Hi everyone,
It's 2nd day of using my S22 ultra snapdragon version,
I noticed sometimes touch doesn't work over the fingerprint sensor area for a few seconds and after a while it works fine. Most of the time I noticed while typing on the keyboard, T & Y keys at the sensor area these keys are often missed while typing.
A comma placed left side of the space bar and it presses automatically while typing.
Try clearing the system cache.
May be a hardware issue if so it's not going away. Test it.
The variable refresh rate displays have been suffering a higher failure rate across the board.

Lot of reports of ghost touch on Reddit when typing. Happens to me too, hopefully it'll be fixed in an update.

It's not not the refresh rate setting issue but rather the hardware and/or firmware itself.
In Accessibility settings your could try playing with the touch and hold delay setting. I would also test the display for touch dead spots as well. Your problem may be different from what others are complaining about.
On a returnable phone I wouldn't play with it too much as that's an obvious flaw.

rescan the same finger as 2nd fingerprint
No solution in accessibility.
I already scanned more than one fingerprints.
Found a solution for ghost touches.
Turn off the Touch sensitivity.

Having owned a Qtek 2020/8080 and a 9090, I thought I'd give a windows mobile handset a fourth try by buying the HTC touch pro.
These are my experiences so far:
- the first 2 days I had a hard time not accidentally hang up during phonecalls
- Slow responses lead to usability hell - when a tap on a button does not seem to register, a second tap triggers a second action.
- GPS coordinates do not seem to be attached to pictures' exifdata, while it is enabled using Kaisertweak.
With the previous phone I had (Motorola RZR) I could start a new phonecall within 2 seconds. With my htc touch pro it takes 2 seconds to get to the contacts screen.
My second choice would be an iPhone. Usabilitywise that might have been a good idea, but I really require a hardware keyboard like the htc touch pro has.
Are there any speed-specific tweaks available that could speed up the userinterface? Are there themes that consume less cpu/mem?
(I do love this device because of the amount of features it packs. I'm in some kind of love-hate relationship with my phone, currently ;-)

No slowness problems here - but I did make use of the speed tweaks in the 'Raphael Tweaks' thread from the off, so I can only advise doing the same.

Same here, tweaks do make a difference.
Hrm,
no problems here ROM info in sig and zero tweaks applied.
Once you apply the tweaks, have turned it on and gone through the various touch flo pages once (seemingly to get things cached) then the interface is fast.

I have removed the touchflo application from the today screen, as that was giving me the most headaches. Touching the screen didn't always register, but setting the sensitivity higher helped. I'll give that a try after I have applied the speed tweaks.

I found that just putting the stylus on the screen doesnt make the device react, but once a tiny bit of pressure is used it reacts flawlessly.

It's a resistive touch screen, that's how they work. They require at least a modicum of pressure to register a touch/press.

Some have regretted that the Touch Pro doesn't have a capacitive screen because of this, but I've noted they have the opposite problem, in that screen presses can register too easily. At least with a resistive screen it is possible to adjust the required pressure.

One would assume the same applies for capacitive touch screens too.
Capacitive screens work on measuring the distortion of magnetic fields, the distortion threshold before a "touch" is registered could be adjusted.

I'm sure that's the case. I was commenting on what can be done with a resistive screen rather than comparing unfavourably with a capacitive screen.
No speed issues here, even without tweaks.
I can agree that screen sensitivity is too low even if set up to high but I taking my time...: )

I have a slight issue with my Droid Mini. It seems, that sometimes the screen is turning off on its own when I am in a app drawer mostly. I am scrolling, or moving apps, or even doing nothing and the screen shuts down sometimes instantly.
I sort of THINK that it may be because of the light/proximity sensor. Because it is happening when I am holding my phone in a left hand, and because the top bezel is so small, I think my finger is over some sensor here.
have you noticed the same issue? Or is it normal behavior?

I've noticed this issue on 4.2.2 When i upgrade it to 4.4 all works fine) Also you can change proximity sensor distinct into build.prop
Just read it - it's simple operation.

Does anyone noticing that the touchscreen on the S6 is very sensitive. The screen registers my touches even when my finger is not physically touching the glass. I like highly sensitive touchscreen but it can be annoying especially when I am scrolling webpages.

I might be wrong, but I think since the S4 or Note 3, the phone has had the ability to detect when a finger was hovering over a particular spot. Though that is probably incorect because I only vaguely remember reading something about that 2 years ago when Samsung started introducing crazy features like scrolling based off of tilt and such.

Yeah I remember this feature on previous Samsung phones, but there is nothing in the settings that indicates that there is such feature on the S6.
Screens don't even work with the note stylist.
I agree, it is SUPER sensitive. For me, this is a plus, because I tend to be too fast for most touch screens, and the extra sensitivity keeps the S6 on par with my quick hands. I actually love everything about this phone, and I am very picky.

But, does your device have accedental touches when swiping quickly a webpage or an app?

I don't have mine till later today, but, on the S5, there are two settings that may be affecting the issue you are having. Can you still search the settings on the S6? Look for "Air View" (main culprit) and "Touch Sensitivity".

I would like to see the touch response time of this device's screen measured. It's seems very responsive .
Yes it does and it's really annoying. To replicate the issue, scroll down a web slowly and then lift a very little like 0.5-1mm of your finger while you scroll it up. So scroll down and then lift a bit and scroll up without touching the screen. When you do this fast enough, the page will scroll up following your finger movement without touching the screen at all. Weird.
The Air View feature was removed on the S6, it was present on the S5 and Note variants. Same thing with the Screen Sensitivity toggle from the S5, Samsung just opted to make the screen more sensitive by default.
i have an S5 and S6 so I was able to compare.
I used the S5 for about a week and the touch screen was great
once I got the S6 I noticed i keep accidently hitting back/window button . upon tinkering and testing I realized the screen is super sensitive. If you take both the S5 and S6 (one in each hand) and lay them face down on your lap together, the S6 will hit buttons (and thus vibrate), the S5 wont

Have that as well on my 1st S6 Vodafone EU 32gb.
Returned it for other reasons and will receive new one next week....
My touch screen was not sensitive at all, very unresponsive

I tried a reset, a full system restore, I tried safe mode, I tired uninstalling all apps, I tried screen tests and can verify for me, that this above solution was the only thing that fixed my problem.
Screen is working wonderfully now

I tried this and got an error message that this feature is not available on my service. I'm on US Cellular, I don't know if that matters or not. I saw this fix posted on another site and it seemed to work for a few people who were having the same issues that I'm experiencing. I'm not very technically savvy...do you actually dial/call this number sequence? How do I choose or command "TSP firmware update"? Thanks.
Some games are impossible to play because the screen is so sensitive it counts a touch as a swipe and some apps read as two touches. This happens consistently, not just here and there.

Not sure if it's just the way I'm holding the phone, but I frequently find myself turning on a timer, only to realise that I've paused/cancelled it like 2 secs after. Great when you put something in the oven and forget lol.
Hello. I have an Nvidia Shield tablet k1 on lollipop 5.1.1. Everything is great about this tablet except the touch screen. It is really sensitive. Also, when I am scrolling, it "jumps" and goes faster than I actually scrolled. It scrolls faster than it should. I found this thread on xda. It helped a little with the being too sensitive issue, but scrolling is still really weird. This is my second device since the first one's micro sd card was defective. They both are like this. Is there anything I can do, or do I just have to deal with it?

I was opening a thread with this exact same issue. I'm not on stock though (using the latest CM12 nightly), so I don't seem to have the 'Sensor Calibration' option.
Also the touchscreen seems to register a touch even when the finger is not touching the screen.
On the other hand, if I scroll a very small distance (like 0.5 centimetres) the list I'm scrolling doesn't move at all. This doesn't happen on other devices such as my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 and is very annoying in some cases (some games, or moving the cursor for keyboard input).
I'll try to record a video of this behaviour.
What can we do to fix this?

Its like it looses track of the touch then catches it again.
It's irritating as my S5, Nexus 2012 have no problems scrolling smoothly.
I don't recall the original shield i tested in store to have this issue either.
Currently having amazon ship me a replacement to see if its just limited to the one I received. (QA issues)
Calibrating screen might fix the issues: go to About in settings and tap on model number until the calibration screen comes up. then hit calibrate. don't touch the screen then when it asks to reboot, reboot.

Did it fix the issue I posted the video about? I'm on Cyanogenmod now so I don't have the option to calibrate the screen, but I would consider going back to stock if it fixed this issue...
Calibration doesnt help at all , same issue at brand new k1. Nvidia says thats normal functionality lol

You mean it doesn't "jump" like the OP said? I don't seem to have that issue either.
I'm more concerned about the touchscreen's precision, as shown in the video.
I have reading the forum and tried contacting 1+7 also but they just say switch off nfc and so on but till today (1 month since I bought it ) I still have the problem . while making a call it goes on hold or connects another call or something or the other happens and the other person gets irritated as if I am doing on purpose. I am still unable to solve this will changing rom be the solution or can someone please help I am fed up with this instrument
My 2 cents... are you sure that it's a ghost touch issue? To me it seems more a proximity sensor trouble... it is possible that, while in call, screen doesn't go off (or wake up while you're talking) and your ear triggers commands at random.
Try to check that your screen remains black while in call, else you could try to reset sensors with one of the apps available on Play Store.
BTW: I had a similar problem one or two times, but maybe because I wasn't so near the phone while I was talking.

Search for "Proximity sensor reset" or similar names. Usually apps like that needs root privileges, btw.
I've had problems with the screen waking up and then causing problems while in call too. This while it's still against my face. Apparently touching my face makes it go into other apps and causes problems. I've had it go into airplane mode, mute and do other weird stuff.
I've had the screen go crazy with multiple chains of taps too, especially while holding it in landscape mode.
Turning the refresh rate down to 60 Hz helped some, but the problem's still there.
I think there's something jacked in their implementation. I came from an S8 that had a curved screen and I never had the phantom tap problems I have with this thing.

Disabling double tap to wake resolved my screen wakeup during calls issue...
UPG to 9.5.10 Plz - Issue has disappeared again.

I'll try that, but I don't think I have that enabled. I disabled NFC for the other tap issues and that helped some.
I really wish there was a screen calibration tool. Samsung curved screens have none of these issues.
Do you have a dirty screen protector?
This is a known bug with the proximity sensor, although, actually, I believe the root cause is something else.
Screen does go black, which indicates the proximity sensor is working and recognizes your face is near... But input is still allowed (meaning it does not lock it).
As a result, during a call your face/ear will press whatever is underneath and trigger random actions.
I believe (I hope?) that OnePlus is aware of this issue and they issue a fix.
I think it was briefly fixed for 9.5.9 and then reverted on 9.5.10 since it introduced other issues.
Quality control has been a bit subpar on the OnePlus 7 Pro builds when compared to my previous OnePlus phones...
