Hi,
I wanted to hard reset my OnePlus 8, as i do times to times to clean the phone (it's the first time on this one). But this time the simple manipulation that i did many times on my op5t, went bad...
just after holding power and volume down key, it goes in fastboot mode (same that the picture) and it's written this :
PRODUCT_NAME - kona
VARIANT - SM8 UFS
BOOTLOADER VERSION -
BASEBAND VERSION -
SERIAL NUMBER - (numbers and letters)
SECURE BOOT - yes
DEVICE STATE - locked
and the menu at the top scroll on its own between START/POWER OFF/SHOW BARCODE/RECOVERY MODE/RESTART BOOTLOADER, as if i was holding volume key.
When i hold volume donw or power key, it makes scroll stop but that's all. I try some things, as hold power button for a minute but it did nothing...
what can i do, except wait until the battery goes down to 0% ?
Thank you for you're help
Need to find msmtool for that device, try and scroll to power off, plug into usb 2 port and reset that way
I was able to shut down by keeping the power button pressed for like 3.5 minutes, weird for that was the only way to get out of it. I am on OS12 with is a mess by the way -Wondering which version of Android you have?

Bootloader = power + volume down.
Select recovery from bootloader.

Or if it's off, just press power and release and right away press and hold volume down until it boots into bootloader.

The bootloader button combo, while technically correct, is a bit incomplete, and in my opinion one of the primary reasons folks have trouble getting into bootloader (as it gets described this way quite often). It leads some people into believing you are supposed to press both simultaneously, and release them, which will absolutely not get you into bootloader.
What exactly works and doesn't work varies a bit by the condition: phone is fully booted, stuck on boot screen, off, "Fast boot" is selected in Settings>Power on Sense ROMs (the deep sleep power function, not the adb/fastboot function). But the following always works, AFAIK:
Hold down the power button until the capacitive buttons flash several times and the phone powers off. While the screen is off, press and hold the vol down button. DO NOT let go of vol down until the white bootloader screen comes up. If the phone boots normally, or boots into SAFE MODE (looks like normal boot, but SAFE MODE in all 4 corners of the screen, and no 3rd party apps) then you pressed the vol down button too late. You can actually press vol down during, or even before pressing the power button. But the important thing, is NOT to let go of vol down until you get into bootloader.
For recovery, there is no button combo that boots the phone directly into recovery. You must select it from bootloader, or an alternate means (such as fastboot command). But there is not button combo for recovery as there is on some other phones.
Vol UP and power puts the phone in Qualcomm download mode, which I do not believe has any useful application for us users. So I would advise staying away from it.
Won't Properly Turn On. Can't get to bootloader.
--+ How?! +--
1) Updating to lollipop (power off)
2) Goes To TWRP Recovery
3) I Power Off With No SuperSU

The phone seems to be woking but I can't see the display....... I think I can get into bootloader mode and press power because about 2 minutes later the notification lighting comes on and the phone makes the beep-beep-bee!
They say not to panic... BUT IM PANICING. Please Help Me And My Spelling
1. Plug it into the charger
2. Hold the VOL DOWN key
3. While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
4. Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. This is more than two minutes and will seem like a long time. You might want to time yourself to make sure you hold it longer than two minutes.
5. After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
6. The Flash Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
7. Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.
If you have tried the above and it didn't work, try this:
Plug in the phone for 15 minutes.
Proceed to Step 2 above.
Did this happen without warning? Were you running stock or custom ROM?
Here are the modes for the LG K3 VS450
Factory Data Reset - Power off phone. Hold down volume up button. While holding the button down press the power button and hold it then while holding it when the LG logo pops up let go for a quarter of a second then hold down again on the power button. You will enter Factory Data Reset Mode. This is your typical LG Reset Mode (one on a white background) and has 2 options.. yes or no.
Advanced Recovery - Power off phone. Remove battery from phone. Replace battery in phone. Hold volume down + power button at the same time. You should see a message saying "Recovery Mode loading... " when you do let go of the buttons. You will enter the Advanced Recovery mode. This is your typical Android Recovery with many options.
Download Mode - Power off phone. Hold volume up button. While holding volume up button plug your data cable into your computer. You will enter Download mode. This is your typical LG download mode.
Safe Mode - Power off phone. Hold down volume down button. While holding the button down press the power button and hold it until you boot up. You will enter Safe Mode. This is your typical LG Safe Mode. It shows safe mode at the bottom left of your screen and can be exited easily by selecting exit from the notifications menu. On some LG's it will require a reboot others it wont.
IMEI Display - Plug phone into computer via data cable. Turn phone off. Remove battery from phone and replace it. Hold down volume up + volume down + power button. After the LG logo you will see a white image pop up make sure to quickly let go of the buttons. You are now staring at IMEI Display. I do not know if this is normal for all LG's or not but I would imagine so. I do not know what it is for either other than perhaps something industry related? Test modes? Etc. I will research and try to find out. I have an industry level barcode reader and software so when I get time I will read the barcodes and see what data I can get. I will also try to replicate on other LG's here.

I think my phone has gone forever, but I'd like to check here if someone can save it.
I've been using this phone for 3 years, no changes besides OTA updates. Suddenly, screen froze and I held POWER button until it turned off. Then it rebooted and showed honor powered by android in blue background. It shows only that screen for a minute or so and then reboot again. If I hold POWER button, it'll reboot again (it won't turn off). The only combination of keys that produces different result is combo of VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER, which will turn screen black, then vibrate and then turn off (if I release keys before it vibrates, it'll start over).
I tried to put dload\UPDATE.APP in sdcard and nothing happened. I also tried all combinations described in a post I found in modaco forum (www[dot]modaco[dot]com/forums/topic/377629-honor-8-button-combinations-clarified/) and I don't get any other result besides what I described before.
Is there any way to fix it??
Did you try to press power and vol- ? When it boot, release power and keep your finger on vol- while connecting to a computer using USB. Normally, you should access to fastboot
EDIT: Oh sorry, in hurry I have not pay attention to the website you quote :'(
It seems the safe mode instructions from various sites are a little inconsistent. Since the common thing to do is take what worked on a phone four years ago and assume it works for any Samsung, a lot of bad advice gets circulated. To make things easier, here are the two working methods for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.
From the home screen or powered device:
If the side key is configured to power, press and hold it until the power options appear.
If Bixby is the side key, replace holding the side key with the side key + volume down.
Tap and hold the power off menu button until you are prompted with a safe mode option.
From a powered off or boot looping device:
Make sure the device is powered off (charging is ok, as long as it is not currently trying to boot)
Hold the side key and continue to hold it until SAMSUNG appears and the device vibrates.
Immediately release the side key and begin holding volume down until the device is booted.
If Safe Mode was successfully booted, a translucent "Safe Mode' is shown in the bottom left.
Great! Thanks! Able to...
