Hi, I've been with Google play Services since yesterday, draining my battery, they are always connected in the background.
I have deleted all the data, I have deleted the app updates but it is still the same.
Does anyone know what it is due to? any solution? format the phone?

Disable it when not needed.
Google Background Transport, Playstore and Gmail are dependencies of it. Even when behaving it's a power parasite.
If you factory reset the issue will likely return... don't attempt to fix it like that!
Clear system cache, use Device Care to clean storage, clear Google GMS data, disable Google Framework if present and Backup Transport*. Turn off Google Firebase.
You can also try deleting then recreating your Google account but like a factory reset don't expect miracles if you do... just wasted time.
*if consuming excess battery with screen off Backup Transport is a likely suspect.

Keep the junkware off the device.
Update/upgrade at your own peril.
This stock N10+ is still running on Pie, hasn't been updated in 2.5 years, it's current load will be 2 yo this June with minimal maintenance. It's still snappy fast and stable. Security simply isn't an issue. What's not to like?

I have one game install and it's internet access is always firewall blocked. Just because it's on Playstore doesn't mean it's "safe".
Any Google services in general tend to be a pain and battery hogs. I normally keep Google play Services disabled unless needed, that tones Google down a lot. Gmail, Playstore and Backup Transport are some of it's dependencies.
Firewall blocking Playstore after activating bought Playstore apps and also firewall blocking those apps themselves cuts down the constant Playstore lincense checks.
Karma Firewall uses very little battery however it's valuable logging feature is not functional on Android 10 and above. However it will still block apps, services and list those present. Lost is the time stamp of the app's last internet connection except on Android 9 and lower... this is a very useful feature.
For stock Androids other firewalls are available but many use a lot of battery. Not sure of a better alternative with low battery usage on Android 10 and higher. It may exist...

I've been sitting on this for a while but finally decided to speak up on it. I've been reading advice all over since the Froyo days that clearing Google Services Framework is a good idea to solve some play store and/or random app related problems. It is not a good idea to do this. Let me explain why:
Google Services Framework, among other things, contains device data for services like the awesome C2DM (Cloud to Device Messaging) service. What is this you ask? Well, in a nut shell, it is responsible for delivering messages from the cloud to your phone for a particular app without requiring that app to run and constantly maintain a data connection. This was introduced in Froyo (If I'm not mistaken) and helps conserve battery life. For example, Angry Birds Friends has C2DM because it will notify you of someone beating your score without the app running in the background. Angry Birds Friends does not use the on boot permission, so it needs not remain running eating up data just to receive notifications. Understand? A lot of apps are designed like this and it is a very good practice for developers who want to include notifications without needing their app to run in the background all of the time.
Clearing Google Services Framework will cause the C2DM service for every app that uses it to fail until that said app also has its data cleared and is launched and configured again (first time use). If you've ever wondered why your notifications for certain apps stop working, it was probably due to reading advice on clearing Google Services Framework to solve some other problem.
If you don't mind setting up all of your C2DM capable apps again, then go ahead and clear Google Services Framework data. However, if you have quite a few apps, like myself, then clearing it is a bad idea. I found this out a long time ago. There may also be other side effects associated with clearing Google Services Framework, but this is the one I've never seen mentioned before.

Guys, I'm losing my mind over their wake and battery use. I'm on Slim 8.0 and franco r63 and already done the following:
Yeah, so I've turned OFF 'wake' in privacy manager, I've cancelled 'wake' permission in Android Tuner, I've disabled ads / location activity, and turned off sync and STILL I get ~40% drain from stinking GOOGLE SERVICES!!
Last night was last straw of me, so I wiped / reflashed SLIM 8.0 and franco kernel r63, set max CPU to ~1450, max GPU to ~380, downvolt ~25ma and waiting to see result.
WHY are google services such a PITA when it comes to WAKE and BATTERY USE when I've obviously disabled their ability to both WAKE and COMMUNICATE?
It's driven me absolutely BATTY. My wife's S4 has the same issue and I'm about to be DONE with all Google crap on her phone also.
I've google the issues and they are THOUSANDS of reports of similar problems.
If ANYBODY has a better idea I'd really appreciate it. Different ROM, different kernel, ANYTHING.
UPDATE: 4 hours 37 minutes > 90% left... with a lot of 9gagging in that time

Had the issue earlier today. Settings > Storage > Clear Cache > Reboot seems to have worked.
Make sure to not disable GPS, doing so for some reason will have that process constantly scan for location and keeping your device awake.

Never heard of the 'GPS on' trick, but I checked location and no apps have requested location.
I tried to load a 'mini Gapps' package for SLIM but it's same story, device NEVER sleeps. No sync, no location, disabled 'wake' for the services, everything... glad I backed up the system with NO Gapps because I'll likely be restoring...
Really, really, really pathetic that SO many people have this program. What the hell is wrong with google??
Im convinced google play services is nsa spyware. Anyone care to prove me wrong? I would feel bette if you could. I have uninstalled it several times and it WILL NOT GO AWAY. And it uses more permissions than any other app I have. It will not stop running. It behaves like a virus in my opinion. Am I just a conspiracy nut?

1. Google uses it for things like Analytics
2. Most apps depend on it as a framework to do things, hence the permissions
3. It updates in the background automatically
4. This is Android. Android means Google.
5. If you don't like that, switch to using the Amazon app store, or buy a crappy iOS device.
Well, I just removed it (it was a pita due to no recovery on phone so i gotta be delicate!) and maps still works. Thats the one app I cant live without. I havent checked everything yet but nothing I have used thus far seems affected. Used TB to remove market links.I use an alternate app store already. My phone runs MUCH faster. I will never own a crappy Iphone device!!!

You don't need GPS ON, just freeze google play store and services and enjoy LONG battery life. Only thing that works for me 100% of the time....
I get a daily "some processes are using cpu restart phone" prompt in my notification bar. I can't find what is causing the error. Dev options only shows ram usage. As the title says, what's up why did they remove this troubleshooting option for non root users? Any input on this error? Good to be back btw.
Meh, that's one reason I'm still running Pie on my 10+.
When it happens look to see what was cache last. I use Device Care for this but my version is the factory load one. The Developer options one may not be as useful as you can't clear them like you can in DC.
I've found the root cause for many nasties like this...
If you haven't done a factory reset after the 11 upgrade... it's time to.

This is one of the reasons I'll still running on Pie, I know 11 is a mess. Securing the phone from the user is bs... unless they're morons. No way to protect that sort of user anyway
Maybe you can use ABD to enable logging in Karma Firewall or other advanced features now blocked in other trusted apps.
You can use the trial and error approach, something which I use a lot in lieu of proper diagnostics. Be aware that dependencies can cause a ripple effect as well as false usage reporting. Especially with Google system apks
Disabling, firewall blocking, clearing their data, clearing system logs can be much more effective than rebooting the phone. I normally now keep Google Play Services package blocked except when needed; it's a known trouble maker to me.
All cloud apps, Google Transport/Framework*, all carrier/Samsung/Google feedback as well Google Firebase are package blocked or disable.

Block Android Systems UID 1000 with Karma Firewall as it's almost never needed. It's not neccessary to firewall block Google Play Services if it's packaged blocked otherwise try doing so. Both of the above apks needlessly ping the internet constantly sucking up resources.
Karma Firewall uses virtually no battery, it's a gem.

Awesome I'm dl'ing it now. It's just beyond me on an octacore cpu any process would cause this error unless it's erroneous. But than how can you tell when they remove such a basic ability like monitoring app cpu usage.

Google sucks elephant balls bad. It was hard with Pie but now it's even worse.
Google doesn't care because you aren't the customer, you're the product.
The lack of user monitoring makes Google's data mining easier than ever for them to do.

Ok so for about 3+weeks I've been having this issues. As the title states, this gplay has been running in the background for hours. Today it's been 8+hrs. Idk what it is. I googled, I disabled the background usage, turned off the data usage for it, put it to sleep, wiped data/cache, uninstalled updates, installed newer versions - all no dice. If anyone could point me in the right direction it'd be greatly appreciated.
It's a core part of the OS and shouldn't be disabled. If you really want to kill it then get Package Disabler Pro and do it that way.

It's junkware. Disable until you need it.
You can firewall block it with Karma Firewall which will help a little but it will continue to use some resources. Karma Firewall uses almost no battery, freeware.
Google play Services is another prime offender that I keep disabled unless I need it to get Gmail or use Gmaps.
Disable Google backup transport and Firebase as well.
Gookill sucks... with them you're not the customer, you are the product.

I uninstalled Google Play Services and Google Services Framework (Galaxy apps and Theme Store), and use F-droid and Aurora store instead.
Boost carrier Moto g Stylus 5G 2022 XT2215-4 with Android 12. Google Play Services App is DISABLED. I cannot completely disable the Google Play Services Availability alert option in the Phone App (SHOW NOTIFICATIONS locked). Other apps allow the user to disable the Google Play Services Availability alert. Is there a fix for the Phone App?

You can temporarily disable Google play Services. I normally do unless it's needed like for Gmail. Playstore, Backup Transport are also a dependencies of it. Pretty much a menace... even on Android 9

Thanks for your input. I disabled Google Play Services. Even removed it using ADB. Unfortunately, I cannot turn off the alert in the PHONE APP that's looking for Google Play Services (see attached screen shots). The radio button to disable the alert is greyed out.

Phone app is fully functional. The issue is the alert message prompting the activation of Google Play Services. I can turn off this prompt with other apps, but not the phone app.

Yes. Since the notification cannot be disabled, it can become annoying after a while.
Google Dialer is currently your phone app and is set as default.
Install a 3rd party dialer app of your choice and set it as default. Now you'll be able to disable Google Dialer (or Phone) app from its app info page.

Excellent! Will install the other option. I also have the 6 GB RAM version of this phone from Metro. Per app inspection, the other phone app is identical in revision number, but it doesn't have the Google Play Services Availability radio option.
If time permits, I may remove Phone App via ADB, then download the next Phone App apk. I don't know if Google Play Services Availability is hard coded into Boost's Android 12 build. Thank you very much for your input.

On Samsung's they use their own phone/messaging apps and Google play Services isn't mandatorily intergrated into them so they will run fine without it. You're going to have to play with it.
Completely removing Google play Services could cause headaches. It maybe possible to block the popup via a adb edit but no idea how or if possible on a non-rooted phone.
All Gookill apps are a pain and Google play Services is integrated into them to a greater or lesser extent. 3rd party phone app... maybe.

I suggest that you install the alternative app first, set it as default and test everything is working fine (although there is no reason why it wouldn't) before attempting to remove the stock dialer.

A whole lot of apps are dependent on Google Play Services. On one of my devices, I disabled it and soon after I got some 12 to 15 notifications from different apps asking me to enable it. The notifications were so frequent and annoying that I just re-enabled it for peace of mind. 🫣

Will test drive the alternate phone app. I also saw a bunch of alerts, but I was able to kill them by going into each app and disable the Google Play Services alert radio button. The GPS's main function is probably to update the app. All the apps are fully functional without GPS running in the background.
Google's is in the business of data mining. That's why I want tight control of all Google apps whenever possible.

Updating is handled by Google Play Store.
Google Play Services offers a whole range of services that apps use, such as location, push notifications, etc.
If you are able to find apps that offer full functionality without depending on GPS, then you'll be fine disabling it.

I use HERE drive. Download the map into your phone and turn ON location. Hopefully, I only need to use the SMS and Clock app. But I agree, a lot of useful stuffs are in the Google ecosystem. Chrome is significantly faster than Firefox per my setup. Edge was fast until it got bogged down with AI search. This is how they push you to upgrade the processor.
