What version phone you have and what update version you get? Never such thing as to much info
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, I got one on my S8+ on AT&T. I have no idea what it did though, lawl. Like, aren't any obvious changes.
Build says ...AQD9. also At&t s8 plus. What i do notice is that bixby hardly responds to a button push. Weird.

Oh, the build #? What I meant by changes, I meant something bigger, like an interface change or fixing glitches. That's why I'm saying that I haven't noticed any changes. I know a version # will update somewhere, but what did the update actually do? That's what I don't know. I haven't tried to reconfigure the Bixby button, as I don't care to do so, so no idea if you can actually still remap it. I've heard no, but I have no firsthand experience on that.
S8+ here. I didn't have the prior version information saved but grabbed these after yesterday's ATT update. The 2nd screenshot is missing the battery capacity at the bottom (didn't fit in the grab) but that's static info anyway.
I'm guessing this is the update to inhibit Bixby button remapping but haven't tested.

Still havent done it myself. Device is working so great im afraid new update will f something up.
Yes. Am with Rogers network and got the ...QD9 update pushed down onto the phone. As far as Bixby is concerned I've read somewhere that it wasn't fully operational at release but will be very shortly (a few days) and we can all expect an update coming for that.
Got an update yesterday...about 660MB in size.
So I noticed most of the pink screen fix updates were only 200mb ish. Today AT&T got that update, but it was almost 500 MB. More than twice the size. Any ideas on what else changed?
Downloading it now. Something like a... lets say..... a Changelog? would be nice lol.

AT&T usually posts a changelog within a few days of pushing a new release.
Meanwhile, the update itself displays this helpful information: "The software update supports enhanced performance and other device improvements".
It's G955USQU1AQDE, and the security level is still April 1, 2017 (not May).
Think it adds the red tint fix. So there are more display options.
I'm on verizon and haven't gotten a update since release day when I picked it up.
So one issue they seem to have fixed was that annoying DQA app popup that I disabled and re enabled before the update.

No, as I said, that description was from the update itself, not from AT&T. You can see that AT&T's changelog for AQD9 (they haven't yet updated it to AQDE) is at least slightly more informative.
btu and XEU was yesterday at 423mb
Getting it now at 480mb Hope the wifi gets fixed

I'm on exynos too....but after what seemed like a big update file, can't notice any obvious changes....any ideas?
Matt.
Took a long time to update and a few reboots, but I notice no difference.
weird?
At least we got the August update in August. We usually get the btu monthly update on the first date of the following month lol
Not sure what updates we're getting with this though
It seems a tad snappier, and the navbar seems more transparent, may just be my imagination.

I just got this update (V450VM10j) on my Verizon phone.
But I don't see this update on the lg website, or the Verizon website...
Makes me nervous...is this legit?

If you got the update via ota of course it's legit..... But i thought 10j was still pie don't you have 10?
Nope, still 9. LG hasn't pushed 10 for the v50 have they? I thought I read they were prepping 10 in December.
It was ota, and hence I do think it's probably legit. But I like to read release notes. And there are none, none from LG and none from Verizon. So I'm asking others.

They have pushed it
Also received update on 3/21
I heard it will be the last update prior to 10. We still have 10 days left in Q1, so they can still live up to release prediction (in theory) but stuff in the world as it stands, a lag in delivery is respectable. Depends who's still working/programming/delivering and who's quarantined....

Like i said it's already delivered. I'm not 100% sure about Verizon, but I'm fairly certain that they also pushed it
Here's the lg v50 update page from LG, what I could find.
https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-...0vm-software-update-CT10000027-20151161979089
Here's the update page for the v50, from Verizon (that 8 could find)
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/lg-v50-thinq-5g-update/
I saw an article dated late January saying they pushed 10 n Korea, and last month the first is carrier pushed it in the US.
Below is an article that talks about it going out in February....I certainly don't have it.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/9to5google.com/2020/01/24/lg-android-10-v50-thinq-g8x/amp/
Anyway, again, it made me leery that there were no release notes and I can't find any info on what this update is (version j)

No need to worry it's just a security patch lol
(Revised 3/2/21)
If by now, you haven't received this firmware update from your wireless provider, something is askew and you probably should start looking that. Other than that, if you're not already running on it, you've probably made that choice!
As with all software updates, it's never a bad time to either perform a new backup before commencing with the OTA download, or at least check on what date your showing for the last one (usually, you'll find your handset performs these daily, once every 24 hours). As for me personally, that's my cue to run my backup to my microsd card via the Smartswitch app!
The last friendly reminder I wanted to share witb some of our newcomers that have recently graced us with their presence, is to make certain you're at (or pretty damn close) to 75% charged on your new flagship! The way these new "beasts" we own "bleed-out" our batteries, it's not a bad idea to "up the ante" with the old school rule of having your battery at 50% or more before downloading the update! I saw this same topic mentioned on one of the other forums/channels the other day and thought it was some good advice? Eh, to each his/her own...whatever works for you!

I read Samsung already started rolling out out this update at the beginning of the week(2/15)
to include this handset. I'm TMB and that's a
no-go (so far) and Sprint hasn't rolled it out either.
Anyone with new Intel on this matter, please share as a small monetary contribution will be made available(jk)!

yep, saw that, but you're an Unlocked, Carrier Branded SM-N986U, not SM-N986U1. That's where my confusion came about until I figured it out looking at FOTA!
I know it's no cause for alarm (with samsung, it happens more often than not) but I didn't see a new build # assigned yet for XAA(as if they hadn't started one, but much more likely they just failed to update their system)!
However, for those of you SM-N986U1 users (like myself) seeing this dialog, we could be in for a little longer wait, meaning we may not have Our Update by this coming Monday (3/1), as a few of the websites I saw earlier were speculating!
(We will know more soon, I'm certain)!

**ONE UI 3.1 SOFTWARE UPDATE IS HERE!**
I'm on the unlocked SM-N986U1 connected to Verizon and still no update for me. I thought having an unlocked phone straight from Samsung would put me in line to get the updates first, but I guess not. I was one of the last N20U users to get 3.0, and now the same seems to be the case for 3.1. I saw articles talking about it being pushed out the Note 10's already.

Yeah...what's up with that samsung? You shoot the new update to our traded-in or sold devices first, after we spent more money with you to be last on the update list again?! wtf...
having 986U, T-mobile unlocked from the included app, I already received the update UI 3.1 here in Africa where I am with my job. The SIM card /carrier is Africell.

I have bought two notes from Samsung directly over the years because I was under the impression if I bought the phones straight from Sammy I would get more features and faster updates. But as time goes on I see now that the unlocked phones are second class to Sammy. It seem to me like Sammy can't help but stroke off the carriers and bend to what they want.

I'm glad to see Samsung always improving their camera function as that is one of their claim-to-fames, one that snagged-me as I've said many times! However, I was sorta expecting to see something thrown in the mix about changes implemented to extend battery life...wasn't just me, right?
Got it today. U1 XAA running on visible.
