So, after a couple of months running Android 10 without any issue, my MTC-D PX5 screen froze yesterday, and after a power off/on the screen never came back to life, but the panel lights did, showing a low-level boot-loop.
I tried to abort the booting process... no luck. Then I inserted the SD I used to upgrade to Android 10. Screen came back to life, Android 10 logo first, then showing the circle with the "preparing to upgrade" and then this:

ERROR:do_rk_firmware_upgrade-->GetFlashInfo failed!
Any idea how to recover from here?
This is related to the SOM firmware, right? not the MCU...
@marchnz Do you think that your USB on-the-go HW mod to connect a PC directly to the SOM would help solving this?
Any help is welcome !!!!

If SD card method doesn't work, double check the files used and SDcard.
If SD card just won't work, use OTG / PC-SOM

I was flashing my gsmarti's ROM this morning... I follow all the steps and it is successfully go into the "flashing environment"... Unfortunately, the process stuck at the beginning... and suddenly, it turn off itself... then, I cant switch on my phone anymore... and I dont even get the static Gigabyte screen as well...
Is there any solution to this?
Thank you!
Do you know where to find the Rom Upgrade Utility for your phone?
If you go to your carrier's website and log into it, do you by any chance have a downloadable file that will restore your phone to its factory settings?
There's also many different GSmart models .. which one do you have?
I looked up Gsmart phones, and their support site has firmware upgrades listed for some of their phones .... see if you're is listed.
http://www.gigabytecm.com/eng/gbc_supportcategory.aspx?sid=7&tabIndex=3
Thank for you reply =)
Actually i am using gsmart i (64)... and i have the latest firmware with me...
Because this device is using POCKET GHOST to restore and backup the system...
as i mentioned earlier... my "flashing" process is stuck at the beginnig... so, in my opinion, i think the pocket ghost has been deleted and i cant do the flashing anymore... is it true?
If it run's Windows Mobile ... you should be able to run the RUU at the bootloader screen....
As far as how do you get into the bootloader on your phone ... I have no idea.... on mine, I soft reset while holding the camera button in and keeping the camera button held in until the bootloader screen comes up which looks something like this (note i just randomly found this pic on google images)

Hi... thank you ya...
but i am still stuck in the black screen...
and i cant find any way to access into the bootloader...
i am searching the other sites... and i came across this:
they said if anything goes wrong during "flashing", the ROM will be locked...
is that true?
and one more thing, the bootloader, is it almost same as the bios (cmos) of
our pc?
and for your information... a lot of people are having the same problem...
thx thx... appreciate!! =)
Is this the bootloader?
Yep, that is our bootloader for the Gsmart series. On the i300 its accessed by pressing the red phone, green phone and power buttons at the same time.
If you want to change your ROM then you need to load the new version to your SD card (and I think it needs to be the only contents on the card).

I've been researching this tablet and there is nothing specifically for her.
I have some doubts:
1) The factory brings Rom does not have the ability to factory reset it, you might not have root. In total reset option but does not give anything.
2) Nor has the USB debugging option so I can not connect to the PC, connect and no response
---------------------------------
A real headache, I have EXPERIENCE in other tablet but with this or not and where to start.
- This tablet shaped enter in "Recovery" from the beginning ?.
I've been playing with the keys of power + menu + center key and varying options but does not enter into recovery mode.
- Is there a way with everything explained to charge any firmware ?.
I think it read in this thread the adapter is 24 Pin, s but the manual firmware loading indicates the need to connect the USB tablet.
- What would be to avoid mistakes most appropriate firmware according to the information provided ?.
Thank you very much anticipated by the aid.

Hi,
I've been having problems with this phone, everytime I turn on the data plan it keeps poping up messages that all the process have stopped working so whenever I rebooted this keeps happening.
I tried going into recovery mode (e3) and wiping (factory reset) everything but this doesn't work, everything remains the same,
So I was trying to follow the guide to root it and load cwm recovery (from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1899736) but it is not working.
I installed the drivers and I'm able to see my device in the windows explorer but when I start the runme.bat to root the phone it just throws a bunch of error messages.

}
So i tried to load the cwm recovery using the flastool and the process completed with no problem (the green circle appeared) but when I turn on the phone it loads the stock e3 recovery mode.
Is my phone broken ? what do you guys suggest I do ?
thanks in advance
i have this problem to :S somebody can help us??
Liquid Gallant won't reboot
I've got the same issue as mentioned in the post before; does the owner found a solution for his issue?
I tried to follow the tutorial on this forum and got the same issue when installing the *. bat file. File runs but won't detect the phone and closes.
Untill now the problem persists; frequent crash and shut down while using (wathever what, phone, internet, apps,..). I have not much experience with smartphones but it seems to me the internal boot is corrupt. Are any possible tpols or hints available or should the item be returned to ACer (when you know their helpdesk and utility service is crap!)
Same problem
Hello,
I had the same problem last year. I couldn't hard reset ( tried the 2 ways: via the settings or via the volum button when you start). It doesn't reset anything. The applications closes by themselves and I cannot do anything.
Last year, I sent the phone under the warranty and they repaired it and sent to me back.
Now I have exactly the same problem but my phone is not under warranty anymore.
Does anyone found a solution ?
Thanks.
Dear Community!

I installed a Pixelexperience ROM to my S7, worked pretty well, no issues (Rebooted many times, without any issue*)
*One time the battery drained and it turned off so I plugged it into a charger and it went to the TWRP loading screen.
I can hardly go into the Odin (Download) mode, but the problem is:
Windows gives me an error saying "A request for the USB device descriptor failed (Code: 43)"
The error was there since the Pixelexperience OS was installed (Even when the phone was on!)
I tried everything what possible to try to reinstall the stock firm, or just boot into the pixelexperience, but I think this is the end for the phone.
What I tried:
Cable:
- Tried 5 different cables, tested each other with other devices, everyone is working, but not with my Samsung
PC:
- Tried with 4 different PC running Windows 10/11
- Tried with USB 3.0-2.0
- Tried with, and without Samsung drivers installed
Phone:
- Ofc, tried to force reboot with volume down+ power button (Same thing, booting into TWRP)
- Let it drain overnight. Last thing I tried to do, but sadly no change.. If I turn on a charger, it boots into TWRP, not even to the "offline" charging screen.
If anyone can help me to cure this stupid problem, I would be very thankful.
Or maybe this is the end?
The partition has probably been corrupted. Don't ask me why, there can be many reasons. If you can turn on the phone in download mode then try uploading the stock ROM with Odin.

This is the sad part, because with 4 different pc with 5 different cables not recognise my phone as an USB device (Code:43) You can read it in the post. :\
Hello everybody!
Yesterday, on 28 of December, I had a massage on my BV4900 pro that a systemupdate is now ready to be installed.
After download of 2,48 GB file the installation went on, the phone started in the next step. On the screen was this white circle and the installation-progress was shown under. After the update was completted, the phone didnt start. The screen ist black. I cannot do anything with it. I tried to flash the firmware or at least the preloader with sp-flash-tool, but cannot. The connection to sp-flash-tool is with 100% but then I see under device-manager is "Media Tek PreLoader USB VCOM (Android)". So the flash-tool does not flash. I tried with volume buttons to stop the battery-loading, but withou sussess. What can I try more to save the phone?
Some more informations: The red LED ist on, when the phone ist connected to pc or power-supply. The phone was rooted. The last android version: 12
And maybe this picture will help:

Just a Hint:
Do not flash preloader! preloader is responsible for preloader mode (which used by SP Flash Tool)
Do not use "Format all + Download" option. Formatting whole emmc will brick device.

Yes, I did it already. Nothing helps.
I spend the second day with this problem and do not come forward.
you already tried another cable and another PC? then probably usb jack is faulty. you shouldn't flash anything via usb then!
I am not the one who told you - you could try other flash tools. do not flash, just try to read back for now...

Somebody else, who maybe has an idea?
I found this discription of the error:
The phone seems always be on. With power button I can only "restart" it. How can I shut it down?
Is there a tool I can use for switch the phone off?
Or maybe cmd-command for shutting down the device on com-port? I cannot find anything in internet. Only with adb. But I have no connection to adb, the phone is over adb not rearchable.
Maybe someone can show me the test point for this smartphone?
