I recently noticed that the April 2022 patch brought some bugs. I'll put some detail into it below:
1. Spotify stops playing in the background when display is off. I noticed that the spotify/media notification keeps on getting killed at least a minute after the screen is turned off. This doesn't happen on the March 2022 patch. Tried to reinstall the application and also to reformat the phone to rule out application issues but the behavior remained the same.
2. On a newly patched phone, some applications are not showing up in the recent applications menu. Though they are still running in the background. Reinstalling the applications fixes this issue but this would be a real hassle if you have lots of applications installed prior to the April 2022 patch.
3. Samsung messages notifications are stacking improperly on the recent patch. I don't know if google messages does the same thing.

Take note that I have already reformatted the phone but these issues still shows up.
Does anyone else experience the same issues as mine?

Disable globle power management. If enabled it will cause erratic behavior.
To verify it's disabled; Developer options>standby apps, all buckets should show as active otherwise power management is active!
It's ok to disable background usage in individual apps under battery but do not toggle on any of the switches under Optimize apps.

i found a bug in s22 ultra.
Hdr10 plus video playback is dull and not bright as it in s21 and s20 series phones.
I compared it with my s20 plus with s22 ultra. Kindly google it, one reddit user also spoke about it..
I have even installed April 2022 update. The problem is not solved yet.
This is a major bug and it irritates me while playing hdr10 videos and movies.
I have tried extra brightness on, reset and tried all possible troubleshooting methods. Now i can say its a s22 ultra bug.

Sounds like the gamma correction is screwed up... rather sloppy of Sammy.
If so, no easy way for the user to correct it however double check all settings and try in safe mode to rule out 3rd party apps causing it.
Rarely a 3rd party app will alter hidden user settings for the display. Even if uninstalled the changes remain... very irritating and hard to troubleshoot. I've seen a book reader do this... think it was the Google one.
there is a new update for s22 ultra (uk unlocked) - 25MB that will fix all the problems

I've been wanting to update to android 6, but i heard that there are bugs, can someone please tell me the bugs that they have encountered
i have read somewhere that some edge functionalities have been removed, such as phone calls (they are not showing in the edge anymore, night clock, etc.) are there any other edge functionalities that are gone? when updating from Kit Kat to Marshmallow?, or should i update, i want the new Icons, screen off memo, air command ui - that is all i want from the new update (coming from stock kit kat)
thanks
We have a major bug in MM, fingerprint issue, it causes soft reboots. See more: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/help/mm-update-lockscreen-set-to-fingerprint-t3366375
Edge panels will work towards. Phone calls etc still shown on Edge screen.
Incoming phone calls still show on the edge, but the widget for shortcuts to direct dial contacts is no longer there. I use the paid edge panel Quick Contacts as a workaround.
Camera button shifted to main screen in Lollipop and stays there in MM.
Night clock does not show the weather.
Other things are more less the same on the edge.
S pen is much better and the system runs much smoother. Personally, found it a good upgrade except for the two annoyances above.

The fix on the Verizon model is to turn off the three animation settings in developer settings. Turn them all of the way off. Mine (Verizon model) hasn't done the soft reboot since I changed it this morning. It had been doing it CONSTANTLY since way back in July or whenever we went to Marshmallow on the Verizon version.
PLEASE let Samsung Support and your carrier know that this is a problem that THEY need to fix.
It was driving me absolutely crazy.
Credit goes to nilknoc on Verizon forums.

does the edge auto shuts down on 11 % battery ?
Update. No missing function. Only issue is if you use a fingerprint occasionally the device will software reboot and force you the enter the backup password and give no option for fingerprint. Very annoying but you could just use pin or another lock option.

So I picked up an FRD-L04 at Best Buy earlier in the week and it was running B144 already. I got an OTA update to B150 and here's the release notes.
FIXED:
GMS are the built-in non-AOSP Google branded apps, right? I didn't check before and after version numbers, but nothing was getting pushed from the Play Store or seems different so far.
The About Phone page still lists the current Google Security Update as September 1st. I was hoping it would be October's. Was it not actually September's update before? I heard the phone went from July -> September and I got mine with the September update already installed. So...?
OPTIMIZED:
The speaker seems maybe a little louder or clearer at maximum volume, but I haven't gotten to see how well I can hear it outside with lots of traffic yet where it seemed a little weak before.
In the dark my screen still seems to go to minimum brightness still which is too dark for my liking. Not the brightness itself maybe, but the Contrast or Gamma needs to be changed or adjustable as everything takes on a dull grey washed out look. Maybe the white level is too high? I haven't gotten to see how the auto-brightness works in direct sunlight yet, but I don't recall it going to the maximum setting when that was necessary to easily see the screen. I'd really like an sRGB mode option in a future update.
Other:
I'm pretty happy with the Honor 8, but some news on EMUI 5 and Nougat update ETAs or the option to sign up to test the betas would be nice. I already have excellent battery life, but a Doze feature that works while walking around would be great. Apps install and launch really fast already, but Nougat's supposed to improve that as well.
Anyone figured out what exactly is different or if anyone from Honor is reading this can you comment on the update schedule or any plans for public or limited pre-release testing?
Honor did a beta for MM on honor 7 and 5x, so I am sure it will do a nougat beta for honor 8

Hey man can you test if they fixed the issue that the caller doesn't hear you for the first 4-8 seconds of the call. Had two devices with this issue.
Wait what! I'm still on B141! How did you get 144? And now B150 hmm.....

I only made a few calls prior to the update and most were to my mom who has hearing problems. Testing now on an old 3G phone and my parent's landline I don't see any several delay before being able to be heard.

My mistake, I meant B141.
Edit: About the auto-brightness...it works! Going from outdoors in the sun to indoors to poorly lit indoors at work yesterday I didn't have to manually adjust the brightness. It was good this morning too in moderate light adjusting as needed. I'm going to try turning off the Dev option of better sunlight readability and see if that affects how the minimum brightness setting looks in the dark and in direct sunlight before work today.
Looking into buying the S22 ultra but just had one question I'd like to clear up before I do:
I read that the S22 would be getting a beta release based on Android 13/OneUI5 in July with a target final release towards the end of the year. Given that Android 13 will finally be supporting LE Audio (LC3 codec) and the S22 range has BT5.2, does this mean that the Samsungs will automatically support this?
I know that in the past Samsung have been very lacklustre in their audio support (especially AptX) in hopes that their proprietary SSC would take hold. Even for LDAC you had to jump through developer options to get it activated, so just wondering if Android 13 incorporating this will automatically provide the LE Audio functionality for the S22 range or whether Samsung will play funny games and leave it out in some kind of way with OneUI5?
Anyone here involved in the Beta test by any chance who could chime back on this??
nobody?
Android 13 beta for S22 Ultra is already out, so you can try to ask in the thread dedicated to this beta. I know that on S22 Ultra with Android 12 LDAC works out of the box without any need to mess with developer settings, I use it nearly every day.

Not sure what would need to be in there to know if it's effectively supporting LE audio. I'm assuming it would either list LE Audio or LC3 but not seeing it in the menu there so doesn't look promising
Thx for sharing though Chris!
I've had my phone for close to a month now my model is (SM-908B/DS) and I have been experiencing an issue that I'm hoping it's just software and it would be fixed next updates and not hardware which is when I'm in a dim light/low light place and I try to take a picture of anything this is pretty much the resulting image:
Indoors Normal Camera:

Indoors 108 MP Camera + Detail enhancer:
Can you guys tell me if this is typical S22 quality in daylight or am I not seeing something here:
Outdoors picture Main Camera:
Outdoors 108 MP daylight + Detail Enhancer:
Same here, white light situations have been improved with the july update but that 108mp shot just doesn't feel like a 108mp shot:
Main Camera white light
108 MP + Detail enhancer white light:
This has been happening since the June update (which is when I got the phone), and the july update made somethings better but overall the problem is still there, camera looks good in daylight/outside but whenever I go in my house where the light is dim or white all pictures look noisy and bad like this and the preview is choppy aswell, here's what I tried so far:
- Clearing cache partition
- Re-optimizing apps
- Factory reset from settings
- Hard factory reset using ODIN
- Updating to the July update and clearing cache which didn't fix my problem
This problem has been going for a while, I didn't seem to care at first because mostly ill want to take pictures outside but I found myself wanting to take pictures inside my home and it's just doesn't feel right anymore, if any of you guys can relate to something similar to my issue lmk down below, I just hope samsung fixes this with software updates :/
There's an article also talking about this issue with Exynos cameras but it was back in april..
Link:
Article
Another problem I found is the camera really acts strange in white light for some reason, this only happened once to me, but it just shows that the camera really needs improvement still on exynos, and most of the time I don't take pictures in white light in my room as they all look fuzzy or have a lot of noise just like the low light/dim light situations:
From the pictures you attached, I can only see, some have 0,8 MP others 108 MP. No Exif data, so the exposure time is not clear and what is the "normal camera" (first picture)?
The subject (dog) usually cannot be captured without motion blur, especially in low light conditions.
For a systematic comparison identical conditions are needed.
Finally, do not expect too much from 108000000 pixels put on a sensor so small. Heavy image processing will not make it better sometimes. But Pixel binning works not bad, just use the far more flexible 12 MP mode. Especially in low light conditions the results are comparatively good.
I got the S22 Ultra from EE on Saturday and the image processing is absolutely dreadful, even on 108MP mode it aint great... I returned my Pixel 6 Pro as I was having constant issues with the software and and I'm honestly about to just go back to it. I hope this along with other issues with the Exynos chip can be fixed with software updates.
MY US based Watch 4 Non-LTE was just updated U1GVK7 update today 12/06/22 - Android Security Patch Level still on November 1, 2022
New Ball Watch face added, Stability codes applied to Notification + device behavior and the usual Stability and reliability updates.
Checked again for updates for my AT&T LTE Watch 4 Classic, but there's no update available. It is still at the U1GVH2 release.

I went into Wear and checked for updates and it came right up. That was about an hour and a half ago.
Dumb question. My watch is LTE but I'm only connected via Bluetooth for now. This is not for my phone, correct?

One small enhancement that I noticed is that you don't have to navigate to the last page in order to "Close All" running apps. There is a small "Close All" bubble on the initial page.
Rec'd in Australia
Got it in eastern US.
I received it yesterday for my watch 4 classic
Mine didn't notify me until today. Just told it to install. Didn't seem to break anything (but haven't used it yet). It did the typical restart into the loading firmware screen (gears), rebooted, startup stuff/etc. After that, the "Galaxy Wearable" app on the phone asked for an update. So I approved that. Everything still seemed normal.
And then, when I woke the watch up again to play with it, it popped up "Updating Watch" and "copying update". A second update??? Waited for the download. Then it asked about updating now or overnight, I told it go ahead, and it went through the whole thing again??? Reboot, gears, progress indicator, reboot, startup. I have never seen that behavior before.
Maybe your update fail...
Check if you are really on new "numbers"...

It really must have been two.... looks like I am on an even newer version than what is listed here. Now on R890XXU1GVK7
