SM-A716U1 root & ROM help
I have only rooted one phone in my life, I am going to need to do a lot of reading and make a lot of choices. And since I don't know anything, I am going to need some direction. I know. Tall order. But thanks in advance...

Really, PLEASE just point me in the right direction. Gimme something to read. Anything would be helpful.

[Q]New Vibrant i9000M user, I have a few questions if ya'll don't mind answering

To begin, I would like to apologize in advance. This is a whole new endeavor for me, my first smart phone actually. So I may not be the most informed in this field, please bare with me.
I recently got a Vibrant i9000m from bell canada, and I would like to know a couple of things before I root this phone.
1-How to root it, actually. The i9000m to be exact, because I've seen there are differences with rooting the regular and the canadian version. A referral link would be very helpful.
2-If I do decide to root, will my warranty become void?
3-If i does become void, am I able to unroot the phone so that the people responsible for examining it won't know it has been unlocked?
4-What exactly is a ROM? I am assuming it is some sort of UI for the phone, but I want to be sure.
5-What exactly is the term "flashing" and what does it do?
6-What is a kernal? Again I'm terribly sorry, but this is new terminology for me, and I couldn't find a straight answer for any of these questions.
That would be everything. If possible, select the questions that you can answer, you don't have to answer all of them.
Also do you have any tips for a newbie?
Thank you all so much, I really appreciate the help
-cheers!

[Q] [Help] Korean Galaxy S2 Rooting

Hi,
I live in Korea, and went ahead and bought a Galaxy SII phone. I'm very much interested in rooting it, however, after browsing around, couldn't find a solution.
With the wonderfully written threads in regards to rooting, they all seem to be geared for Galaxy I9100's out side of Korea.
I was hoping someone would be kind enough and point me in the right direction for the Korean Models.
In specific:
SHW-M250K
M250K.EE17.1456.KT
2.6.35.7-M250K.EE31.1419-CL213937
GINERBREAD.EE31
Thank you!
Edit*
I found what I was looking for at matpclub, for specific roms, but need to know some korean to navigate, there are a few threads here that can explain a bit more, ..
Looking for the same info...can I use european ROM and kernel instead?

[Completed] [Q] Sprint Note 3 flashed to Boost Mobile ROM

Hello, i have a SM-N900P note 3 originally on sprint, now flashed to Boost Mobile. I bought it brand new. It has android version 4.4.2 and im wanting to update to Lollipop on either a official version, or unofficial....whichever more stable. I paid a person to flash it to boost and he did so remotely, ive attempted to contact him for information on his process but have not been responded to. It is rooted and has TWRP and a full nandroid back up.
Please help me, im scared to try flashing a rom then ruining the ''boost flash''.
I can attatch pictures from my About Device if safe and helpful.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Paying someone to alter your device has left you in a position where you have a modified phone but no knowledge on how it got to that state or how to proceed. I firmly believe that if you can't take the time to learn how to do these things for yourself then you shouldn't be doing them at all. Having a modified phone, and working with a modified phone, requires a certain level of knowledge, it requires research, it requires work. Now you can see that taking the easy way initially hasn't really benefited you in the long run. Anyway, you have a lot of learning to do, Samsung phones can be especially difficult to modify due to the way that they're locked down. You're going to need to head over to the Sprint Note 3 section and start doing as much reading as you can. I can't really point to one specific thread because there's so much information that you need to take in. If you get stuck though there's a q&a section that you can ask for help in. Here's a link to the Sprint Note 3 device forum:

Lol look man, I am very familiar with flashing stock Roms and custom roms. As well as most other device modifications. I reached out for advice in hopes of hearing someone's output that may have already done this type of procedure.with that being said,if I can afford to pay someone to do what I may simply not have TIME to do,then that's my prerogative. These forums are to help people, not to write a reply that is in no way helpful. Maybe you should be the one that needs to do more reading. ☺??
P.s.
I have a Galaxy Note 3 flashed to Boost Mobile and pay only $35 a month, I'd say I was very benefited. Lmfao ???? You mad bro? ???

You came here for help and yet you LOL at the help....
Sounds like you take your device back to the carrier and stay stock but you also stated you are familiar with flashing, and yet you are "scared".
And sounds like you should be doing the reading, after all you came here to ask, vice searching and reading for yourself. Nevertheless
Good Luck and Thread Closed.

Hello,
timmaaa pointed you in the right direction, and as he suggested you will get more help posting your question in the device specific forum.
XDA Assist is not a "Support" forum it is to guide new users to areas they can find the help they need.
Please post your question in the link above or the Sprint Note 3 Q&A section to get the answer/help you are looking for.
Thread closed.
Thanks for understanding,

[Completed] Newbie to Mobile hacking, need pointers to root Galaxy Y GT s6102

Hi All,
Just discovered XdaDev by googling....like the spirit of communal help, hope I can contribute back one day.
Am semi tech on many different things but I've got no 'head space' on mobile tech, rooting and all that goes with it.
The more I read the more I get confused, many posts come assuming you know stuff already or have a 'familiarity',
=MY PROBLEM=
My Galaxy Young GT S6102 keeps filling up as storage is low spec. Due to Samsung forced updates I either factory default it again and run around with no security or Learn to ROOT it and perhaps put a minimal image on it.
=======
Tried looking for my model and although there are some refs here and there I cant find a good NEWBIE GUIDE to do it.
Can someone please point me in the direction with a few links. I'm not being lazy, I spend over 20 hours searching the internet and cant find anything that doesn't leave me with some doubt or missing knowledge [assumed pre knowledge/familiarity].
Don't want to brick my phone, am out of work and can't afford to replace.
cheers all.
Hello and welcome to XDA Assist.
HERE is a very easy guide to root your phone.
Enjoy! Any further assistance, just ask in that linked thread
Good Luck and happy rooting!

What is out there for s8 plus.

hey community. Im thinking to send my dinosaur phone into a cage and get a new beast s8 plus.
i was thinking to get some kind of a background and knowledge about this phone. of course i read some reviews went over specs prior posting this here.
what im interested in the most if there is any stable roms out for this phone? is it difficult to flash?
maybe someone here already went through those questions before and will be happy to share what they found or maybe even better to post their own experience with this.
