Hi! I copied all my data from my Redmi 6A with broken display using ADB. I also changed the screen lock from pattern to pin using SCRCPY. But now whenever I enter the correct pin, it says that the pin is wrong. I have not forgotten the pin as I used the same one for all my devices. Could this be caused by some broken piece of hardware? Although I have copied all my data, but still I don't want to reset it. I can try all the possible 9999 combinations by running some script. Can it unlock it without damaging my device? It runs on Android 8 with MIUI 11.5. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi! I tried it but it says wrong password. Actually, I was a bit the night I changed the password and there may be a chance that I put something that I don't remember now. Is there any chance that a fall might have corrupted some part of the hardware? And if there is not, can I try brute forcing all possible combinations without damaging my data? I just don't want to lose some data that I cannot pull via ADB.

Sorry for this n00bie question, but is there any way how to temporarily disable the Recovery?
Cause anyone can access the recovery from boot and can reset your phone and everything..
So in case that your phone was stolen, they can just reset your phone (if they knew) when they don't know your lock screen password or whatever...

There were some attemps for pin protecting the recovery BUT there is NO way at all as on nearly every phone you can easily replace the recovery using a computer. IF you wan't to secure your phone, please use the android encryption.

Hi All
I am using one plus one with cm 13. I forgot the pattern to unlock. Is there any way to unlock the pattern and login to the phone.
I tried to copy the data but I am not able to copy since the screen is locked.
I have tried to lock using Android Device Manager but that is also asking for pattern to enter the password.
Since I have not enabled the developer mode .. I am not able to use adb commands also ...
I am able to use the fastboot mode, but from that mode, I am not getting any option to unlock ..
Can you pls help to unlock the phone or copy the data before doing factory reset..
Thanks
Forgot my pattern, Android Device Manager is of no use. I guess I've disabled android USB debugging. Can't access my settings now. Bootloader is locked. Is there any way to unlock my phone without losing data?

No, not unless you suddenly remember your pattern.
Odd that ADM is of no use unless you forgot your Google credentials... That would be a lot more serious, because if you factory reset to get around the pattern lock, you will be faced with Factory Reset Protection, which if you were current, has no working bypass on this device.
I was looking for something:

Hi guys,
Just trying to figure out if it's possible.
How can I access Galaxy S6 files (to move from phone to pc)?
With the following problems, the charging port is broken and the password to unlock the phone (after restart) is gone.
Is there a way still to get to those files, before the phone is dumped?
is it encrypted? do you have a sd card?
is it rooted?
twrp?
you say you don't have the password or it does not have a password and you can boot it?

It is not rooted. + charging port is broken (only wireless charging works)
this phone don't have SD card.
phone is up and running I just can't go through where it asks for the PIN to unlock screen.

If you can't unlock the screen and the USB port is broken, you are pretty much screwed. If you could get the screen unlocked, there are several ways you can retrieve your data, but if you can't unlock the screen, there really isn't anything you can do.

You cannot access your data due to the fact that the display does not work.
Without unlocking the data you wont be able to get them back.
Greetings. My Nextbit Robin one day powered off. I had developer mode on before. Now whenever I try and boot the phont it simply goes through the animation and right when it should boot me into android os, it crashes back to a black screen. I cannot flash or fastboot or sideload anything as I do not have adb nor oem unlocked since the device itself is locked and cannot be unlocked without typing in the password in android OS. My goal is only to save the files stored in the phone not the phone itself. Any and all help would be appreciated.
IMO as long as phone isn't accessible via ADB ( and phone's Android got rooted ) there's no chance to fetch user-data stored on phone.

Thanks for the reply, do you know if its possible to extract the data using hardware, like phyiscally solder out the memory?
