I'm not sure if gsi/treble images are still a thing. I'm thinking about swapping my old Mi 9 SE for this phone, but I just cannot stand with modern MIUI, do you think it's possible to load vanilla-like Android 12 image on this phone?
offtop: I was thinking about Samsung S22, but I guess that doing any custom rom stuff here is like hell on Samsung phone nowadays
Support you to adapt new ROM to Mi 12
yep
Actually,I sucessfully boot an gsi on it.But sms doesn't work,ashttps://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/issues/2246
I assume fingerprint is not working? I'm interested to know if FOD works?

I think I already know the answer, since the screens are different, but, can you flash the same roms/mods/TWRP on a mate 9 pro as you can on a mate 9?
Thanks so much!
I would say that depends on what you are flashing...
Official ROMs - No way, they are completely different models and have different OTA/Full installs. Think of it like the S7 vs S7 Edge.
Custom ROMs - Again, I highly doubt this, as a custom rom is based off the base ROM for that model phone... I don't see this working at all between 9 and 9 Pro.
Mods - Unsure about this, they might have some mods which would work - maybe due to both running EMUI 5.0 so maybe stuff like the Notification pull-down menu could be modded and it work on both phones...
TWRP - Would think this is phone model specific? You need to install TWRP for your specific device?
Personally, I would not try a Mod that's made for a Mate 9 on a Mate 9 Pro, and vice versa, unless the developer said it has been tested and working on both models... and would definitely not try any Custom ROMs like this, would probably either Error out when flashing it, or end up bricking the phone!
When I had a S6 Edge, after awhile, some of the roms and kernels became "interchangeable", and you could flash some things that were originally for the "other" phone initially, so I was wondering if something similar to that has happened with these two phone "brothers"
There appears to be no separate forum for the mate 9 Pro, so not sure where else to ask about things like this.
Hello Everyone!
I'm currently trying to decide whether to get the Honor Note 10, or the Xiaomi Mi Max 3. While the former clearly shows strength in terms of processing power, design etc., the later one has a major advantage in software due to it having treble support.
Hence, if I may ask to those of you who already have the phone, is the device treble enabled? I currently have my OnePlus 5 running Android Pie because of treble, and I would like to have my secondary phone be as flexible as well! I am highly aware that the bootloader unlock requires a paid service, but a few dollars for having barebones AOSP roms would be something I look forward to.
Thank you in advance to those who'll answer!

Yeah! So that it may be possible to flash GSI roms
Hi,
As Huawei doesn't allow to unlock the bootloader, you won't be able to install any GSI to it...
Some people report to have managed to unlock it with a paid option and to install TWRP.
But I am almost certain that even if they did and assuming a GSI will install and boot, you'll end up with a crippled device with features missing or not working...
I'd like to see that also but I think for now I'll stick to stock to no get stuck ,?

Well, maybe we could find workarounds for it... But I do understand your point with having incompatible roms.. I have bricked a device before because of it. But I hope someone knowledgable could look into this, especially those who work on the Honor 10 and Honor View 10 . Anyways, I guess I'll just try by myself, got my unit just today :fingers-crossed:
Is Note 10 a A only device?
I bought the realme Q phone for my brother but it's bloated with all sorts of chinese apps and that sort of stuff. Was wondering if there was a way to flash the global rom/5 pro ROM, or would it be better to try a GSI rom? Would have bought the 5 Pro if I had realized the difference sooner but it's too late now.

Not yet. Although you can flash rm5p vendor, boot, vbmeta.img since their size is the same. System.img of realme5pro is bigger so it is bigger than rmq system partition itself. You can't. Yet. I'm sure there will be a solution.
Hello, i recently got new phone and i like it, but i would prefer to get this version of operative system which is called in this world "ROM" if i am not mistaking. Do anyone have guide how to install this ROM to my Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. I had A5 2017 but it died two weeks ago, so i was forced to get new phone, i got that a5 2017 in end of 2017 when i didn't have much knowledge about phones, and i used it as a stock, and now i did little research and i found that this phone is bang for buck as people call it. But i want debloated version of this phone. And i still don't know much about phones, i am really "lost" in this world.
I also wanted to get some other ROM such as GrapheneOS and LineageOS. But i am not 100% sure if any of them support google services, such as google play. My privacy model is specific so i don't mind using gmail and some of google services. Thank you for understanding me. All help is appreciated, can't wait to get this ROM!
Tl;dr If someone can link me updated article where i can find guide how to get EU version of ROM for my new Mi 10 Lite 5G.
If you want Lineage OS or other aosp roms ypu better by another phone maybe an OnePlus or something like that. There is no love for our phone sadly. Maybe you can root the phone and remove unwanted apps. Or you cantake a look at Globe rom it's based on stock miui I used it on my previous Xiaomi phone. They have a website but the "problem" is they only use "global" miui rom as base version so globe rom is based on an older Mi 10 lite 5g rom.
Send from my Mi 10 Lite 5G

So i recently bought a Xiaomi 12 for ~$450, and i love it so far! So much more cool stuff compared to my previous 11 Lite 5G NE. Now, ive heard that the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 that the xiaomi 12 is using isnt really power efficient, and since i dont really need any faster SoC than compared to the 778G would i possibly be able to underclock/undervolt it? Im hoping it would bring down the power consumption while still offering more than enough SoC power for social media stuff like the 778G.
Ive already touched this undervolting stuff on my old 11 Lite 5G NE with Franco Kernel Manager. Couldnt do much with it tho as the pixelOS kernel controlled most of the stuff. Hoping it might be different on MIUI as its using a different kernel. Rooting would also allow me to install a xiaomi.eu rom to remove the ads and all the other stuff it brings with it. So is it worth it? Have anyone else tried?

yeah nah my bad, i meant that if im going to root (FKM needs root) i might as well install a Xiaomi.eu rom too while im at it. Ill need to unlock the bootloader anyways.
EDIT: im also a bit confused at the xiaomi 12 and 12 pro. Its basically the same device, but is it still under the same codename? The 11 Lite 5G NE and the 11 Lite 5G was 2 different devices, and things that worked on one might not work on the other, so im a bit lost at what things that the 12 pro can do which the 12 cant. Seems like the whole "Xiaomi 12" forum is filled with both Xiaomi 12 pro and Xiaomi 12T stuff.

Ah okay, but why are the forums filled with questions about the completely wrong device? Xiaomi 12 forum is filled with 12 pro and 12T questions?

Not 12 pro but 12t pro and 12t.
The thread for the 12t pro is brand new and there are still threads for the 12t (not sure there will be one one day, Mediatek soc).
