Hi all. I am a very newbie in this mod thingy.
I didn't realize a phone that I brought online was mod
I updated e LG software.
After reboot, screen stuck at cwm recovery purple screen.
Can't get out of it.
Did whatever I could - hard reset, wipe this n that.
PC running Windows 8 can't detect phone when plug in.
Sd card not detected.
Root Access is missing.
Cwm version 6.0.5.0
What else can I do to restore phone to original rom d838.
Many thanks for the help and advice

Hi, thanks again.
I can't go pass the recovery screen. No matter what I do it will go into the recovery mode.
I can't go into the download mode.
The PC cannot detect the phone as well.
Tough case.
Hi guys,
So today i tried to install TWRP on my Galaxy S8+ with odin
after reboot it asked for somekind of reset so i did but TWRP wasnt installed.
I tried it again but before it rebooted i checked if TWRP got installed and still no TWRP
so i flashed it again without booting in to the phone.
Phone reboots.. well actually NOT.
its not booting up and keeps showing me the Samsung Galaxy S8+ text with powered by Android below.
So now i tried to flash the stock firmware again but odin keeps saying FAIL (DeviceInfo).
i only can get into download mode, recovery mode buttons doesnt work.
also tried it with Smartswitch & Kies but after downloading the firmware it wont recognize my phone.
Please someone help? i really dont know what to do anymore...
You can download Samsung Smart Switch and choose the emergency software recovery option. You'll loose everything on the phone but it sounds
as if you're already there.
It will ask for your phone serial and exact model no., then it will download the latest release and install.
Usually will work from the screen your on, but if a prob., boot into download mode.

What device model do you have?
I assume its a 955F or FD?
Please dont tell me you have a U version.
sent from my Note FE, S8 plus, S7 edge or S6
1. Download earlier firmware AQF7
2. Hold power, volume down and bixby button for download mode
3. Open Odin on your PC
4. Add the AQF7 BL and only this
5. Hit start and straight after this hold the 3 buttons in again power, volume down and bixby (this should fail at first and bring you straight back into download mode)
6. Now back on Odin spam the start button this time (this should flash the BL and have you sorted again)

This - you probably have the newer AQG5 bootloader, which TWRP doesn't support yet.
So follow the instructions above, flash back to the previous bootloader, the you'll be able to flash TWRP ok.

I had the same issue once before. What the fail device info. I think I fixed it by using the most recent update (I think). And messing around with csc files. All this was done half assed in desperation. Then went back to the unlocked firmware and stopped messing with it. Yes Smart switch didn't do crap. Use updato.com to obtain your firmwares

Just got home and tried this! and OMG dude this actually worked! thanks!!! damn im glad my phone works again! thanks thanks thanks!! cant say it enough!!
My guide to fix the issue
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/how-to/odin-flash-fail-fixed-solutions-t3650073
.... actually i think it was my fault.
I run a stock german t-mobile s7 wich was recently updated to OREO
I managed to install adhell 3 which worked fine as an adblocker. One nasty T-mobile app kept draining my battery so i decided to enable the app-disabler on the home screen of adhell3. Unfortunately this seemed to have disabled all apps , including all system apps. Now i am stuck in a bootloop.
Can anyone give me some guidance how to resurrect my phone?
I am in vacations right now.... and i would really appreciated having a working smartphone again...
Thank you in advance...
ok.... i can´t even factory reset it.....I can however go into odin mode...

Because you can't go into recovery mode when you stuck in a bootloop, following option should help: flash your stock recovery, TWRP recovery or any other recovery for your device you want via Odin. After Odin is done and after the screen goes off you have to imadiately press volume down, power and home button. Now you are in recovery mode and you can factory reset your device. If you don't have a PC near you, you have to wait until you battery is empty, charge it and then you can go into recovery mode and do a factory reset.
Thanks for the answer!
On my device i could somehow mange to enter the factory reset from the odin screen. But i have no clue what i actually did? Do i have to reinstall oreo now? If my google backup is older than the error i produced i guess it is save to reset the device from there no?

At first, I have to correct myself. I meant volume up, not volume down for recovery mode.
Factory reset from Odin screen? What do you mean? What did you do? And if you did a factory reset and can start and use your phone normally again, everything should be okay. I can't answer your last question because I have no idea.

You will have to wait until your battery discharge fully after that you can enter in recovery mode by pressing volume up, home button and power keys simultaneously. I have gone through this too.
I have 2 Galaxy J7 Crown (SM_S767VL). I used Odin to bypass FRP on one but when i flashed the 2nd i guess i used the wrong Combination File and now it is stuck in a bootloop at the phone model screen. ive tried every possible way to stop the loop. When i try to boot into download mode (Vol- + power + home) it boots into maintenance boot mode. Its like download mode doesnt exist on the phone. i cant boot into safe bc the bootloop. cant normal boot bc of bootloop. ive tried 300k and other programs to try and force download mode. but bc the loop is so soon in the startup my pc doesnt have time to recognize or connect to the phone before the phone restarts. I dont know what to do. Ive watched video after video read article after article. Please help. Any advice. Tips. Suggestions. or ideas are greatly appreciated.
