[Q] Sim card unlock with rom changing

Hey,
If i change the rom of a xperia does the sim lock (only working from 1 operator) will it dissapear? What can I do to remove sim lock on the phone?
Changing your ROM will not simunlock your phone. Your carrier may give you the code to do it, or their are websites that you pay for an unlock code. Most of them are fairly cheap ($5-$10). The most expensive one I have seen is for the Note which is $25. That being said, once you are sim unlocked, changing a ROM or doing a factory reset will not re-lock the Sim.
Can unlocked s4 be updated to kitkat without re-locking?

Hi.. I have a 4.3 running, unlocked i377m(Canadian s4). It was not factory unlocked. I made it unlocked in a small store. It was rooted when i got it back. Is there any way to update it by flashing to kitkat? I cant get any updates from about phone menu. It says its phone is modded and can't update.
Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks in advance

Sim unlocking question

Hello, I just bought an Alcatel Onetouch idol 3, from my Romanian provider(Vodafone), as I saw in other threads over here, everyone's talking about sim unlocking on websites, but my question is..
Is there any way to unlock the sim via bootloader, or flashing another firmware ?
Thank you
I also tought of the next way:
Unlock bootloader via WinDroid, gain the supercid, then use the windows update utillity to make an firmware update to an unlocked firmware
What you think ?

No one has reported on this forum to my knowledge a successful sim unlocking from a provider purchased idol 3. Here in USA it comes out unlocked from Amazon. I think you are confusing bootloader and sim unlock because I know of no "firmware" method of sim unlocking short of having the unlock code....although I certainly could be wrong Since you have only so many tries the best method is get your provider to give you the unlock code. Here in the USA you can get one from your provider if your account is in good standing and it's been 90 days since your last request. Most folks tell them they are going overseas and want to be able to use the phone....something similar might work for you?.
I went to my provider, and checked it there, the unlocking code was 60e, because the contract was still available, anyway..
I went to a GSM, and the guy took me 10e to unlock it xD

Dual Sim with Unlocked Note20 in US

Seems I can get a great deal on a US unlocked Note20, but for my use case I want to dual sim it with a physical Verizon Sim and a T-Mobile e-Sim.
Can I do this with the unlocked phone, or is there a way to flash the firmware to the T-Mobile ROM to be able to do this? Do I lose anything by buying a U1 generic unlocked version?

I am using the same setup with a U1 device. Flash TMobile firmware, instructions are in one of the threads here.
I have question if I flash T-Mobile firmware, what bloatware comes with it. Secondly both sims can be non-T-Mobile or eSim can be only T-Mobile and nano sim from other carrier?
Both sims can be non TMobile.

Question Locked to Tmobile, flash firmware.

Hello,
If I recently purchased a flip 3 and am on a payment plan, tmobile won't unlock my phone unless I pay it off in full. Is it possible to flash the default software of the unlocked model so I can get updates from Samsung and still have my sim work? I'm not switching carriers, do I need the tmobile version of firmware for data/phone to work if the phone isn't unlocked?
Thanks

Yes, you can flash the unlocked version of the firmware and your phone should work/receive updates as if it was an unlocked unit. Worst case scenario you can just reflash the T-mo firmware and go back to what you currently have. Good info here:
F711U and F711U1 Firmware Links and Flashing Discussion Here
(WIP, files are currently processing and uploading) For those who aren't already aware, F711U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the Z Flip3. The F711U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM...
