Question Random Audio stops in File Manager - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

As the title suggests, I randomly get songs stopping a few seconds from the end when I play them in my file manager (Solid Explorer).
The issue does not occur in dedicated music apps.
I've set Solid to unrestricted battery, but it doesn't show in the list of sleeping apps and I can't exclude it either because it isn't in the list.
Out of curiously I tried it in another file explorer and I get the same issue, so it seems to be the phone rather than the app.
Also the issue happens randomly. I play a track and it can play fine the first time, or many times, but then it will randomly cut off the last second and from then on it won't play again.
Anyone have any idea what would cause this?

Darn, that signature is dark (it's my mother-in-law, I cherish her most ). We all know MiXplorer is the way to go though.. right? Or was that the other file explorer you tried?
Spoiler: Oh and I'll just leave this here for no apparent reason ^_^

No I used fx explorer (I know that's old but it still has the same problem)
I'll get a logcat when I get home
EDIT: Tried MiXplorer. Same issue.

For good measure I have tested this, albeit on another device (you never know when all file explorers suddenly fail on us) and it plays smoothly to the end as expected. That is of course not normal behaviour. Just to clarify, when you say "stopping a few seconds from the end", you mean the slider stops moving entirely or the audio mutes? Also unclear: is the screen still on when this happens? And would it be a specific amount of seconds?

When I say it stops, I mean the a few seconds before the end of a track the slider will stop, and the audio will cut off. Hitting the play/pause button will cause the track to be replayed from the beginning. This does not occur in dedicated music apps (I.e the track will cut out in the file manager bit play to the end in VLC or Poweramp)
The exact cut time I can't say but it seems to be the same time roughly cut off every time.
Hope that helps

Anyone have a Nexus S that's still restarting on it's own?

After the 2.3.2 update, I thought everything was fine. Guess not.
Phone restarted in the middle of a phone call. What the dilly yo
I manually updated to 2.3.2, but never did faced your problem.
I heard some did but before 2.3.2, as I think it shouldve been resolved by it.
Backup and softreset and see, recovery or so.
Happened to me yesterday. Oddly enough, this was the first time it happened, and was AFTER I installed the 2.3.2 update.
This is discussed in other threads already...
The 2.3.2 update does not address the random reboots, or the reboots during calls. Google is still working on a fix for that specific problem.
The problem seems to be really random overall...some people have it frequently, others not all, some rarely. I've only had it twice, and both times only while on 2.3.1.
If you search the forum here, you'll find a thread or two with links to the Google Help Forum topic where romainguy from Google talks about the problem.
EDIT: Apparently they've found the fix, according to this post: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=1b777a366748b64f&start=194
Expect an OTA in a couple of weeks.
i had it only twice
but that was because i was overloading the poor thing, with trying to do too many things simultaneously
and when it can't cope with how fast i click around stuff, and how many apps i launch and use all at the same time, it just reboots
it's not hard to reproduce
just go like a maniac and start launching apps left and right, and pull up info, make a call, send SMS, browse the web, download stuff, etc, etc
and it'll reboot as soon as it hangs
it's like a SUPER Force Close

LOL!
I'm pretty sure my two reboots weren't under such extreme circumstances...phone just sitting idle for a while, got a phone call, call reboots 5-15 minutes into the middle of the call.
Even so, your experience makes me wonder if just tweaking the memory management on the phone with something like AutoKiller app might help those who are having the issue more often than others. (Note that autokiller is NOT a task killer, it's poorly named. It's a way to tweak the minfree settings on the phone and let the Android built-in system still handle what's killed or not.)

ok... if that's the case, no, i've yet to see the phone reboot on its own
i've had some 30ish min calls and no reboot
P.S. this issue is covered in another topic tagged as [BUG] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=880497
please continue on the original topic, thx

Phone running out of memory.

I'm sorry if I'll sound retarded but I just don't know much about this platform yet, so you may enlighten me on this one. A few minutes ago I was trying to save a favorite in the browser, but the phone didn't let me: an error message popped up telling me I was out of memory. What's that? I've got plenty of memory, is that a bug? I updated the firmware to the latest version just the other day, maybe this is what is causing the issue? I knew about a bug not allowing you to edit one, but this looks different. I also tried to delete the others but it didn't help. Thanks in advance.
update: apparently I can add favourites from any other site, but not from the specific one I was browsing. Now that is weird...

This cannot be Windows Phone! It's memory management surpasses thousands of other toys out there!
BTW, try this - look up your background tasks, see if manually turning one or two off gives you more room to favourite that particular page?
What happens after a restart? May be clearing all the temp files might be the case? I have only restarted/switched off my Titan 5 times max in last 3 months! 3 times was for updates and 2 times was because I wanted to drain battery to 0. Now that worries me because I am so used to restarting my old green man phones to keep temp and cache clear. - non-tech speculation this is.
Wooa, I found an answer by myself in the end...get ready because this one is pretty dumb: apparently the name given by default to the favourite was way too long, once I shortened it I could add it just fine. So I guess I found a new (very minor) bug: if the name is too long the phone displays an error message saying the phone memory is full, pretty weird heh...
Here's a link to the site I was trying to add, maybe you can reproduce the issue even on your Titan, let me know, I'm pretty curious

Actually, this is a well known bug that affect favorites.

Yeah, but it's not literally a memory issue, it simply displays the wrong error message.

Abnormal battery usage - Smart Manager Galaxy S6

Hello,
Let me start to point out that I know that Smart Manager is not such a useful tool on most cases, but heck I like it and from time to time I click the "clean all" button on the widget it comes with just to have somehow "clean" system.
Now one thing that bugs me is that for some reason after I clean the system I get a message like the screenshot below stating that some app is eating away my batter faster then it should. Well in my case is PowerAmp with ~2% battery in half an hour. NowI would say it's fine, but heck Smart Manager keeps bugging me with this all day even if I used PowerAmp for half an hour while traveling to work in the morning.
Ok so what I want to ask, is how the heck I get rid of this message without uninstalling the app as Smart Manager recommends (heck won't do that, rather live with it).

I had the same issue with the speedtest app. It went away after deleting it and reinstalling it again. Hope it works :good:
Iam not using widget, so i got this message when i opened Smart Manager. In my case it was Endomondo (while running with gps ON).
So when i opened Smart Manager i had a similar pop-up as you, BUT with app name and (if i remember right) 3 options: force close; ignore; uninstall;.
So i just picked ''Ignore'' and it haven't bothered me ever since.
Not sure if my comment can help you in any way tho.

who is spying after me?

Hi.
I assume that someone spies against me. look at these 3 reasons:
1. my notification list contains a transparenr/black icon. see image (i marked the "hole" yellow frame):

how can i know which app activates it? the active apps list seems pretty ok.
2. after i turn on my device (samsung galaxy s2) and wait for about a minute or so, i turn on the screen, want to draw my pattern but it screen tells me that i should wait 30 seconds, means that someone or somewhat has previousely tried to guess the pattern and failed to do so for 5 times. it happens every time i turn on the device.
3. my waze app sometimes loads by itself, even while i'm not touching the device.
what do you guys think?
Thanks!

well first of your image link is broken anyways i am assuming your phone is rooted if it were you could try installing greenify to see which apps are running in background also if you think you have a R.A.T on your phone (p.s a R.a.t stands for remote administration tool and is a type of spyware) if i were you i would try installing a free anti-virus like avast run that see what happens if that doesn't show up as anything and you are still feeling like you are being watch maybe flash to a nandroid backup?
thanks

Confused by notification sounds under vibration mode

Hi, my Pixel 3a is making a sound whenever there is a notification, although I have set the phone to vibrate (even in the do-not-disturb mode!). I have used Android phones for the past eight years, so I think I am pretty familiar with all the little things with Android, but I am just confused to hell about what is going on. I checked a few settings, and they look okay to me (which means that it would behave "normally" on my old phone). I have media volume set to non zero, but that should not matter as I understand.
I think if I turn off app notification sound in individual app's notification settings it should work, but obviously it is a daunting task that I do not want to bother.
I wonder if you can offer some advice. Thank you.

Yeah this confuses me as well. The only way i found was to tap the notifcation symbol again so it turns to the bell with the line through it. But then theres no vibrate either

I still have the notification sounds under the mute mode (and was again waken by a sound at 5am this morning). I suspected this may have something to do with Google Assistant, and while I am not 100% sure about it, I tried something and it worked for me: I turned off "notification access" (Apps & notifications > special app access, or via search) of "Google" and some other apps, tried to trigger notifications, and the phone vibrated/stayed silent as expected. I turned them back on, and everything still works fine. Hope they do not com back.
You may want to give that a try.
EDIT: DO NOT turn the access back on -- it may fail after you reconnect to your Bluetooth headset.

There is a thread for it now:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe..._bug/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Since these notification channels were implemented, the whole way of the notifications being served got upside down and confusing. R&D forgot at 7.0 already that android is a phone os, some people don't have time to granularly tune each and every app and set the sound and vibrate and other bs.
Same here, Facebook's notifications can come with a weird sound even if I cut off any sound...
