OnePlus 8T Backup - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

Hi,
it looks like Oneplus does not offer a 1 click pc suite for backup. Samsung has Switch, Huawei has the HuiSuite.
Is there an open source 1-click alternative for OnePlus? (No, I do not want to use any cloud service)
Nope, I do not want to do any manual tasks or a local backup.
Thanks,

I mentioned that I would like to do that via PC. not via phone. I want to do a backup without having a new phone.

What's the difference from doing it on your phone? Even if they had a desktop application you would still need to have your phone plugged in no? As far as I know, they don't have a desktop application.

No sure why I even have to answer this: I give you one reason, they are way more of course. If you make a backup of your phone on your PC and you loose your phone, you can just buy a new one and restore your data.
If you do a backup on your phone and loose your phone, guess what you end up with?

Are you serious? that is exactly the reason why I asked for that?

You literally just transfer the backup from your phone to your PC using a USB cable.. And when you get a new phone just transfer it to your new phone.
You're suggesting that the desktop application (Samsung switch for example) can magically backup your phone without using the phone itself?
Also, I answered your question and you get mad at me for answering? Was I supposed to create the backup tool out of thin air?
Don't worry, I was very serious.

@azoller1 This will be my last comment on your post(s). My question was very easy and accurate, but you clearly are unable to answer it properly. For the future: If you do not know the answer to a question, please let someone answer who is can answer it. Thanks.

It was already explained for you earlier, that OnePlus doesn't have desktop app for this.
Though it has OnePlus Switch now called Clone Phone for backup and transfer (restore) your data to another device or to the same device after factory reset.

no. you need the computer for two things.. to unlock the bootloader, and to flash a custom recovery.
A PC with no AntiVirus would also be preferable. Or a PC with an AntiVirus that can be disabled temporarily. IE: not at school or at a library or work.

I was just saying that, If the OP decides to find a PC, to make sure to find a PC that either has, no AntiVirus software installed, or a PC with AntiVirus that can be disabled. Often, school, work, and library PC's wont allow you to disable to AntiVirus. AV software can interfere with rooting tools, especially tool kits.
Just my experience.

thing is, its much faster without any toolkits. plus the op wont learn anything at all if he uses a root toolkit. so when he needs some basic stuff done to the phone, he wont know how. and many times when people that dont really know much but use root toolkits, they get stuck at basic maintenance, and many times they think they bricked their phones.

Smartphone without the "phone" part?

I almost never use my phone to communicate, and I have lately accepted and embraced my creeping paranoia. So, I'm looking for a device that does what my phone does, but without the phone, GPS, or microphone.
Does such a device exist? Is it possible to physically modify a smartphone to the same effect?

That means someone else can enable it via software too. I'm thinking more along the lines of physically disabling those components.

You can take out from the system these stuff and then unroot your phone. So no app can still install something to the system.

I suppose you're right. I've just never seen a question quite like this. I'd follow the previous instructions of rooting and disabling.

I'm kind of fixated on this idea of doing it at the hardware level at this point - I doubt it works that way but maybe get in there with a solder gun and pull some stuff out
Removing certain physical components would be a bad idea. If the device even turns on properly, you'll likely get crashes and FCs and whatnot. Even freezing/disabling certain functions like the phone can cause problems, since the ROM expects them to work. For example, being a phone, it has to be able to make emergency calls even without a SIM or service set up.
You could, however, use a ROM that lets you deny permissions to certain things (like calls, microphone, GPS). CyanogenMod, for example, or any of the number of ROMs that incorporate this CM feature. You'll have to disable them on a per-app basis, and you should always do a back-up first just in case things go awry.

Applications data backup..

Hi everyone, i am using honor 6x from last 4 months, its a really nice budget device ever, but now i want to back to my ever love brand "LG"..
But at this point I am thinking deeply about an issue regarding change the brand,
As we all know we can backup our apps data in our device or in Hi suit on computer and can restore after changing on a new Huawei device from our old Huawei phone or by Hisuit from computer, but i m gonna change the brand now, as i think it can't be restore on other Brand's device, i have some important app data which I don't want to loose at any cost because its about hard working achievements behind on it and in case of changing brand i will loose all these things,
Have Anyone a way out to backup app data on computer using some software and restore on any Android device???
Kindly help me as i am so confused to change my brand just because of this issue, thanks in advance.. :good:

You can root your phone and use Titanium Backup. Or if it's a game you're talking about, just connect your game to Google Play Games to save data.

Thank u so much for your kind reply and suggestions, at least anyone replied here and trying to resolving my issue after 3 days waiting
My friend its about "Subway surfers"
I achived more then 12 million coins, 400 keys and 750 Hoverboards etc.. but unfortunately its not server based game which can connect with Google play games so only way out to save my all data is to backup and restore which can easily i manage if i get new Huawei device, but i am going to change my brand now
Rooting will be cause of warranty cancellation of my phone, and selling value will decrease without warranty also
Anyway thanks again for ur effort..

Oh. So maybe you can try this app. You can use it to backup and sync your apps across devices even without root. I haven't tried it yet though so I can't confirm.

Factory reset iphone still has MDM remote mgmt

I bought the iphone 12;from my ex employer. The phone is factory reset but the remote agent still comes up on setup. I called my previous employer And they were no help. I know theirs a way to remove the remote management with the Anyunlock program or other ones but once thats completed will the phone still show in the companies mobile client. Ur probably out of luck then sorry unless u pay Dr.fone
Ya i think the only way is to buy dr fone or iacticate. Will those completely wipe the mdm profile amd evwrything so itll be just like a normal new phone?
The MDM is not easy to remove only if you can ask the device supervisor to remove it.
Most tools can bypass it, but when you restart it, it will appear again.
So the best way is when you remove it, you'd better not reboot your phone.
So i logged into the phone amd wemt to device mgmt amd removed the profile. It didnt have a passcode or amything on it....so is the mdm full off this phone now?
You can try it. But it will remove the MDM profile from iPhone.

Galaxy S6 - Can't do anything at all

I recently got myself a free Galaxy S6 in topaz blue 32GB version. It was missing a battery so I put one in and it surprisingly seemed to work, well until some stuff started showing on the screen.
Unfortunately, the phone seems it can't mount any partitions whatsoever. Upon booting I get various messages about not being to able open or mount partitions, which unfortunately means I can't access the recovery menu. Have tried installing many different original softwares from various carriers but nothing seems to work. One thing which I did get working is TWRP, I managed to install it via odin, but now all the different storages show up as 0MB, tried various tips from youtube but none seem to work. I can push files to it via ADB but none can install due to no partitions being able to be mounted. I can't even wipe any partitions via odin. I'm starting to suspect the device probably had the storage encrypted somehow.
I've given up all hopes now , can someone please help me? Is there even any help for my device?
First off you should never have even rooted this device. When u root a device it voids all warranty. Second have you tried buying a different battery.

To my knowledge, the device wasn't rooted as stated by the previous owner when I went to pick it up, and right now it is using a 1 year old battery so I don't think that's an issue.
Do you have a way to live stream the phone so I can walk you through a couple things.

Okay so I made an account and have set it up on my phone aswell, but I think my internet connection is either too slow or not stable enough because the stream keeps ending on me and freezing. I don't know how we could do this but would youtube do? Sorry I'm not good with these streaming things as I've never done it before lol
