Is there suitable rom ? - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

I like stock but I want better control. No volume limit, if I hide notification, it should stay away. Adblocking would be nice. Updating easy. Is there suitable custom ROM

Ringtone/Notification volume separator?

A feature of CM I always like was the ability to control ringtone and notification volumes independently. This is not possible with the N5/4.4.
There are some apps our there that claim to give you power over volumes, but I feel like these apps don't achieve my goal if the ability to separate the two isn't a stock function.
Does anyone know of a way to make this work or a framework that would allow for this?
Many thanks.
there is an xposed module (Ringer & Notification Volume Unlink) that does this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2416768
but xposed framework does not support android 4.4 yet, so u have to wait..

best app i've seen so far for this is ultimate sound control (pro and lite versions available): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.steinapps.ultimatesoundcontrol
it does require root, and has some pretty powerful functions. it was also featured in the portal a few weeks ago: http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...und-control-for-your-device-xda-developer-tv/
check it out when you get a chance.
I've been trying out Sound Profile which lets you separate volume but a whole lot more. It's a full sound/toggle profile app and appears to be working very well so far. What's really cool is that you can change sounds per profile, as well as toggles like BT, WiFi, GPS, etc.
It looks like Volume Butler as also suggested is extremely similar. I will give that one a whirl too.
It doesn't let you modify all of the system level type sounds like Ultimate Sound Control (if that's something you desire).
looks like xposed is finally 4.4, trying to figure out how to do this with xposed.
If you use xposed I know Gravitybox has this incorporated.

two thumbs up for Volume Butler
as a former galaxy family user (S2, S3 and S4) the first thing I've missed on LG Nexus5 was a manner to control the volume independently (ringtone, notifications, media). After a quick search on google I got in this thread.
My handset just arrived about three days ago and to be extremely honest I'm wondering if should I root it right now or in the near future. While I did not come to a decision I've decide to give Volume Butler a try.
Just install a free version from Play Store and it works exactly how it promises, it is possible to control ringer, notification, media, alarm, in-call and speakerphone as individual items and you can create profiles based on a schedule to manage this items. I did't play with this app enough (got no time), but it's seems to be a great try for anyone who looks for this functionality.
Thanks for share!

yep, xposd+GB give rooted stock rom wings
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
If you want to run ART (which xposed obviously doesn't support), I know Cataclysm ROM has a toggle to separate the ringer/notification volume settings.
I agree, Cataclysm ROM has that feature to seperate, based on stock with many added features, and still can run ART versus Xposed. Depends on what you want to do with features or if you'd like AOSP.
[NO root required] Profiles Plus app is working fine. It is free and works with lollipop. It is working like a charm for my Xperia Z2 and Nexus 5 to successfully separate the ringer and notification volumes.

[Completed] how can i customize stock navigation bar? to add custom buttons or shorcuts,im rooted

Firstly i hope i didn't start a new thread in the wrong forum.
So I have used many modules on xposed but none seem to get the job done, how can i customize stock navigation bar? i can get a menu and search button but they only work if an app provides the search and menu functionalities, by which point the app has already provided us with its own buttons to do just that... i want to add 4,5 buttons with custom actions, i tried a few apps like ultimate dynamic navbar but then i lose the navigation ring from gravitybox and it is indispensable to me, so i want a way to do it on STOCK navigation bar or if its an app, it should support the stock navigation ring when u long press the home button in the center.
and an off topic question if you don't mind, i recently installed a sound mod on my Z2 and apparently it was for an older firmware, i lost all sound in headphones, so now which files should i flash from my stock ROM ftf to get the sound back, is it the system files? kernel? without data wipe of course.

For the first part, Using multiple modules that modify your nav/status bar is not recommended.
So i would suggest you to look out in the xposed modules section for the module that satisfies your need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/index-xposed-modules-collection-post-t2327541
For the second part, it would be better to ask it in the Z2 forum which you can find here.

[Q] Need help of dev for expandable volume panel

Hi all,
Does someone know how mod the volume panel so it can be expanded? I want to make a custom ROM with a stock kk rom as base.
I know about the noyze app and I was going to use it at first and I included it in the settings instead of showing in the app drawer. But after using it a while I discovered some issues. The users have to activate noyze in accessability and when adjusting volume in stock video player noyze doesn't work and it's the stock music player instead.
The tweak in gravitybox xposed module is exactly what I want but xposed seems to make the phone a bit laggy and having to work with exposed modules is also not realy professional in a custom rom...
So can anyone help me with this? I attached a photo of what I want.
Thanks

How to have display temperature control??

Hey, guys. Is there any other ROM BESIDES PARANOID ANDROID that can give me the ability to control the display temperature? In Paranoid Android 5.1.1 (build 23rd of Aug) you get a slider in the Display settings that lets you control how the display looks. I really like this feature and it's the only thing holding me back from flashing a stock Motorola ROM. I REALLY DON'T want to install any blue light filter apps, like Twilight. They slown down the device. I use this feature to help me sleep better but I hate using 3rd party apps.
Alternatively, is there any way I can flash that feature into a stock Motorola ROM or any other ROM? Paranoid is giving me trouble and has no support anymore. Thanks in advance guys.
Even CM12 has LiveDisplay. If you do not want to flash anything over stock just install kernel aduitor and go to screen (This works provided you have a KCAL kernel). Here is a kernel for stock XT1032

Default Android notification for Redmi note 4

Hi Friends,
I have redmi note 4 with developer official miui 9 Rom.
The notifications are really terrible.
No content or option is available on lock screen, like we receive in other android mobiles, for example delete and unnecessary email right from lock screen. Also the notifications at notification panel are also badly optimized, again no option for gmail.
Is there any way that I can get default notification on this mobile, with options.
Thanks....
NvN
The main reason i switched to custom rom is this .. The notifications are really very bad and so cramped up..!! After coming from an OPO on Linage OS .. I just couldnt stand the customization's of MIUI. I think the only option is to switch to a custom rom.
Pretty sure we can't do anything for that.
Switch to custom rom.

The one i am using right now is Aosp extended rom.. Its really very stable IMO. Haven't found any bugs yet.. Its almost stock android with options to customize. So you can leave it vanilla or if you choose you can go for customization!
Do note that you will need and unlocked bootloader and twrp to flash a custom rom!
Let me know if you need any more details.
