How To Guide Safe Mode for Galaxy Z Flip 3 - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

It seems the safe mode instructions from various sites are a little inconsistent. Since the common thing to do is take what worked on a phone four years ago and assume it works for any Samsung, a lot of bad advice gets circulated. To make things easier, here are the two working methods for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.
From the home screen or powered device:
If the side key is configured to power, press and hold it until the power options appear.
If Bixby is the side key, replace holding the side key with the side key + volume down.
Tap and hold the power off menu button until you are prompted with a safe mode option.
From a powered off or boot looping device:
Make sure the device is powered off (charging is ok, as long as it is not currently trying to boot)
Hold the side key and continue to hold it until SAMSUNG appears and the device vibrates.
Immediately release the side key and begin holding volume down until the device is booted.
If Safe Mode was successfully booted, a translucent "Safe Mode' is shown in the bottom left.

Great! Thanks! Able to...

[FYI] How to go into Recovery - Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 HOME button is retired :)

I decided to spread this info, since so many developer threads still state the procedure differently (with unnecessary steps).
If your phone is turned on or off:
While you hold the Volume_Up button, you simply hold the Power button long enough for something to happen (a short vibration burst is a good sign, you can let go of the Power button right there), until the Recovery UI appears on the screen.
To go into Download Mode, do the same, simply hold additionally to the Power button the Volume_Down button until the UI appears on the screen.
Follow instructions and you're in the Download Mode.
There is definitely NO NEED at all for the Home button anymore !
If your phone is turned on:
There is no need for the Home or the Power button!
Just restart your phone while you hold Volume_Up or _Down, depending in what mode you wanna go.
I don't know for sure, if the procedure has changed on the other models as well, so maybe owner of the other Galaxy S4 variants could confirm or deny my findings
adb reboot recovery
thanks for the info,
so it is easier

Shortcut keys combos to boot into recovery, broader etc.

Sorry if I am duplicating but couldn't find it anywhere.

Bootloader = power + volume down.
Select recovery from bootloader.

Or if it's off, just press power and release and right away press and hold volume down until it boots into bootloader.

The bootloader button combo, while technically correct, is a bit incomplete, and in my opinion one of the primary reasons folks have trouble getting into bootloader (as it gets described this way quite often). It leads some people into believing you are supposed to press both simultaneously, and release them, which will absolutely not get you into bootloader.
What exactly works and doesn't work varies a bit by the condition: phone is fully booted, stuck on boot screen, off, "Fast boot" is selected in Settings>Power on Sense ROMs (the deep sleep power function, not the adb/fastboot function). But the following always works, AFAIK:
Hold down the power button until the capacitive buttons flash several times and the phone powers off. While the screen is off, press and hold the vol down button. DO NOT let go of vol down until the white bootloader screen comes up. If the phone boots normally, or boots into SAFE MODE (looks like normal boot, but SAFE MODE in all 4 corners of the screen, and no 3rd party apps) then you pressed the vol down button too late. You can actually press vol down during, or even before pressing the power button. But the important thing, is NOT to let go of vol down until you get into bootloader.
For recovery, there is no button combo that boots the phone directly into recovery. You must select it from bootloader, or an alternate means (such as fastboot command). But there is not button combo for recovery as there is on some other phones.
Vol UP and power puts the phone in Qualcomm download mode, which I do not believe has any useful application for us users. So I would advise staying away from it.

Hard Bricked Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 Tablet:Unable to boot to Download Mode

Hello
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013 Tablet.
Im unable to boot to download mode and go to screen with the green android to access Odin.
I press and hold the power and volume up button at the same time and its warns me to press the Volume Up button in the warning screen but after I press the volume up button, it boots to the Samsung Logo rather than the green android screen for Download Mode.
I believe the tablet hard bricked because it won't boot to the home screen.
I purchased a usb jig for my S4, S5 cell phones but unable to usb jig the GT-N8013 tablet because the charging port is a lot bigger than the usb jig for S4 cell phones.
I would know what have to or purchase in order to access download mode to restore the tablet to stock using Odin.
If the tablet is not able to restore to stock using Odin, what other methods are there?
Please let me know all the solutions to this problem. Thanks.

I'm just asking, I thought pressing power and volume down button together, then volume up button goes to download mode(odin). While pressing power and volume up together goes to recovery.By the way the volume down button is near the power button.

I pressed both buttons (volume up and volume down) with the power button but the green android is still not showing up. All it's doing is going to the Samsung logo and then Samsung logo just sits there.

Don't press both the volume button at the same. Press power and volume down(the one beside the power button) together ,then when the screen goes with a Warning!! (were it ask you to select volume up: continue or volume down: cancel(restart phone) ).Press the volume up button( the one far away from the power button. You're tablet now goes to download mode. Is that the step you do?

P.s. I don't work on any large corporations, but I fix my own gadgets as long as there are available resources.

Can't boot into recovery mode

On my SM-P900 I am not able to boot into recovery mode. I'm pretty sure I have at least a couple of times but now it will no longer work. I believe the key combination is "Volume Up" + "Home" + "Power" until the splash screen is visible then let go of the "Power" button. Am I correct? Has anybody else seen this problem with the SM-P900?
Thanks.
Hmmm, I donĀ“t know on your device, but both on my P905 and on my S4 after last firmware update, I noticed that if you continue pressing the three keys the device boots normally.
to boot in recovery, you should release the keys once you see a small blue writing (never investigated what it says) on the top left of the screen (if I well remember the position).
Give it a try and let me know if it works for you too.
@aviator1
Thanks for the tip. I tried your suggestion until my fingers bled without luck. No matter what I tried I never saw any text (blue or otherwise), just the flash screen.
I don't know about the home key, from a complete shut down I use the volume up key. I'll hold volume up first and then hold power until the very instant that the screen gets power and then I'll release power button while still holding volume up.

Volume button down issue

Hello.
I received my Pixel 4a recently and now feeling like the most disappointed person in the universe.
The reason is that the left button seems to be somehow stuck - but in a software way as it clicks perfectly (the phone is or should be new), but does nothing, and while button is not being pressed, the volume turns down on itself to the bottom, and tries to be turned down even then. There is more - the power button does not work, and I can not turn the screen of. And when I hold the power button, the phone does not reload - it goes into fastboot as the volume button is "being held" by default. And there is even more - in fast boot the volume down button also doesn't do anything, and the power button also acts as an options switcher instead of enabling them so I can not even enter rescue or recovery mode. The only way to boot then is to hold volume up button after holding power button so it neutralizes the volume down button effect.
Any help would be much appreciated
