Question Fast Charging on and off - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hey guys, something I've noticed recently with my X3 Pro is that whenever I have it connected to a charger that uses some kind of fast charging protocol, it'll charge for five seconds, disconnect and then repeat. It happens with all sorts of chargers and cables, all of which have worked fine in the past. Using standard USB-A to Type-C connections work fine but even the USB-A fast charge port on my power hub gives it this issue.
I've been looking online for solutions, tried air blasting the charging port, there doesn't seem to be any other kind of battery irregularities like a swollen shape or an increase in battery drain, now I'm worried that it might be the Type-C port itself. I'm running the latest version of Lineage OS but it doesn't seem like the OS has anything to do with it either as the charging problem persists when charging while powered down.
What do you guys think? I'm hoping it's not a hardware issue but I want a second opinion.

I have The same Problem.
Only The original charger works with fast charging. Haaven't found The issue on The Internet before your Post. Ist there a solution? Maybe this is Kernel related?

Poco x3 NFC nowhere near fast charging
So, here's my issue. Original cable N brick, charges almost nothing. Putting the brick N cable into my old not fast charging supported phone gives 1200 mA. Unbelievable N here almost nothing. Running MIUI 12.5.4

I tried 65w charger, phone didnt support fast charging, only original works well

[Q] OPO Charging Cable not working with OPO

Hello so i have been using OPO since a month now and suddenly it won't charge so i tried to charge it with a different chargers and they were working..
but here is the thing i don't understand..
the original charger with original cable which came with it is not charging my phone but the same charger is working with other phones so it means the charger is fine.. more over when i plug my samsung usb cable in my OPO charger then it starts to work again but i'm not receiving 2A charge from that cable..
please suggest me something guys..
btw i'm running latest cm update XNPH33R
anyone ? the charger seems to be working with every mobile.. please somebody suggest me something..
It's possible the charger is damaged and only capable of producing a certain percentage of it's original Amperage.
So if you plug in a phone that, say, takes only 1Amp it may work fine but it will break down when your OPO tries to actually use up 100% of the charging capacity.
Smartphones detect unstable/unsafe power sources and can reduce charging current or refuse to charge at all, which may be happening here. I had a defective charger too - in idle it was still providing 5.01V but it did not manage to handle any significant load.
Open a support ticket with OnePlus and have them replace it. In the mean time, I can recommend Anker's wall chargers but any charger will do.

Kernel/DCDC issue?

Posted this over on the timurs kernel Reddit but he wanted to get all defensive about it and deleted it cause his kernel is perfection in his own opinion. So I'm copying it and pasting it here. Just want any info on it I can get.
When I first setup my nexus I originally used my cigarette lighter worked fine then I converted to a dcdc converter and set it up for 5v when I hooked the nexus up there was a pop and a burning smell but every thing worked fine. Other than I noticed a horrible battery drain issue. After a few months I discovered anything I plugged in was draining the battery even if the tablet was off. The led on the phone charger would even light up even if it wasn't plugged into the wall. Got another nexus and everything worked flawless for months with the same DCDC and timurs kernel. Plugged it in took it out multiple times with no problem. Yesterday I decided I wanted to give marshmallow a test. It worked fine to other than it wouldn't charge due to the OTG cable and the way the stock kernel works so i flashed Element Kernel and enabled OTG charging and fast charge. It came on it charged and everything except music was playing through the tablet and not the DAC so I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It wouldn't charge..... Then I realized the charger had welded itself into the port and wouldn't come out. Finally got it out and tried it again. This time the tablet went black and won't do anything the port is melted on the tablet and the cord has melted plastic in the end. Is it a DCDC converter issue? Or a kernel issue? Maybe fast charge related? Just asking cause of the problem I had at the very beginning. Do you think the LCD might have survived? If so I was going to buy another nexus with a bad screen for like $25. Any input would be greatly appreciated just too keep it from happening again. Thanks in advance.
Fast charging burned cable? Ampere value?
You should put 'fast charging' in the title.
I used Timurs kernel on a 2012 Nexus 7 and the batterie was getting so hot, I had to disable fast charging. Since I used a Y usb cable to charge the tablet and only one usb device (usb ethernet adapter) there was no problem.
Maybe you should use an dc adapter with less Ampere output? Normal Charging is 0.5 Ampere but fast charging was up to 1.5 Ampere for me (checked with one of the cheap 'USB Charger Doctor Voltage Current Meter Mobile Battery Tester'). Maybe 1.0 Ampere is enough? Or use a thicker usb cable?
I think the LCD is fine because the overpower destroyed the mainboard only. But look inside the Nexus and see yourself!

Poco F2 Pro limited to 0.5a charging

My Poco F2 Pro charges fine (and very fast) with a USB-C to USB-C cable connected to a USB-C fast charger such as a Samsung. But if I try to charge it with a USB-A to USB-C cable connected to any charger, the phone only draws 0.5A ( I have a USB power dongle to check this ) and that's not fast enough to actually keep the phone charged when in use.
Every other phone I've tried will at least draw over an amp, even those which support fast charging.
I've tried multiple chargers, multiple cables, and nothing except C-C with fast charging will actually charge the phone.
Is this normal behaviour for the phone, or do I have a fault with mine. (It was bought second-hand with a warranty, but no charger or cable in the box).
No it's not normal, mine charges at least at QC3 speeds with various compatible chargers, powerbank and cables. Even with Huawei's fast charger, which seems not to be fully compatible, it charges about 2A (measured in accubattery).
It has a strange behavior if it's like that. What about original cable and charger, that's A to C, should charge very fast.
I had another issue regarding charging, whichever charger/cable I was using (let's say max 5V/2A), in accubattery it was measured around 3A, and the charger would overheat like crazy. You know when you want to charge slower, all what they tell you on the web is to use a less powerful charger... and this is what I did, but not with great results though. On my previous phone it was working just fine. On my wife's Mate20Pro it's also working well, but not on F2Pro. Even if the cable was rated 3A and I would connect it to the original charger, it would still draw 5A from it... Only way to solve it was AccA apk so I limit the current that the phone draws and I'm happy.

Unfortunately I don't have the original charger and cable as it was a used phone which is otherwise in perfect working order. I've had no problems with c-c fast chargers, but nothring else works.

What ROM is on the phone right now? May I suggest going completely stock with MiFlash to rule out the software part?

Just search and buy original charger if u want full charging speed, one guy made a great test of different chargers and different cables on this phone, check this here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/poco-f2-pro-charging-study-how-fast-does-it-charge.4189013/
There's something wrong with his device.
0.5 A is too low for any charger.

battery slowly charging with ac, normal with wireless

hi all,
I'd like to submit you a strange behaviour of my beloved nexus 5.
Suddenly, with every charger and cable I can merely reach 200 mAh, very slow charging that actually doesn't allow the phone to charge up. On the other hand, wireless charging works quite well, at least i can recharge the battery.
What do you think? could it be related to the flex cable/bad usb port? USB otg works....
on the other hand, could it be a motherboard related problem? (but in that case, why does wireless charging work?)
thanks for your ideas guys!

Poco X3 NFC not charging any more

I need some opinions on what part to repair on my Poco X3 NFC. My story is the following:
One day, precisely 2 years and 2 months after purchase (so just outside of any waranty, grrrrrr...), my mobile stopped charging the battery with a normal 1 Amp USB charger. Only a fast charger with USB power delivery still worked. 5 charging cycles later the phone did no longer charge at all, it ran out of battery and couldn't be turned on again.
I changed the charging port PCB, which is quite cheap and for a few days things were normal again. Then the same thing happened: Only a fast charger with USB power delivery still worked. 5 charging cycles later the phone did no longer charge at all.
Now my phone is dead again. Since changing the charging port PCB with the IC was not the problem, what do you suggest to do next?
Had the same problem.
Neither new charging port nor a new batterie helped.
The problem was die Mainboard cable. It only costs a few euros/dollars and is very simple to change.
I don't understand how a cable which doesn't move can break but the problem was definitely the cable.

Do you happen to have a good explanation why this happened to me twice? What are the odds of "first normal charging breaks, then fast charging breaks a few days later"? And to continue speculating: do you think I need a new charging port PCB this time as well?
It looks like my charging problems are solved by using a new charging port PCB and cable. At least for now the phone is still charging. However, I seem to have problems with 4G reception after the change. Does anyone have similar problems? No 4G after charging port PCB change?
I had the same issue with not being able to charge. I also couldn't use the aux port anymore. I replaced the port dock, but happened to break the main flex cable so I also replaced that. So it could've been either.
My 4G is working fine. Maybe you messed up the antenna?
