If you're on OOS 11 then you can use TWRP.
You cannot use TWRP on OOS 12.

I'm on android 11 but hardware version says 13
Is there any reason to use the boot.img over just twrp flashing magisk? Seems a little complicated to me and also there's no boot.ing for the kb2007
If TWRP wasn't available, then patching boot and then flashing is the only way to root.
What do you mean by "hardware version is 13"? Screenshot?
Yeah I'm on 11 nvm.
Do u know where I can find patched boot.img for the tmobile kb2007 model if twrp don't work?
And if it does I can just flash the magisk zip and be rooted

No ideas about finding a patched boot image.
In TWRP you can just flash the Magisk APK.

Let's you unlock bootloader like a normal OnePlus 8t after it's converted.

Hi, Im new in this forum, just got my OP 7 Pro. I've been away from anything root related for a long time, since my previous devices couldnt be rooted.
I remember using magisk when it was a new thing, and everyone was using greenify to extend battery life.
I just updated to Android 10 Beta, can I root my device?
If it is possible, what do I lose if I root besides widevine?
The only thing I'm really looking forward is gcam port and the use of aux cams, since a lot of things have to be updated to Android 10, I don't think there's a lot to do right now besides that.
I think you have to come back to the android p stable, root, install the twrp and after you will able to update with the root. Now im on the beta with root and twrp throw a dirty installing

Hi! Thanks. If you don't mind, can you give point me to a guide or something to downgrade? I'm a total noob with everything OnePlus related.
You don't have to downgrade to Pie.
Do it like this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-android-10-twrp-t3964131
You just need stock boot.img:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...isk-patched-boot-image-oneplus-7-pro-t3964345
There's also another way which avoids to downgrade.
Flash the magisk patched img you'll find in this forum.
After following instructions from there, you'll be rooted but without TWRP.
If you need that also... flash the TWRP installer zip as a magisk module, reinstall magisk (direct install), reboot and you're done.

Wow, thanks!! that seems stupidly easy, even for me. Two questions:
Do I need a PC to do the extraction?
Will this wipe any data?
And as for my initial question, is there anything besides widevine lost when rooting?

You can download Magisk patched boot.img from second link above.
Flashing boot.img will not wipe any data.
If I remember right, Widevine will get L3 with unlocked bootloader.

Awesome!! Thank you very much, thought I had to unlock the bootloader by myself using a PC.
Edit: I'm so dumb, just realized I still have to flash the boot.img using fastboot
I have a question, in order to root and flash twrp coming with android 10 (no root) I must unlock the bootloader, right?

Yes bootloader must be unlocked to flash TWRP or Root the device also when you unlock the bootloader it will factory reset the device so make sure you backup any personal data you need before unlocking.
Thank you

Here's what I did after rooting and unrooting twice from 10.0.2 and open_beta_6 i uninstalled magisk modules first before flashing magisk uninstaller zip from twrp recovery then I used the op7pro downgrade package zip then flashed it through twrp as well and rebooted I was back on pie 9.5.3. that's how I done it twice without problems.

You can download Android 10 manually or you can use the oxygen updater app from the Android market to download the latest stable or beta Android 10. I've rooted and unlocked/relocked my bootloader several times without any problems.
Hi guys,
I think i bricked my oneplus 7 pro. Installed twrp then tried to change to stock boot image. there is no service center here in my region. how can i flash back the stock rom using fastboot.
If your BL is unlocked you can use the fastboot ROM. Or just boot TWRP and Flash the stock rom zip.
Provide more info so we can help

There's ways to pull the boot.img using adb/fastboot commands once your bootloader is unlocked. Then all you have to do is patch it using Magisk and flash it in fastboot.

My bootloader has been unlocked! But I don't know how to extract it to boot.img
You don't specifically need the T-Mobile boot.img to root your phone. Get the boot.img from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-oneplus-9.4253651/page-4#post-84874313
Install the Magisk App on your phone
Reboot into fastboot
fastboot boot boot11244AAmagisk.img
Once your phone boots, open the Magisk app
Ignore any message about it needing to setup
Install Magisk with a direct install
Reboot and now your phone should be rooted
I've tested this on my one T-Mobile OnePlus 9 and it works perfectly, even passing SafetyNet

I am curious, when we get an incremental update from T-mobile, we will be able to apply the update if we pass Safety net or it's not related?

No, T-mobile doesn't allow update if bootloader unlocked. has nothing to do with safetynet. If you look in system after unlocking your bootloader and rebooting you will see system update no longer avail.

Flash the ota and then boot to fastboot. And flash this boot image.
fastboot flash boot boot-v9-root24.img
Also can do it in recovery or partition manager off play store. Here's a copy of the app to.
The img works on OS 11s and 12s. I dual boot so it's a orangefox twrp with a magisk 24.x. and probably not the original kernel because OS 12 and some rom11s don't work well with stock kernels. Anyways hope this helps
