Need help with proper APN settings for T-mobile USA. I have tried a few and network speed is extremely slow. Can anyone help me?
EDIT: To note, I am using a Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G instead of a Pro+ 5G, but they support almost the same bands. Unless you have the China edition, if you have the China edition, you probably have no T-Mobile service.
This seems like something you could ask your local T-Mobile store for help with, right?
I use Mint Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) and it automatically grabbed these MVNO settings:

I hope this helps you. My speed has been very fast, however for some reason I am unable to use T-Mobile's band 12 for 4g. Have you had problems with this?
Otherwise no problem so far. Let me know

Just visit your ATT store or call them. I was stuck with H for a day until they had to create a service request for a higher tech person to fix it.
Make sure they prevision your plan to "4G LTE". It can be taken care of over the phone.
I have the same issue, however I'm on a dealer line so I can't have customer service change it, I have to have my rep do it and he is having trouble figuring it out, and so my at&t rep says that he thinks its because I didn't have an LTE phone prior to this (nexus 4) so he is gonna try to change my imei to his G2 he doesn't use

will be calling to check what AT&T says. My last 2 phones were LTE so I definitely had it.

Ah ok then make sure they provision your imei to work! Make sure to talk to a tier 2 representative if the first person doesn't do it or something

I remember reading in another thread that the IMEIs on the n5 don't register as an lte capable phone in AT&Ts system. You may need to obtain one from a phone that is confirmed to work on their LTE, or have CS generate one for you by telling them you can't find yours. Wish I could find the thread, but they get buried so fast around here.
Keep in mind that this info was from a few days ago so it could just be that AT&T wasn't prepared for the launch...they may have already fixed the problem.

If you put in a sim card from a HSPA only phone before switching to LTE or a new sim then you may need to do a factory reset. That was the only solution that worked to get me on LTE as I was also stuck on HSPA. Could be worth a shot if you don't figure it out.
Yeah just had to call at&t to have them re-switch on my LTE. When I was using an old iPhone 3gs they "turn it off". Thanks for all the support!

Hi guys, when you have time would you throw an eye on this thread.Merry Christmas to everyone, how are you?
I just bought recently unlocked AT&T made in Korea LG optimus G pro e980
The kernel is of AT&T because when i start the phone i see the logo of AT&T mobile.
I am on Walmart Family mobile plan they are OVN of T-Mobile. I am on unlimited text, data, talk plan, it is included 2 GB of 3G data.
The android version of the phone is 4.1.2, baseband version APQ8064,MDM9X15m Kernel 3.4.0, build number JZO54K,software version E98010k
My APN settings are as follows, i tried the one from FAQ of family mobile too, but i still couldn't have 3G coverage.
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com

On the top corner of the screen above the network coverage stays the letter "E" (EDGE) and the internet is very slow!
I've seen they are many AT&T brand applications are installed on the device like: at&t drive mode, at&t Locker, at&t Navigator e.t.c.
Please guys what you would suggest me what i have to do. Do i need to root, to unlock the boot loader, or to change the base bands to get the 3G coverage or what? I would be thankful if you answer me with links or step by step what i have to do, because i am newbie in this area, i have experience in desktop pc, laptops, some software and hardware knowledge, i am mint in smartphones.
ck.
I live now in Bryans Road, Maryland this area is 3G covered i already checked.
When i search on networks in the phone i also see signals from AT&T antennas like AT&T RAT:14,3,2 and three for Family mobile.
Thank you. Mr. Stark recommend me to change the preferred network to 3G or LTE in settings, i am still trying to find where is that in my phone, but can't find it
I have the Nexus 7 LTE (2013) and I use T-Mobile pay-as-you data ($30 / month). I have great data connection, even when my N7 only shows 1 bar and I still get at least 1 Mbps download. No issue even when I am in subway train. This drove me to get T-Mobile Simple Choice Plan for my whole family.
I got the Nexus 5 straight from Google and the experience has been the exact opposite! I can get full bar, LTE icon showing up and... no data transmission. Sometimes I get good data, sometimes I don't.
I looked at the APN settings for both the N5 and N7 and they're slightly different, so I am wondering if I have the right settings. I don't know if I have a Nexus 5 with bad radio or just the wrong setting - Can anyone assist?
Here's what I have:

Use ipv4 on Nexus 5! Apply and reboot, test, report back.
Yeah I was gonna say the same as it seems speeds limited on IPV6 for your Nexus 5.
Hey guys. I'm using my sprint s6 edge on T-Mobile. I know on the verizon models you can just leave it on global mode and it will go to LTE,
But on the sprint s6 edge, when i go to global, it says tmobile LTE on about phone>status but I cant configure a data connection. I have to switch back to HSPA+ to configure APN
ANy ideas on how to make LTE work? if even possible
How did you get your sprint s6 edge to work on t-mobile? Also I believe sprint models can only receive HSPA+.

I have the same question.. I purchased a sprint s6 edge from eBay and used idone app to carrier unlock. But I'm only getting 3g. Is there a way to get LTE using T-Mobile?
First a question: Does everything else work on the phone on T-Mobile? I've considered buying one on ebay because they're cheaper than the other varients of the S6 edge.
Now to answer your question: Call T-Mobile and have them enter your IMEI number as being LTE capable. It takes about 30 seconds, then reboot the phone. If it works you will have LTE. I just did it last week on my LG Optimus G Pro. T-Mobile doesn't recognise the AT&T IMEI of my phone, but now that it's in the system ... BAM LTE BABY!
To get LTE working you have to make another apn exactly like your regular tmobile apn but set the bearer to LTE. and leave your network mode to Automatic.
i just tried to set bearer as LTE and then i got no data on my sprint s6 on cricket/att. can anyone confirm ever having lte on these phones? i seen another thread where someone says they have it but they dont reply on the s6 section due to no roms. has anyone tried flashing a tmobile rom without the modem and then installing a sprint s6 unikernel? ive gotten gsm roms to boot but my baseband was unknown and had to flash a sprint rom again to make gsm calls. we could figure this out if people worked together .

This kind of worked for me. The LTE works, however I can't send or receive text messages (MMS works though). Texts work when I switch it back to 3G.
Edit: I'm using an unlocked sprint galaxy s6 edge on T-Mobile.
Has anyone has any luck with this? I'm still at the point where I have HSPA+ on T-Mobile but no LTE.
Everything is working for me 920p. Had sprint unlock the phone.
Had to use the epc.tmobile apn not the fast.tmobile one. (Google it)
I only had 3g for a while, then I found you have to get your msl code do the ##data# on phone keypad. Go to edit enter your msl code.
Go to LTE it will be disabled, enable it. Go back. Go to CA enabled(I think) enable that also (carrier aggregation), it will reboot now it works for me.
Its only been a day but SMS,MMS calls all work. I've seen something about voicemail not working but I use Google voice and it works so idk.
I'm on the 6.0.1 stock. Don't know if that matters.
Edit- this did work, but two days later I had LTE but no call service. Its my business phone so I had to revert to 3g only, Im thinking now its the ROM that is the problem. Because your only option is LTE/CDMA or GSM. If you leave it on automatic which is what I had it on, it can switch to CDMA I guess and that's when I lost cell service. On a T-Mobile ROM I think there is an option for GSM/LTE

I have 6.0.1 stock os. Dsu by stifilz. Get lte 4g sometimes. 3g is kinda fast. Cannot send mms tho. Can recieve thm. Sm g920p.
Has this been resolved? been thinking about picking up a Sprint S6 from a family for Tmobile :[
I have lte after adding a apn but mms is a no go.
anyway to get mms working on T-Mobile?
agree no MMS
Hi Guys, SM-G920P working with HSPA+ and LTE on T-Mobile with MMS working. Unlocked with idoneapps and couldn't get lte. I resolved by turning on domestic data roaming.

I have T-Mobile LTE and MMS on my unlocked Sprint GS6 Edge (G925P). The only issue I ran into was not being able to send MMS messages while connected to WiFi from the default messaging app; which was resolved by changing my default messaging app to Textra. See Network settings below.
*** After saving the APN settings, if you are still showing that your are getting 3G speed, toggle the Network mode from automatic to GSM, then toggle it back to "Automatic", then phone will reboot and you should have LTE.***

how to get lte on unlocked g920p
its actually pretty simple all you have to do is download the latest tmobile firmware for g920t and flash it onto your sprint s6 (g920p) using odin.

Is this confirmed yet?
Backstory: I purchased this phone from Samsung because of the trade-in promotion they were running. I traded in my AT&T Note 5 (N920A) where I had great LTE coverage in most places around where I work/live, unless I was in an area of a building that restricted reception. Before the N920A I had the international Note 5 (N920I) and it worked great on LTE as well.
I live in a suburb of Nashville, and the Cricket coverage map shows great LTE coverage where I work and live (I live less than a mile from where I work) but I'm getting less than .5mbit down/up around this areaeven though my phone shows that I have 4 bars LTE. With that said, there are other areas around town where my LTE is just fine and I get the advertised 8mbit download speeds that Cricket offers.
Are we sure that this unlocked version of the S8+ has all of the LTE bands enabled with its stock firmware? Apparently is has all of the bands, but do I need to flash to the AT&T firmware in order for them to be activated?
Edit: XDA won't let me post outside links to show screenshots of APN so I'll post below.
