Facebook on Samsung S8+ (Oreo, VZW)

Trying to see if ANYONE has a solution to Facebook not logging in on the main Facebook account. If you use the "Dual Messenger" capability you can log into Facebook and Facebook Messenger from the secondary account, just not the first. Facebook Lite and Messenger Lite work also. When you try and log in on the main account is just keeps booting back to the log-in screen. I have tried:
- Clearing Cache
- Clearing Data
- Uninstall/Reinstall of Facebook and Facebook Messenger
- Install of older version of Facebook and Facebook Messenger
- remove 2-factor Auth for Facebook
- Change Facebook Password
- Turn off Code Generator
and probably more just can't remember
You can also not log into a Facebook account under the "Accounts" section in Settings. This only works with the main Facebook account on your phone and will not register the Dual account. So, that is why you really need to have the main account working or none of the apps that work with Facebook will see Facebook (other than the Dual Facebook Messenger app). One other interesting thing I found was that if you click "forgot my password" and put in your email, it says there is no network. Obviously that is incorrect since I logged in to the app, as well as everything else on my phone is connected to the network, and it sent me a login code. (Tried on Wifi and LTE to see if that made a difference too)
I tried calling Samsung and their only response was to restore the phone (just like always) which is really a copout. I also put in ticket with Facebook (3 actually), but they really have no support. I even went into a Best Buy store and there was a Samsung Expert there that day. She tried anything she could think of as well and NOTHING worked.
The thought now is that it is probably an issue related to Oreo but wondering is anyone has run into this issue and has a fix. I have seen numerous posts about the same issue with What's App, Facebook, and Facebook Messenger.

It's amazing that not one person has found a solution for this. Based on Facebook and Facebook Messenger updates still not working and the multiple posts around this same thing happeneing with WhatsApp too, it looks to be a major Oreo bug. Hopefully there will be a patch soon before many other people log out of one of these apps and can't log in.
Obviously Facebook "support" (or lack thereof) has yet to respond to ANY submission, post, or anything on any mesia throughout the hundreds of posts from people.
i suggest you to backup your device & do a complete factory rest your device because after os update users face this type of problems a factory reset may help you

I have read many posts where this is happening on WhatsApp and Messenger and a factory reset did not work either. I know that is the first answer for any support line but usually it is because they don't know anything and they just want to tell you something. I am not sure how a factory reset would do more than resetting all settings and resetting Facebook itself. Also, just think there is more of a bug since Facebook Messenger actually logs in but immeadiatly logs back out.
If there is anyone who has actually fixed this issue from a factory reset I would happy to try, as I have tried EVERYTHING else. So far, the only posts I have found say it did not work.
Well, tried the full reset and just as I figured, a LOT of time waisted. Still does not work. The second "Dual" user of Facebook works fine, just not the first. The ONLY difference is that now, instead of instantly looping back to the login page it stays on a screen saying "logging in" for about 5 min before it just stops and goes back to log in screen.
EDIT...FINALLY figured out the issue...it was related to an ad blocker app. I had tried turning that off before and didn't work but I think after the full uninstall, reboot, reset, everything of Facebook it FINALLY decided to work.

Keep getting old texts back. It replays the conversation as if it was new texts

I have a Google Pixel 4A 5G with CalyxOS. Also tried Graphene OS. The stock texting app in those OSes does not support group chats which I use a lot with family, so I ended up installing QKSMS as it's the only app I can find that does support group chats and that works decently.
However, randomly I will start getting old texts back, it's super annoying. It basically replays a past conversation and I just get all the same texts. At one point it got so bad I had to just switch back to my old phone because I was being bombarded with old texts. Now it happens maybe once a day, where it replays the conversation from a week ago. But it's random, sometimes it's a conversation from a day ago.
I also tried an experiment, when it started to happen I put it in airplane mode to see if it continues and it stopped, and when I took it out of airplane mode it started again. So it's like if the phone is actually queering the server to retrieve the messages again. Is there a way to make this stop? I just want to get the texts once. Or is there a way I can troubleshoot this, like some kind of logging I can check to see why it's doing this?
Also open to trying another texting app if it's related to this particular app, I just have not found any in the Fdroid store that seem to do group chats, and it's hard to test this feature without trying it and it annoys people when I do it.
Just bumping... really hoping someone can know how to make this stop.
I tried switching to Signal (still SMS/MMS since that's what everyone I know uses) and it's still doing it. So this is not an issue with the specific texting app...
I really don't know what to do anymore, this is so annoying. I may give in and go back to stock android but I really hate all the spying crap it does.
