N-920T & AT&T Data Issues

Is anyone using the T-Mobile Note 5 on AT&T? I am having data problems where I do not get data, but can send and receive texts, and also make calls. I switch to the Cingular APN and it works, but then goes out.
I have tried the Nxtgen phone apn and also phone apn, and no luck.
I know im not answering your question, but are you able to use the VOLTE feature on your tmobile phone on the at&t network? or even HD calling?
Actually At&t messed up my provisioning. You asked about those features, I would recommend you download Darthstalkers Rom Version 4, choose n9200A, it will install the at&t carrier files.
Just make sure to add the ATT Phone APN, do not use the nextgen phone apn.
Why do you suggest not using NextGen APN. I use it on all my phones and it's perfect your funny
I have been thinking of paying off my unrooted phone and switching to cricket. When I put my IME number to check compatibility it said it wasn't. So, I'm a bit confused. Is this phone compatible with ATT LTE or not. I thought that ATT and Cricket were the same?

No its not unloocked. But I will unlock it soon. Good to now that I can use it on ATT or cricket if I want. Really tired of Tmo.
Thanks.

Recently unlocked, will it stick?

Just unlocked my phone through the Tmobile app and now plan to root (hopefully I can I'm already on 10D and was gonna do the tot method but idk about all these problems with it, this is my daily but I miss xposed dearly). Any way I want to know will the unlock stick through a factory reset and rooting? Also when I unlocked I got this weird message.....
Update: Well I'm rooted and ran the app again and still shows the message. Tried a few extra sim cars I had lying around for att and Verizon...... BOTH were able to pick able to pick up a signal and read the phone numbers from those cards but of course weren't able to make calls. Are the G5's like the S7's when it comes to unlocking? The S7's support all carriers hardware wise once unlocked not just GSM ones, is this the same? Unfortunately I don't have an active Verizon sim to test with.
Yes I have had the lg v10 on T-Mobile and had it permanently unlocked and since then have flashed wiped and tried new Roms with no revert to being sim locked and I had it done on my lg g5 and since then flashed fluences ROM and wiped a few times and my phone still works when I put my [email protected] work sim in it to make calls and text

Flashing a carrier rom from stock

Hi,
I'm currently on the latest stock ROM (SM-920F - MMB29k.G920FXXU5DQA7)
I'm in the UK and am looking at moving from Tesco Mobile to Three as I don't get any signal in my house and want to use WiFi calling.
The only way to get native wifi calling is to have bought the phone from the carrier (ie to have their ROMinstalled) so I'm thinking of flashing my phone with the three ROM, the problem is I don't want to lock my phone so that it will only accept a three sim.
Can anyone confirm where how the sim lock is activated? Is it done in the ROM or do they do something over ADB to lock the sim?
Bump
Don't think it would lock your device because I thought of doing the opposite years back. I thought if I flashed an unlocked rom my phone would be unlocked, it wasn't. So an educated guess would say you will be fine. But then again I'm not 100%. Try it, you could always flash back.

G930P Unlocked on TMO USA -- any downside?

Looking at getting wife G930P Unlocked from eBay
She's on TMO and not likely to change.
Any problems with doing this?
Any issues with Wifi Call or VoLTE?
Missing any coverage, bands, etc that are valuable?
thx!
No help?
I just got a G930F....the international unlocked version. Works great on TMo. If you want VoLTE, you can root it, flash a custom rom....set the csc.....and enjoy.
Get the F model instead of the T model. You won't be locked to TMo.
Some basic apps do not work

I have done this without doing any mods to the G930P. I cannot read group text messages or texts with pics (MMS). Calling is extremely slow and often the phone does not complete the call. WiFi calling is not possible with the phone. There are probably other features that are deprecated or not working, but I am about to go buy a Tmobile phone so that my friends will stop annoying me about all the group text messages I am missing.

Flashed G930T firmware onto G930V - phone locked?

I have a G930V and recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile. I flashed the phone firmware to G930T so WiFi calling, VoLTE, and visual voicemail would work. After doing that, it seems the phone is now locked to the T-Mobile network - even though it was never locked on Verizon.
I wanted to de-bloat the phone and try G930U - but can I do that if the phone is locked now? Do I need to somehow unlock the phone first? Or is it only locked to the T-Mobile sim?
Also - If I switch to G930U, what will I lose other than bloatware? Just OTA updates? Do I have to do anything special to enable Advanced Messaging, Visual Voicemail, WiFi Calling, and VoLTE?

Are you "network-locked"? or have a different sort of issue? I have a ex-VZW S7; however, due to the previous owner, I was "network-locked" - and thus could NOT take the phone back to VZW (the phone's original network). I am a Tracfone customer; therefore, I COULD take the phone to T-Mobile (Tracfone uses both networks). My misgivings were, in fact, entirely due to previous experiences using T-Mobile's network (with Tracfone, Safelink Wireless, and Virgin Mobile USA. After porting the IMEI, I prayed and did the firmware change (both were flawless. Rather amusingly, my service has ALSO been flawless - better than it has previously been as a T-Mobile-MVNO customer - unexpected, to say the least. I went from swearing AT Trafcone (and T-Mobile) to swearing by them (and eating a heaping helping of CROW in the process) - when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I've had VoLTE (and VoWiFi as well) since I've been on the Pink side of things - if you want updates, you want T-Mobile firmware, though. (I'm running Project L V.4 and knew going in I'd lose OTAs - if you'rer comfortable with that, that may be an option for you. If you're nervous, grab the latest T-Mobile ODIN TAR (it has its own thread) and flash that - the firmware is un-fooled-around with. Extract and flash with ODIN as normal.
Verizon S7 phones are not locked, period. There are instructions on how to put Tmobile rom on the phone. We have done 2 and both were easy and worked flawlessly. Wifi Calling and LTE

I know it is not locked as a Verizon phone. I am an talking about going BACK to 930V after flashing 930T. It appears to be network locked now...
I had the same issue. After changing the phone from a sm-930v to a sm-930t I placed a verizon sim in the phone and the carrier told me the device was network locked to T-Mobile. I used the T-Mobile unlock app and requested a carrier unlock. The message said, "phone permenantly unlocked." I am using a ATT sim card with Tracfone with no problems. By default Verizon phones are unlocked after 90 days if there are no pending contract issues. I think the T-Mobile carrier lock may depend upon the firmware you flash. You may want to wipe the data and try a different version.
