Question Is WIFI calling on both Sim and eSIM possible ? - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

I'm on a US Factory unlocked S22 Ultra running on a Xfinity Mobile Sim and a T-Mobile eSIM
Is it possible to enable WIFI calling on both numbers ?
Seems its only enabled for T-Mobile I only see WI-FI Calling scrolling after T-Mobile scrolls like this Xfinity Mobile | T-Mobile WI-FI Calling
For some reason only T-Mobile is showing up as WIFI calling enabled ?
is there any other way to check if WIFI calling is enabled other then how it scrolls across the top ?

Would depend on Xfinity and if they have wifi calling? Just throwing that out there.

I was able to trouble shoot it and got Xfinity Mobile support to fix it

I have the exact same issue and phone configuration as you. Can you tell me what Xfinity Mobile had to do to fix this?

Sorry I can't remember exactly what they did. But the way I think I remember it what they had me first disable turn off the T-Mobile eSIM then they had me reset network settings and then take the Xfinity Sim card out reboot reinsert the sim and go into settings and try and reenable wifi calling for the Xfinity mobile sim only. For it to work it will have to ask you to enter your location and some personal info for 911 emergency services it does this just once after that wifi calling will be enabled then I went back and reenabled turned on the T-Mobile eSIM back on and it came right back on now with Wifi calling enabled now on both services. Been working ever since with no issues

I have wifi calling on both. Probably depends on your carrier.

So it is either this T Mobile phone software or possibly lock from my employer on the setting as the phone is controlled by them. So I tried your recalled fix without luck. The WiFi calling setting never appears for the SIM1 Xfinity Mobile. I see it only for T Mobile eSim2. I imagine the WiFi calling setting should have enable for each sim and not just ON setting. But I found an app called "Wifi calling" on Google Play that enables the VoWiFi setting and that worked. Now I have Wifi calling on Both SIM1 and eSIM T Mobile.

It's not a great app... but it does turn on the wifi calling.

I have wifi calling on two networks and the question here if I can have wifi calling enabled while on not on wifi but on data for the primary sim.
Can the wifi calling on the secondary sim "see" the data on the primary sim in order to register for wifi calling?

It seems new Iphone did it. You can register any wifi calling using the second sim data

Yeah it works on the S22 also guess it always did I just had to call the carrier to enable it

What do you mean to call the carrier and enable it? The wifi calling?
I don't mean the wifi calling in general.
Assuming you have wifi calling and works just fine. Let's say you travel and you don't have roaming on your US
carrier and you use a local sim card for Data.
For iphone the wfi calling for the US carrier i.e AT&T/Tmobile/Verizon always register using wifi but in this case in can use the data from the second sim card (local carrier) to register for the wifi calling

[Q][BAKED BLACKBEAN] 2G\3G switch not working

Coming from CM 10, did a full wipe (data, system, etc) and installed BB 8. the switch in power widgets and also the one in quick tiles don't work. The icon changes, but the change isn't actually taking place, and when I click again it's stuck. This is quite troubling 'cause I use 3G outside and Wifi and 2G at home, so I switch a lot, and right now I have to go thru menus to do that Is anyone experiencing this\ know of a way to fix it?

i dont understand why you even have to switch (manualy).
mine switches automaticly, without ever setting it up.
when home or a place with a known wifi-network it will always use that (and gsm/2g for calls).
when no wifi is availible hspda is used. (or wifi is switched off).
i have no excessive drain from the always wifi on, still get about 4+hours screentime in a 24h batterycycle.

Well, you must be lucky, because mine doesn't  , just did a test to confirm it:
1) switch on 3g and data
2) switch on wi fi
3) dial *#*#4636#*#* and tap "phone info"
4) scroll down and voila, tge phone is still in "wcdma preferred", it didn't automagically switch to GSM

Yep you right it broken it show 2g but don't change. Also as far I know and see is that the network data is turned of when wifi is on so you are kinda wasting your time doing what you doing.
I just checkked. Switch doesnt work.
But device works correct.
my device i will switch to GSM only.
Its always on cdma prefferd, thats just a setting that wil not change on itself!!
If i look at my cellinfo.
If i look with wifi off. The GSM is active. And the GPRS service is active On UMTS network.
Wifi on. GSM is active but the GPRS is inactive, So no data.
So it works correctly here.
(btw GPRS is just the global name for dataconnection, type of connection is next line)

Sure. Here is what I get by setting 2G network only, by going thru menus - and it's what I was able to set via powerwidgets on cyano:
Enabling and disabling wifi doesn't change anything about network, it only disables data.. but that's not what I need, sorry if I haven't been clear in my previous posts.
My point is enabling 2G network, not switching data on\off . The data switch works fine, but I want to stay on 2G when I'm not using wifi or when 3G signal is poor

Data while calling question

I recently enabled HD Voice on my Google Pixel 2 on Verizon in order to use wifi calling during a recent trip. I have disabled Advanced Calling now that I don't need wifi calling, as I feel that the sound quality with it enabled is inferior to the standard calling. That said, my problem is that I no longer get data while on calls even in 4G areas. Prior to converting to HD voice I always had voice and data while in 4G areas. I know I can enable Volte, but I don't want to. Does setting up HD Voice and Advanced calling destroy this ability once Advanced Calling is disabled? My Moto x always could do simultaneous voice and data, and the pixel 2 was able to do it as well...
Anyone else experience this?
Thanks in advance!

You threw around some conflicting protocols and we need some clarification:
HD Voice has nothing to do with WiFi calling.
WiFi calling is simply calls made over WiFi, no cellular or LTE connection required.
HD Voice is also referred to as VoLTE as it uses a higher quality audio transmission over LTE.
So, as long as you are connected to LTE, you should be able to browse the internet while taking.

You can disable HD voice and still have advanced calling. I didnt have to enable hd voice in order to use wifi calling and was unaware that it had anything to do with HD voice at all.
Turn it on on phone settings.

Oddly, there is a relationship between HDVoice and Advanced Calling, at least for me, as the Advanced Calling toggle didn't exist on my phone until after I added HDVoice to my line. The reason I wonder if it's relevant is that I had simultaneous voice and data prior to enabling Advanced Calling. I don't like the way Advanced Calling sounds so I have it disabled, which means I don't want to use Volte. So, I agree with your statement about LTE and data, but I have always had that even without Volte, so I guess that's what my point is.

How can I determine if Wi-Fi Calling is active?

On my prior phone, there was a specific icon that appeared in the notification area and in the dialer when Wi-Fi Calling was active.
In the Pixel 3, I cannot find any indication of this status.
The only settings are Wi-Fi Calling on/off and Wi-Fi preferrred or Mobile preferred.
How can I confirm that Wi-Fi Calling is active before a join a one hour teleconference while roaming in another country?

On mine and my wife's P3/P3XL, when a call is in progress and WiFi is active the main call screen very clearly says WiFi Call. I am on T-Mobile. I had the OG Pixels on Verizon and T-Mobile at various points, but I honestly don't remember if it displayed anything differently while on Verizon.

I guess now that I look at the screenshot, one way would be to put the phone in airplane mode and turn on WiFi and make the call. If it goes through, you're on WiFi. If not, you aren't.

I'm on the Q beta 5 and on O2 UK network and with the status bar pulled down all the way at the top right it scrolls along saying O2 UK WiFi calling if I am connected to WiFi :good:
Edit, just noticed it says the same thing in the status bar on my lockscreen too
Dial *#*#4696#*#* then phone information, then click the three dots in the upper right, then IMS Service Status. It will tell you if it is available or not.
I found several ways to identify Wi-Fi Calling. From the lock screen (only) it will display "T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling" in the notification area.
When unlocked, the status is not available from notifications (single swipe down).
However, a second swipe down from the notifications screen (that expands the quick settings), then "T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling" is visible at the bottom in the same row as the Settings icon.
When making a call, it will indicate "Wi-Fi Call" from the dialer after the call is placed, and a short delay. When the call answers, the dialer continues to display "Calling...", then it changes to "Wi-Fi Call" after a few seconds.
There is no assistance in determining if Wi-Fi Calling is active from the dialer before placing a call. From the keypad, the green handset icon is unchanged whether or not Wi-Fi Calling is active. From Favorites or Contact there is no clue if Wi-Fi Calling is active. This is where the quick settings screen seems to be the only way.
When I posted this thread, I was in Europe. I had excellent Wi-Fi, but Wi-Fi calling never worked, so I was never able to see these status indicators.

Wifi calls

hello,
Does WiFi Calls work in Poco f2 pro ?

No, even though it is enabled from setting
Maybe check with your network. WiFi calling works fine on mine. If you want to test vowifi put the phone in airplane mode, enable WiFi only and try to make a call
VoLTE and VoWIFI its carrier+phone dependent, the phone must to have your carrier profiles (modem and IPSec configurations plus APN profiles). Yoy can try and force VoWIFI to disable your carrier checks, but is not a guarantied
For me not working neither. This morning I got device, updated to MIUI12, enabled VoWiFi but not working. I'm connected to WiFi but shows icon of VoLTE. Service is activated on SIM card, and Xiaomi devices are certified by my operator because they sold Xiaomi devices in portfolio.
Before Poco I used RN8 Pro and everything worked well...
I agree with the OP it's definitely stuffed WiFi calling or vowifi on miui 12 volte works perfectly It was working perfectly on miui 11 before the update to miui 12 yesterday something has happened?

I see the VoWIFI icon but not the VoLTE icon after MIUI 12. When you go to call history, can you see on the last calls a VoLTE/VoWIFI icon?
Suddenly, after I reset network settings, VoWiFi started to work...
Sent from my POCO F2 Pro using Tapatalk
Today I updated to MIUI 12 and WIFI calls finally worked
Did any one check if WiFi Calls work in airplane mode ?
In my device WiFi calls only work when normal mode, however if I enabled airplane mode and then connect to WiFi network, WiFi call will not work.

For me it only work without airplane mode, when airplane mode on, the wifi calls logo will not be shown and I got this error when trying to make a call
(to place a call please turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network)
Wifi is already connected in airplane mode
Any idea why I am getting this error ? or how to make work in airplane mode

Try to reset network settings... VoWiFi didn't work for me at all after update to MIUI 12, and after aprox one week and some time to time doing reset network settings and update career services, started to work normally...

for me it was the opposite, it did not work at all with MIUI 11 no matter what I do, but after update to MIUI 12 it worked right away without doing anything.
but for some reason it would not connect when in airplane mode, or maybe it is problem with global version only and European version does not have this problem

Question Dev Option "Mobile Data Always Active" No Longer Functional

I have an ATT branded S21+ and have an issue I am trying to solve around always keeping my mobile data on. I connect to a couple of devices around the house, in the truck, and on the boat that are "wifi" devices. (For instance, on my boat, I have a WIFI transducer that sends sonar data to my phone for depth and temperature) Problem I am having is while I am connected to these sources, which do not have internet service, my phone refuses to use mobile data. I used to be able to toggle the "mobile data always active" function in dev options to correct, but it no longer seems to function. Anyone have a workaround?
S21+, A12, One 4.1, and just to see if it would correct the problem, I recently moved over to the U1 firmware. The problem still exists, but at least I don't have the ATT bloatware anymore.
go to settings > software information > tap Build number 7x or 10x idk...
Go back to Settings > scroll down and find Developer Options > search Mobile Data Always Active
That's what I was saying in the title of the post. The Dev Option is checked on, but it does not do anything and mobile data is not connected simultaneously. In past firmware (pre A12), when you toggle that on, the "5G" symbol shows up in between the Wifi and Signal Strength meter.
Nobody has run into this?
I have the same problem. Found settings under connections, mobile only apps, but it seems to do nothing.
There has to be a developer who can fix this. Willing to donate if so!

The weird thing is, I used that option to test this as well, and with the dev toggle mobile data always active OFF it does work for some reason....
My Chrome using whatismyip shows a Vodafone IP correctly..
I don't even have a "Mobile Data Only Apps" option to select. I know where it's supposed to be, it's just not there. On Samsung A12 U1 firmware.

Same issue here on my Note20 Ultra.
Did you find any workaround to have both connections active in the status bar?
Hi, I have the same issue with my Redmi Note 9 Pro with MIUI 12.5.7.
I have the "Mobile Data Always Active" option activated and it isn't working, when connected to Wifi the mobile data isn't connected...
Anyone knows a fix for this?
Or there is any app that can be a workaround?
Same here with s21 plus on Verizon, I used to have both 5G and wifi on, after the last update the 5g icon disappeared while im on wifi. The problem is everytime I leave a wifi area the phone takes forever to switch back to mobile network and I have to restart the phone.

Same here, I used to use this a lot using my phone with a wifi obd scanner, the scanner obviously doesn't connect to internet so having cell data with the wifi connection was great to be able to read codes for vehicles, it's been about a year or 2 since it quit working for me on anything android 11 and up
Same issue here on my Galaxy Tab A7. The intelligent Wi-Fi doesn’t even work. There is this app Speedify that works for free up to 2gb. It does channel bonding via a VPN but I would like for the basic features built into my OS to work also
