Hi, I got an old Tab 2 from a family member. It's a useless device for to use as a daily driver but I want to use it as an Epub/pdf/comic reader. Nothing more than that. The screen is intact and the device is hella slow. So my plan for it is to just wipe it. Install a custom rom without gapps. (I'll be sideloading most apps) and to use it for reading. But many apps now available need a much modern OS. So was wondering what is the latest version of rom you can get. I don't need cellular or working camera. Just basic functionality. Even not having WiFi isn't an isse.

It pains me to tell you that all the custom ROMS I have used on my XT1022 have the GPS bug. I am facing that bug in all CUSTOM ROMS except STOCK. Can it be solved by you people? People like us are a minority but still, even we have a voice.

For the gps bug first enable gps in stock rom use it for some time and keep it on and flash the cm or any lp rom uh want.

I really don't know why screenshot aren't in the "Screenshots" tab.

Every rom I do release, has to pass stability plus acceptable battery criteria.

There are two builds daily, one for oreo and one for pie. No idea about stability, gonna try it this weekend but I'm sure it is stable enough (after all it is coming from Dian who is our LOS official maintainer since beginning)

Well, kernel and device tree is more or less same for all the roms of our device. Only initial bringup of the rom takes effort. He is also official maintainer for xiaomi note3 for both of these roms.

Ok, so I just flashed this rom and as of now it just seems to be copy of LOS. No mokee features or customisations are available yet. I only noticed different sound pack being used for ringtones and alarms. And unlike LOS, internet traffic indicators are working fine.

I point out that in the versions of 25-26 / 03/2019 there was a problem with the SIM cards that are not detected and consequently the data network does not work.

I would suggest whiping at least system, cache, and art cache.
Then it should work. However, a clean install is always the best option.

For those who are still having a Moto G 2014 LTE around: in my experience this is the best ROM available. Yes, Android 7.1 is old, but the ROMs for Android 8 and 9 that I could find and tested for this phone are unstable for me. Also, for this Android 7.1 ROM up-to-date builds are still being published, I assume with the backported security fixes as mentioned in this thread (warning: that ROM is for a different phone than Thea!) - since Google did abandon Android 7.1 years ago already. And as such, I'm currently running the 20230105 build.
I do have to confess I haven't tested all functionalities in this ROM, so I don't know if they are all working. I solely use this phone in combination with the L3GO (Android Go version) of Rootless Pixel Launcher 3.9.1 and Simple Keyboard to save as much as memory possible - to be used by the Brave browser to watch Youtube over wifi. And that works surprisingly good, without the black screens and soft reboots that I had with Android 8 and 9 ROMs.
Just thought I would let the world know - since this Android 7.1 ROM might not appear to be the most flashy one, but still works best for me.
And big thanks to gothicVI for the effort!
