Hi im looking for any app with the design of constantly connected to the net (yes background agent that requires wifi or 3G connection all the time)
Im thinking of ways to keep wifi on even after lock screen (besides plugging in the charger) so that apps like whatsapp can function even in locked screen when only wifi is available.
Thanks!
Hi Guys,
I have been looking to trasnfer files over wireless without a router. As bluetooth is very slow. I have Canvas 2, Samsung Note 2 and a Micromax Funbook at my home.
And I would really like to share files between them over wireless without the router connected. two of them have ICS and Samsung one has Jellybean.
I believe this should be possible as all have wireless card and if I can provide static IP to them they should be able to trasnfer files. However, I am unable to find any application that can do it for me.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I decided to root my phone (galaxy S5) and downloaded the Wi-Fi tether router from the play store. I recently got a message saying " You've used 100% of the paid high speed data on your T-mobile plan. Your Smartphone Mobile Hotspot speed will now be limited to 128 kbps until 09/23/2015. Smartphone data will still be at full speeds. My laptop connects at full speed when using a vpn. Last month it also would work using a user agent and the console would be unaffected for some reason this month T-mobile has found a way to stop it. The console will obtain the IP address, internet connection is successful but the download speed says 128 kbps making everything unplayable. My APN and router settings are all correct and I don't know what to do. This is my only means of playing online or enjoying Netflix plz help me.
Hmmm
The ps store and friends list load slow but I can play games without lag for some reason
Same Problem here. The issue is you can use a user-agent switcher for the pc to hide tethering but not for the PS4. There is no way to hide it so Tmob ALWAYS knows you are tethering your PS4....ie data gone...
Hi all,
I have NBN Fibre 100mbps / 40mbps (300GB - 150 peak / 150 off-peak)
Modem/router is Audiocodes MP264
I have an HTC One M7 (rooted) and Galaxy Note Edge (no root)
I need to limit the speed of WIFI that is usable on the handsets as the kids waste the data watching Youtube in 1080p all the time. (so other apps too)
The modem is useless in setting QoS or Traffic Shapping, it cant be done.
Easy option is to change the WIFIs 802.11 to b or g and then the WIFI is only putting out to the devices about 7mbps-15mbps or there abouts rather than the much higher speeds n will provide.
Issues when using b or g is that the Samsung TV and the wifes iPhone will also be restricted.
Is there an application that will restrict WIFI download bandwidth directly on the devices either via a firewall or a WIFI manager app?
All I have been able to find is firewalls that allow or stop internet traffic, or WIFI managers that restrict uploads or tethering.
Can someone suggest any apps that can rate limit the WIFI on the device directly?
Or, is there a Youtube app that you can set the default playback resolution to something low (the official youtube app always goes 1080p via my WIFI)
Thank you
NVM - I have now found OGYouTube - this appears to be working fine, can limit both mobile and WIFI data by default - set to 360p (will use 240p if im feeling real harsh)
