Question Netflix HD issues - Samsung Galaxy A12

Hey does everyone able to stream netflix in HD? Mine says SD, I really want to be able to stream netflix on HD. Also i checked my DRM info and it says Widevine l1, But on netflix app it shows Widevine l3. Thanks in advance

Try this https://github.com/jonas-coded/netflix_hd_patch, but is so old...
I'd reccomend you to use this: https://github.com/longseespace/netflix_patch .
Decompile and patch the new netflix apk.

Does this work on newer netflix versions?

Honestly I don't know, I've never tried. Sorry.

same here. loads up, starts to play the movie, loading and buffering (isee the data transfer), but no playback. first time i've actually used it on this device though, i've only tethered with it before. works fine on my verizon nexus 6.
i'm rooted, deodex, and with beastmode kernel.
Just tried Netflix this morning, same deal, just buffers forever.
I'm rooted, running stock deodex with beastmode kernel.
Anybody without root tried Netflix?

I'm not rooted and I get the same thing.
Downloaded an older version from the Netflix website and it works fine.
They say it's for the "Galaxy Tab 10.1". This will work for now until they fix the problem.
Seems like Netflix was recently updated and is still not working.

I think it deals with tripping Knox's and flagging the device, so it may never effect other device's besides Samsung. I haven't notice issues with other devices outside of Samsung. It may also be something with the latest Lolipop.
I have no issues with Netflix. Rooted stock rom

Ah ok.
Off topic, but I wanted to use some of their inverted apps but most of their apps are older versions of Google Apps.

They get around to updating them. Just takes a little while as the playstore is constantly updating. To me their work is worth the wait. I prefer that to the minute updates that are normally provided by google.

Easy fix after root. Use a root explorer and go to /system/lib/liboemcrypto.so. Rename the "liboemcrypto.so" file to "liboemcrypto.so.bak" and you'll be able to stream netflix and use other video streaming apps. I take no credit for this fix. Credit goes to "chipworkz".

Why I canĀ“t install Netflix App on Vivo Nex?

Now I need to know why the Google Play that I have installed on a Samsung A9 Pro on the right lets me download the Neflix and google play installed on the Vivo Nxx left, it does not let me install it

Netflix doesn't install in phones that play Store is "Uncertified" due to legal matters. Due that the Vivo phones are Chinese and do not have native Google applications Play Store is Uncertified if you check Play Store-settings-About-Device Certification.
You can sideload the application via APK mirror over the internet and have no problems with it. That is what I did.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Same here.
But you can install Netflix by following these instructions: help.netflix.co m/en/node/57688
(Sorry, not yet allowed to post a link)
Can you check the ViVo Store ? It same that you can take the app there.
The vendor who sold me my NEX pre-installed Play store and Google Framework on the phone before I received it. I'm in the USA. I was able to download and install Netflix with no problem even though Play Store shows my phone is Uncertified. I've only watched one movie, but can say I've had no problems. Could be something to do with a setting. I don't know which one it is. When you find the solution just let us know.
I uninstalled Netflix and tried reinstalling from store, but Device incompatible comes up. So I can't install it. No worries for me as I only tried it as a test. But if you get it installed the first time and are a user, don't uninstall it.
Netflix works fine.
I am, using the Netflix 6.8.0 build 28933 beta apk
Link below:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netfl...tflix-6-8-0-build-28933-android-apk-download/
Only problem is it does not update on its own.
I installed Netflix from the Vivo app store. Working with no problems.

For anyone who has installed Netflix on NEX - can you please check whether the phone is Widevine L1 or L3?
If you install the free app DRM Info by Android Fung - Widevine certification details are mentioned at the bottom of the first page.
India global ROM installs from the play store without issue.
Netflix app working perfectly fine in my vivo nex. Just download from google play store, open the app, it might crash. Then go to its setting > storage and clear the storage. Then restart the app. Netflix will work perfectly fine.
Use the v-appstore it's on there I have it working without any issues

OnePlus: side effects of an unlocked bootloader / custom rom

The OnePlus 7 will be my first OnePlus device, not going for the Pro as it isn't worth the extra money IMO.
Anyway
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/help/oneplus-6-rooting-disadvantages-t3797477
Having read the above thread...
I assume the Widevine L1 to L3 "problem" also applies to the OnePlus 7 (Pro).
But I can live with that since I really want adblock on my phone.
All my previous phones have been HTC devices, where - if you had installed a custom rom - could still update the phones firmware by flashing a zip via fastboot/hboot. These zip files only contained the firmware, recovery, bootloader,... but didn't touch the system partition, so you could keep using your custom rom afterwards without any issues.
Since I know that the stock OS on OnePlus devices is very good, I am not sure if I will be installing a custom rom anytime soon.
However I would still like to know if the same is possible on these devices?
Judging on what has been possible on previous OnePlus phones, yes, you should be able to flash firmware only separately when using a custom rom.
You know you''re in the wrong forum? You want to be here.
Has the loss of widevine been confirmed in 7 Pro? I've asked before and didn't get a response. I have a Pixel 3XL rooted and can play Netflix hdr perfectly.

It is confirmed. as in OP6T, at least in my device: 9.5.4 GM1913.
Additionally I would want to raise that, possibly, digital wellbeing was disabled as well while on unlocked OP7P.
Could someone confirm it with Locked Bootloader?
Thanks
Yes, I can confirm that digital well being is disabled after unlocking the boot loader while it was working when I still had it locked.

Once you unlock the bootloader DRM keys are lost happens on every phone afaik, And defaults to L3 have to relock the bootloader to get back to L1.

May occur on most, but not all. I came from a PixelXL and this wasn't an issue. Honestly, this is about the only thing that has made me hesitant to unlock the bootloader on my OP7Pro.
Well I'm watching my Full HD shows now somewhere else... Somewhere, where I don't need L1
