Hi, I'm new to custom Android ROMs - so please forgive my lack of knowledge in this field..
About 2 months ago I've installed my first custom Android on Poco X3 Pro - the way it is written ( https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/vayu/install ) with Open GApps. Everything works fine, except one thing:
With Viber ( viber.com ) when I start or answer a voice only call with no headphones, then the other side of the call can't hear me - that's all.
But other scenarios work well - e.g.:
I can record and send a voice message using Viber
I can start or answer video call using Viber without this issue. Everything works fine even if both sides turn off video and we continue only with voice without loudspeaker - yeah, this is my current workaround..
I can start or answer voice calls using Viber with my jack headphones plugged in without this issue.
Other apps (e.g. Whatsapp, Phone app, Zoom) don't have this issue.
I tried to uninstall/reinstall Viber - no change.
I thought that one of the next updates of Lineage or of Viber will fix this issue - but it didn't happen yet for 2 months - so I decided to write here sth.
My OS/apps state:
Poco X3 Pro model: M2102J20SG
LineageOS 18.1 build 2022-04-15 the latest build https://download.lineageos.org/vayu/changes/
Viber v17.4.0.4 the latest from GPlay ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viber.voip )
Did anyone have a similar problem? Or does someone has any idea what can it be and what should I do?
call recorder installed? cube? any app uses accessibility?

nope - unfortunatly none of them
LineageOS has built-in call recorder, try to disable it or check if it's enabled by default
I'm sorry, I could find only the built-in recorder app - disabling it didn't change anything. Where can I find the built-in call recorder that you mentioned?
It seems that only Viber has this problem on my phone. The workaround that seems to work always for me:
- start/answer a call normally
- touch "Hold" - holding the call
- touch "Speaker" - turning on the Loudspeaker mode
- touch "Hold" - resuming the call
- touch "Speaker" - turning off the Loudspeaker mode
- now the other side can always here you
What to do.. - I have found some opinions that Poco X3 Pro (vayu) had always problems with audio in LineageOS and it won't change.. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-1-for-poco-x3-pro-vayu.4301199/post-86849739
With updating to one of the latest builds the problem disappeared. So it seems like it's fixed.

Hello,
I've recently got a new phone: Philips Xenium W8510 (MediaTek MT6589, Android 4.2).
I've installed Viber and it works fine except for one thing: voice calls always go through the main (loud) speaker,
and the button to switch speakers is greyed out.
Has anybody had this problem before? If not, could you please point me to the Viber bugtracker of some sort?
I'm an experienced user, and I'm willing to provide logs, run tests, etc., I just don't know where to contact the support team.
Thank you.

From time to time, this happens to me too (Huawei G700, MT6589, Android 4.2.1), but only recently (3.0.1 to 4.0.1.2).
What I do to fix it is one of the following: either I Clear Data (then I re-register the device), or I uninstall an reinstall the app. This makes it work for a couple of times, then...
If you really clarify this bug, please let us know about the details.
I have exactly the same problem, any solution to this? Got Xiaomi Note 3G, MTK 6592
Try to delete the cache in the program menu. This helped on some devices.
Tried it, didn't do any good...

check in the settings.
i had a text free app and in the setting i could choose where i want the audio to come out from. i had the choice to choose from call speaker,, or audio speaker
There's no such choice in viber settings..
you should tell this problem to the developers of this app
they may have missed that option for your os or mobile
I used to have call recording working before the Lollipop release using this program.
The problem is that now it won't record. I think at best I can record off the mic or something but you can't really hear what the caller is saying. I tried rooting my device but that doesn't seem to have made a difference.
Does anyone have a Oneplus One that can record calls clearly right now?

Either that or install Xposed and enable the Call Recording Module for One Plus One.

I couldn't get xposed to work...something about compatibility problems.
But I did get my phone rooted fine with TWRP and figured out how to manage my messed up drivers on Windows 7 enough to get the nightly installed with adb sideload. And I found the record option while in a call and it works.
Thanks.
Still working on latest official build - using Xposed framework:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3469283&d=1441910102
and module:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.pyler.enablecmcallrec
It's there
It's there on CM12/CM12.1.
You go to the dialer --> "three dots" --> Settings --> Dialing --> Call record format
Choose AAC as AMR-WB doesn't work (so far).
At the next call, once the other party will pick up, the leftmost icon will be a "three dots".
Go there and choose "record the call".
At the end the record file will be in CallRecordings folder.
P.S.
Some wording could be different, while similar, as my phone is not set in English.
total recall works for me
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with my mi4i when I have voice calls the microphone doesn't register any sound. It works fine on speakerphone and on doing recordings which leads me to believe this is software and not hardware.
I've tried removing the google voice detection stuff by inhibiting it, as i saw elsewhere this was a problem. I couldn't find any options about noise cancellation which may be malfunctioning.
I'm currently using the most up to date MIUI rom (MIUI 7.0.3.0, android version 5.0.2 LRX22G, kernel 3.10.49) but was previously using the ressurection remix. Both times I had the same problem; I was hoping that with the update to the latest MIUI it would fix this problem, but alas it hasn't.
If anyone has any ideas of how to fix this it would be appreciated.
Also, thanks to all the people out there working on ROMs and fixes!
Thanks

Hi everyone,
So I've been using voip.ms as my phone service for a few years now, and the native SIP client on Android has always worked like a charm on my previous phones (Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexuis 5X).
I just got a Samsung Galaxy S7 G930F, and it seems like the native SIP client is broken and not working properly.
I got to configure the SIP settings by following this guide, but it seems like I cannot get outoing calls to work (incoming calls work perfectly).
Whenever I make a call, I cannot use the volume controls (stuck at max volume), and when the other party answers my call, they hear a loud strident machine sound, but they cannot hear me at all. I can hear them, but the sound is really choppy.
I've tried factory resetting the phone, I've also tried using the Google Dialer, but the problem persists.
Normal calls work just fine, so it seems like this has something to do with the SIP stack.
My questions to you guys are, has anyone had success in using the native Android SIP client on their Samsung Galaxy S7 phone? Has anyone experienced the same issue?
I'm now using Zoiper for making VOIP calls, but its implementation of Bluetooth car controls is broken. That's one of the reasons I liked the Android native SIP client so much: it worked perfectly out of the box on my previous Nexus phones.
Thank you.
same problem here, with the addition that the noise also occurs on incoming calls, thus making the internal SIP client useless. It was working fine on my S5mini (an otherwise crippled phone), and I have the exact same setup on the S7. I tested safe mode and uninstalling a call recorder app, but to no avail.
Samsung, I bought your premium phone, so get this fixed!

Same problem on my S7. CSipSimple works but without the native client integration I cannot use BT.
Im using Canadian Exynos if that makes a difference. Anyone who has tried the Nougat beta, does it fix it?
the problem seems to be fixed after upgrading to Android 7.0

I have 7.0 (stock rom) on my A320FL (Galaxy A3 2017) and i'm still having this exact problem with the native SIP client I hope they fix it on android O or i'll have to wait for a custom rom to be released ;-;
s8 active choppy sip sound
Incoming calls are working but outgoing have choppy sound. I tried different codecs on freepbx side but still the same. Any updates for better sound quality?
for whatever reason (one of the last updates?), internet calling now works on Samsung Galaxy S7, Android 7.0, G930FXXU2DRA9.
updated to Android 8.0 today. VoIP connections not usable anymore. After installing "Galaxy SIP Accounts" I can again edit the connections and send and receive calls, but the connection is completely silent - not even the cracking noise I had for a while with Android 7 before it magically disappeared.
Any ideas what to do?

It works fine on S7 & Oreo with my provider (odorik.cz). Already did a few calls without any issues.
one day later after installing Zoiper but not changing any phone or network settings, the native client is working again... quite strange behavior...
SOLVED - Problems with VOIP Client
hi there,
since this thread helped / enlightened me, i thought i contribute some observations of mine.
Used hardware: Samsung Galaxy S7
Aprox. one and a half year ago i started with VOIP and of course as a newbie i did it with apps like Zoiper IAX or CSip Simple, but never was really happy to have to use an extra app for phone calls.
While later i discovered the both apps "Galaxy SIP accounts" and "Galaxy SIP settings" in an article, downloaded them from playstore, setup them in a minute and was totally happy.
Was glad that i could remove those other apps then.
Because my S7 starts to loosen its display now, i got myself another one and because i now knew that those two Galaxy SIP apps worked perfectly i installed them from the start being extremely disappointed about echoes and heavily distorted sound.
Then read this thread and thought i'd give it a try (because couldn't get the built-in client work properly anyway) and installed zoiper, did my phone call and everything worked smoothely.
Then i remembered that on the former phone i had external apps installed before as well.
So to me it seems that, at least on the S7 with Nougat/Oreo those external apps change something and make the hidden client work properly which can then be utilized with the two Galaxy SIP apps.
Now i have deinstalled zoiper but the VOIP client still works fine !
Hope my story gives useful information to someone as well

Hi, recently baught Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 plus with original ROM as is. It is awesome. But there is a very strange issue with it. After installing apps all those for communication between people like viber, skype, messenger etc. are working fine. But when I started to use native camera app for some time it is working good and can record video with sound but at some later point (don't know why and how), it can't record video with sound anymore. After reset factory settings to start over, camera again can record video with sound. I also experiment after installing each app related to the use of microphone if it make mic not working but this is not the case. Well after many tries to identify the problem I downloaded an app for recording only audio. It is called voice recorder. And surprisingly for me it turned microphone on and after using it, it enables the mic and then immediately after that I can record video with sound from the native camera app. It seems come flag identifying the mic is enabled is turned on and off in defferent conditions. So how can I solve this problem? Tried to use feedback from the tablet but it is not working for some reason, when I hit send button to report this issue it gives some error on chinese which I can't understand. Thank you
