HMDI connected Android TV Box

Hi folks,
I´m not quit sure if it is an Android problem or a problem with my box.
When I switch off the TV when the box is connected via HMDI the box goes "off" (switching off sound for example) is there a way or setting to keep it on? So I can switch off TV and keep spotify for example on?
Yes!

Yes! I use my Chromecast in this way. What you need is an HDMI pass through device, like a stereo tuner. I have both a Chromecast and Roku dongle plugged into the HDMI ports on my tuner (it has a total of 4 hdmi ports) . A single HDMI cable then runs from the tuner to the TV. The sound comes out of my stereo speakers, not the tv, and I use the stereo's remote control to switch inputs (the TV itself is never changed from its HDMI1 input). This allows me to listen to the audio without having the TV turned on. Tuners with HDMI pass through can be expensive, but I got lucky and found one, virtually brand new with 4 HDMI inputs, at my local Good Will for $65. And if you're into cord cutting, check out my website at cablegobyebye.com

I found a solution which might work. You need to "block" pin 19 from HDMI which reports powersaving / energy modes. I just need to try it at home

Did you ever get this to work?

[Q] MHL-HDMI TV(without MHL) No output

First to say, this is a bit long, but explains exactly what is my problem and what am I doing, I really need help, please. Thank you,
Today I bought hdmi (Male-Male) cable and MHL 5-pin adapter for my Xperia Z1 Compact. And I have a really weird problem. So I set up everything the way it's supposed to be, connect hdmi cable to TV and mhl adapter, charging cable to adapter and then connect adapter to phone, also I set correct hdmi channel on TV. And, I get notification about MHL connected, but there's no any picture or sound on TV. Also, phone randomly stops charging, however mhl notification still stays and screen stays landscape, until I switch to another program on TV or unplug cable. Another weird thing, if I play any format of video in any player(even stock one), video stops every 4 sec and I have to manually press play every time(it's not performance issue though, I can play unoptimized games for qualcomm like GTA SA with same amount of framerate as if I played normally) and sound from video can sometimes go out through phone speaker(and it's not supposed to, instead should come as hdmi output on TV). And here some of the facts:
-My charger and cable normally works
-Without charger connected to mhl adapter, I dont get any notification, so charging part is fine
-If I unplug hdmi cable from mhl adapter, I dont get random charging interrupts, phone charges constantly
-I have stock 4.4 Kitkat Android, no system applications deleted
-My tv is from 2005, Panasonic, without mhl but has 2 Hdmi slots- 720p, in case TV means anything
I have 3 guesses that came to my mind: software issue(like bug or something), unsupported resolution(maybe if phone doesn't recognize TV's 720p and instead sets to full HD(but then there wouldn't be charging issue and probably video pausing issue too) and lastly, broken adapter(To mention, it's right type, 5 pin, so it could only be literally broken inside-loose, but it seems quality and if it was loose there would still be some kind of output on TV, during normal charging period)
Can anyone give some solution...? I can't find any similar problem to mine, so I have no idea what could be the cause.

Video output to non-HDMI devices

Hello,
I am looking for solution on how to connect Shield Tablet to devices with VGA/DVI input.
So far I have tried using HDMI to VGA convertor (works on my PC) with cheap miniHDMI to HDMI cable from china, so basicly:
[Tablet -> miniHDMI to HDMI -> HDMI to VGA convertor -> simple VGA cable -> 1680x1050 VGA monitor / fullHD VGA/DVI monitor ] ... No succes.
Second attempt was with same miniHDMI to HDMI cable, but connected to HDMI to DVI-D cable to the same fullHD VGA/DVI monitor:
[Tablet -> miniHDMI to HDMI -> HDMI to DVI-D cable -> fullHD VGA/DVI monitor ] ... Still no succes.
I think that problem may be in that cheap miniHDMI to HDMI. It works fine with HDMI devices, but no luck with the other cables.
Any thoughts if I should buy some better miniHDMI to HDMI cable or those solutions I was trying are just not possible?
Update
UPDATE:
So I bough another miniHDMI to HDMI cable and it still does not work with HDMI to VGA convertor, but it works fine with my second solution, HDMI to DVI.
VGA is an analog signal. Shield devices don't support the transcoding, you need an external box for that.
HDMI is DVI + sound (and now Ethernet) over the same cable. So converting the plug back to DVI should always work.

Mecool M8S Pro TV Box

I have the Android TV Box mentioned in the subject. See the link below:
https://www.flipkart.com/mbox-mecoo...evice/p/itmewa4r5afxzfwn?pid=SELEWA4RPFZZ8QGN
It is connected to my Yamaha AV-Receiver HTR-3065 via HDMI. But I'm not getting surround sound output from the TV Box! Any help is appreciated! I thought it used to work. In "Direct" Mode on the amp only the front three speakers light up! It's on Nougat (Android 7.1).
