Hi,
I never created a mi account for my phone and the mi account app doesn´t work on my Poco X3 Pro (could probably get it to work with a factory reset), but I also see that Xiaomi are generally not letting people unblock the bootloader, presenting them with various errors, delays, rejections and total lack of customer support in this regard.
I found that Mediatek devices could be unlocked with a MTK bootloader tool, but the Poco X3 Pro has a Snapdragon chipset.
Anybody aware of a way to do this without a mi account?
Best regards,
Frederik

That´s not really a way to unlock without a mi account.
The sms verification wit mi unlock tool doesn´t work and the mi account on my phone doesn´t work. So I can´t login to the mi unlock tool.

There is no verification sms for Mi Unlock since you are supposed to have an account.

Now I got the mi account to work on my phone by uninstalling and re-installing a lot of mi software with ADB.
But now I can´t connect to fastboot. I have installed the drivers coming with the Mi Unlock and they appear as "Poco X3 Pro" in device manager after reboot of the phone, if I reconnect the phone and select file transfer, then it appears as "ADB Interface" in device manager.
I can´t get it to apper as Android Bootloader, which I understand is requiered?

What's the point of bugging the hotline staff? They will only reply according to their work protocol anyway. Just wait and be happy that you can unlock the bootloader at all.

It´s absolutely wrong that we don´t own what we buy, no matter who puts the limitations. I can understand it in terms of warranty, that they can´t provide warranty if I knowingly decide to use the phone against the terms of the warranty, great, that´s how it has to be. We have to be able to own what we buy and prevent others from using our stuff.

Xiaomi actually still has warranty coverage even if you unlock bootloader. Exclusion is that after bootloader unlocked, if you do something to the phone whether hardware or software, and the phone hard bricked.
We are actually using Xiaomi's server to unlock bootloader.
According to your logic, while the server belongs to Xiaomi (they paid for the server and designers), Xiaomi has to be able to own what they bought (the server) and prevent (or control) others from using our stuff.
Do you own Xiaomi's unlock bootloader server ?

Do you guys think they will release up to date and complete kernel sources within a very short period of time of release of the Mi Mix 3 ?
My new mi mix2s has 720hr waiting time, so likely to be the same
Wonder what it's going to be, 720hr would be a real killer. 72hr would be ok

The time limit is to stop resellers taking the Chinese variant and putting global ROM then selling it as the global variant without the proper bands. Not sure why it's so long though a bit of a joke.

Standard MI ROM is fine for me.
What you mean Xiaomi is blocking rom changing - people here seem to change ROM all the time? Well, it's not an issue for me as long as the ROM is global already.
Yes , xiaomi will begin to block rom changing , if you are global , you stay global , if you have china , you stay china...

To answer a few questions. I have in my possession a mi mix 3. It takes 720 hours to unlock the bootloader. So in 30 days from today I should be able to unlock the bootloader.
If anyone has questions please ask. At the moment I am on TMobile and volte does not work... Maybe when we get global firmware it will work. I will try to put a Verizon Sim in later today and see if it works.

The method I saw used software test points. And I saw it first hand, it worked flawlessly if yet a bit nerve wrecking. I am not sure if the program is allowed to be mentioned here as it can have illicit uses so I won't say it's name but it's publicly available. I only seen it used on P40 pro + but would assume it works similarly for all P40 series devices.
I uploaded this way twrp, but due to the lack of modified software nothing after that I could not do more. I would need to know how to modify the software
