Hello I have Poco x3 pro global version. I rooted my device and installed Kernel manager and there I saw CPU core control and I made some core offline and online again just randomly to check the performance difference. But there is an issue I am facing is when my device getting a little bit of heat the core 1(Little) and core 5(Big) getting offline. I used to check the CPU cores. After using Kernel manager for 6-7 days I had never seen any of the cores going offline. But recently I am facing the problem. So I thought it might be a Kernel or the app problem. So by not taking any risk I flashed stock miui 12.0.6 firmware and rooted it checked it again and the cores are still going offline no other cores only core 1 and core 5. Then I installed miui 12.5.9 eu and checked it out it still going offline. I know that CPU cores are online by default and when It gets hot it gears down the frequency but making cores offline Is a new experience. Did i gave a path to CPU to act abnormal by making some cores offline and online. Ohh when the they are getting offline significant amount of lag is being seen. Apps opening speed is pretty slow frame dropping in animations when opening apps. When my phone was not rooted I did face lag when heated up but not this much. Is it normal? Am I overseeing the fact. Please let me know I am

using latest fkm on a crdroid 9.0,
i use this mainly to disable the sh*tty prime core....
any solution to this mate?

Make super your phone become cooler. Problem solved.

I asked the question in the dev thread, hopping for a fast answer,but want to ask here too:
Can we trust the CPU usage, individual for each core, that is displayed by the app????
This app displays, at the top of the screen, in the notification bar, what core is used, with one column for each core
So with our asynchrone dual core, one of the column is often empty, when the other can be half full, or full, in normal use, this seem to be OK (even if the used freq for each core is not read, as the dev says, but is the usage correctly read??)
But I noticed the second column, so second core, very often starts filling too!
I used to think Android 2.3 is not supposed to handle dual core, so that almost all the time, only one is used????
That was for me, and for what I've read, the big reason why we have really bad scores on every benchmark?
If CPU monitor is right, I can see the second core easily waking up when the first one is already full, sometimes just a little, sometimes 50%, sometimes 100%
INCLUDING DURING BENCHMARKS where CPU monitors displays both cores running at 100%!!!!
So what is true here? Is CPU monitor fooled by Android 2.3 and shows the second core waking up when it's not?
Or does indeed our second core easily wake up, including in benchmarks, meaning our pittyful scores will never be greatly improved since both cores already release their power??
Need more infos on these asynchrone dual core, the way they work and are supported by Android 2.3, what HTC did to implement this, etc
Not a single answer from a dev of someone with more knowledge than me concerning dual core architecture and the way Android can handle it?
I had an answer from the dev of CPU usage monitor:
The CPU usage information is abstracted in both cases at the App level. Apps just need to read the standard CPU usage information at the OS level to gather its data. Control of when and how the dual core magic works is not a worry at the app level since the OS handles it. Hope this helps.

So...........
=> In normal use, the app shows one core only running, very low if no app running, sometimes when the first one is full, the second one starts working a little after the first one is full, 10%, 25%, etc, for apps requiring a little more power, everything seems very logical for an asynchrone dual core CPU (wasn't I told that Android 2.3 doesn't really manage async dual core???? When we overclock, don't we overclock only one core?)
But when doing a Benchmark, or playing heavy openGL games, the app displays that both core run at 100%, CPU at its max power for both cores!
So if it is, even with a better rom once S-OFF or better drivers, our bench scores will always be very low
I need this to be confirmed or not, if we already have both cores running at 100% during bench or openGL games, we can't expect much more from our Sensation :-(
I'd be interested to understand this also.
I appears that the Gingerbread doesn't support Dual-Cores properly.

I've a question regarding clockspeeds. Since yesterday i rooted my tab, as an early adaptor i experienced the lagging, heat failures etc. Since the JB update i've the feeling that the cpu doesn't run on max speed, also scaling the other cpu's is not as fast...
I downloaded several cpu monitoring apps, i found out my cpu never reaches 1.4Ghz. Max is 1,3Ghz, i don't know of thats for real or a bug in the monitoring code. But several apps have showed this, ex system tuner, also i found out that almost never the fourth cpu comes on. I'm not an excesif gamer, but for the test i played asphalt 7 and nfs shift.
Do you guys have an idea how to solve/tune? I already flashed the Vorbeth GPU OC (Thanks!:good but i wasn't able to find any more kernels or CPU mods.
To me its very very annoying that have a quad, but scaling very very conservative (I don't care about battery), i just want to ramp up and use all the cpu's hence i'm a multitasker.
Overall, i've the "feeling" that the heat issues are solved by using a very very conservative governer and not scaling max. Maybe i'm totally wrong, and i would be happy to hear that. Right now i feel kinda screwed.. by acer.

power saving level "balanced" is 1.3ghz, "High Performance" is 1.4ghz. It got introduced with an update. So your monitoring app is correct.
It could be possible to clock the A700 to 1.5ghz, but I wouldn't go higher since it's already getting hot enough on high CPU usage.

Thanks, however i've always turned high performance on. I forgot to mention, but aslo during testing.

so i have been trying to get my girlfriends A700 on a modern version of Android, but so far stuff like Omni ROM or Pacman ROM had REALLY bad performance. I'm talking about 7-12 fps in the launcher and most other apps, which to me is unbearable. Today i was experimenting with kernel settings, and for this activated the CPU usage overlay.
It showed that 90% of the time only CPU0 is used and all other cores are deactivated and idle. I'm not sure if this is intended behaviour, but in combination with the choppy performance it's kind of suspicious to me.
So basically i have 2 questions:
1) Are all the Android 4.2 and up custom ROMs just really slow, or is there something wrong on my gfs device?
2) Should the device be running on one core all the time?
Mine is quite laggy too (currently on PAC rom).
Did a couple of updates via Google Play Store today and had a look at the CPU overlay. All 4 cores showed up to 1,25 GHz.
No idea how to check the fps though.

the phone been heating alot.. the CPU temperature is normally 45C and it raises as we use.. when gaming it goes between 60-65 C and when i run benchmark tools or play heavy games over an hour the temperature goes above 70C the top i observed is 77C..
isnt a processor supposed to shut off at 70C? as for safety reasons till it cools down?? how much this snapdragon 615 processor can get the most? will it burn or burn other internals?? please some1 clarify my doubts! i even noticed many people are facing the same kind of issues with samsung and moto phones which runs on octa core processors.. is it a hardware related issue or a software issue???

No It will not burn any material. It is not the PC Processor, but it seems that your device heats a lot, may be it is a manufacturing defect. Try asking others with the same phone. And don't overheat your phone, dont play games for hours and hours

i dont play games that long.. with this device its hard to play for more than an hour.. 90% of the ppl having this device facing the same issue but most of them seems to be not caring.. some even said the snapdragon615 can withstand up to 100C is that true??

I can't find any temperature values on the qualcomm website. Just write a email to qualcomm for first hand iformations Phone's kernel works with thermal throttling, means depending on the actual cpu temperature the cpu clock is lowered to protect the cpu from overheating. If your hardware works as it should, you can't overheat actual processors by using I suppose. If you can find a custom kernel you probably can set own values for thermal throttling. In any case you should try a kernel tool e.g. Trickster Mod or Performance Control for setting up the cpu. If you think its getting too hot, just deactivate some cores or lower the cpu clock, your phone will still be fast enough for all your applications.

70-80 Degrees isn't a "Worry" Moment, It's actually quite normal for a Octa core to reach that high what do you expect? Since a phone doesn't have a Fan or something like a PC, so it relies on something else which needs longer time to cooldown.
My Nexus 5 using Quad Core reaches almost the same Value (65-70).
Remove the case if you have one since a case will have your phone increase in temperature too.
thanks.. i already hve done it.. i bought a flip cover which i used only for an hour... i worry only when it exceeds 70C.. i can feel the heat near the cam.. it gewts hard even to hold it. i heard meadiatek processors doesnt heat only qualcomm processors does. is it true??
is there any other phone with the same kinda heating issue? like over 70C still survive??

then i guess only the experianced/developers in this forums can help me.. all i wanna know that if its safe to have such high temperatures ( 65 when gaming and 75+ when running benchmarking-stress test) is it ok with this qualcomm anapdragon 615 processor... some said these processors can withstand upto 100c and 90c is the cutoff temprature unlike the old processors.. can some expert who is experianced with developing any apps for any quad/octa core processor out there please help me. i just want this much info only

I know that the LG G Flex 2 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 2.0 GHz quad core and a 1.5 Ghz quad core (octa core) CPU, but after i have runned a couple of benchmark tests in Antutu, I got a score between 35000 to 40000! That's way slower than Samsung Galaxy S5's Snapdragon 801! I thought that it whould get a score over 50000 When I see info about my CPU in Antutu after bemchmark test, it stands that the first four cores has a frequency of 1.5 GHz, while the other four cores has a frequency of 0.9 GHz (two of them are "sleeping" a lot)! Is it possible to fix that? I hope so. I've got the 16GB version with 2GB of DDR4 RAM. The device is upgraded to 5.1.1 Lollipop. (Sorry for bad English, I'm from Norway)

i got mine at Tuesday. I can pretty much say i never experienced a lag before even tho i had many apps in the recent apps tab and also i was playing high quality games and it got a little bit hot but still it was working flawless, very very fast. What i did after i updated to 5.1.1 i did a factory reset, then i downloaded only the apps that are indeed from lg apps such as calculator downloads quickremote (because most of them are useless and slow down the phone) and then i downloaded a custom launcher and greenify. Also use the google keyboard from google play store. better to use google's apps rather than lg's. Since then i never experianced any lag before. try it out. If u need more help tell me
That is really low. Go into settings and into battery saver and check if you maybe turned it on, and also see if you checked option to optimize battery in games.
Try restarting the phone and run antutu again, after a couple of minutes..

You are from a cold country so it should help. First try let rest the phone and launch antutu when it's at room temperature.
Then try with an ice pack on the back. It can be ice pack for injuries (kind of thick gel in plastic bag) or for cool box or ice chest, whatever you call it. But don't use it too long, you may have condensation inside the phone and it will trigger the humidity sticker (for your warranty).
Don't launch antutu after a reboot, as it's warm after a reboot. Or reboot and let it cool down first.
